Nina has an amazing eye for design and knew exactly what to recommend based on a brief conversation of my ideas. One year later and we still LOVE all of the tile choices throughout our home! I love Mediterranean Tile! The moment I walked into this store, I knew I had finally found a place that had the kinds of tiles I had been searching for. There are countless exquisite tiles at Mediterranean Tile. Not only does this store have beautiful and unique tiles, but their customer service is excellent. I had the good fortune to work with Nina Martin who is an expert at her job. Nina has been patient with me. I'm someone who knows nothing about tiles, but I know what I like. I really appreciated the fact that even though I have a small job to complete (small bathroom and small kitchen), Nina gave me the time and attention I needed. I'm just starting my renovation projects, so I'll be back to Mediterranean Tile many more times. Update: One of the owners, Maria Cappello, recently had to assist me with rectifying a small problem and she was extremely helpful. This is the kind of service that a home owner really appreciates. Now I'm working with another member of their design team, Lynne Lafortezza, and she is also great to work with. There is no tile shop in this region that comes close to the quality of tile and customer service that you will find at Mediterranean Tile.

I visited Mediterranean Tile on the advice of my General Contractor to explore tile options for my bathroom renovation. The offerings are eclectic and cover a wide range of styles. I selected a handmade tile that had to be custom-ordered with a 90-day lead time.
Although we didn't have that much time, we were persuaded by the sales associate, Nina Martin, that the delivery date we needed could be met. We placed an order for tile and quarter round trim, totaling $10,389 excluding tax.
Nina contacted us to inform us that the tile order would arrive much earlier than expected. The tile was picked up by my contractor while I was out of the country. Unfortunately, the majority of the quarter round trim was broken, poorly packaged in bundles without any real protection. According to Mediterranean Tile, they inspected the order, and it was fine when he picked it up.
Mediterranean Tile's sales agreement requires that the person placing the order must examine it and report any damage within 48 hours. I was out of the country and couldn't possibly do this. When I voiced my concern, Mediterranean Tile advised that my contractor picked it up. This is NOT what the contract stated. I signed and paid for the order, and I should have been the examiner, not my contractor.
Mediterranean Tile refused to refund the cost of the quarter round, which was $1,404. I filed a fraud alert with my credit card company for delivery of damaged product, which was ultimately declined because Mediterranean Tile referenced the sales agreement and the requirement that damages be reported in 48 hours. I was held to a technicality.
Does the fact that I placed an order in excess of $10,000 not afford me some flexibility here? Renovations in a small building have a cascading effect. Our bathroom renovation inspired two other units to renovate theirs. Needless to say, I will not be recommending Mediterranean Tile or Nina Martin in any way moving forward, given their blatant disregard for delivering damaged products and showing no respect for me and the sizable, custom order I placed.
Furthermore, Nina Martin works on commission and clearly was not interested in accepting the return of the damaged goods as it would have resulted in lost commissions for her. She even contacted my General Contractor to state that the way Mediterranean Tile treated me was the “last straw” and led her to resign her position there, suggesting that Mediterranean Tile treats customers poorly as a matter of course.
I refuse to bear the blame for this loss, as damaged goods are damaged goods, and good businesses work to make things right. They do not rub the loss in the face of the client, nailing them on a technicality. Their assumption is that the boxes of rounds were damaged by my contractor. While this is not an unreasonable assumption, please explain how these tiles shipped across the country from the manufacturer (Pratt & Larson, located in Portland, OR) to Mediterranean Tile in NJ, and were somehow broken in transit of ten miles from their store to my home, a distance of 15 miles.

We have been working with Nina at Mediterranean Tile for years and there's a reason we keep coming back! Firstly, Nina has an incredible eye and its evident she is passionate for what she does. As a Designer, I appreciate her perspective and knowledge. Nina has become an extension of our team and I look forward to collaborating with her on all of our projects! Second, the selection is great and at various price points. No matter if the project is big or small, you will be able to find what you need. Third, the showroom is beautiful!! You will leave feeling inspired for the next room! Last but not least, the SERVICE IS TOP TIER! Nina and the entire Med Tile team provides us with updates and great customer support so we can continue to satisfy our clients needs.

Cannot explain how brutal and awful this place was. The customer service of the owner was damn near the worst I ever had. We spent $10,000 on tile here and they refused a refund on part of the order when the contract clearly states returns are allowed within 30 days. When we expressed our disappointment, her email back to us stated that "this is all I'm going to say on the matter". Trust us when we tell you to stay the hell away from this business. Awful on all levels. Worst customer service we've ever received as well. I am open to being contacted to discuss what you can expect if you work with this store.

We had an amazing experience at Med Tile! From the very beginning Jacqui helped my wife and I pick all the tile for our rooms. Jacqui has great taste and we really appreciated her guiding us. Frank the owner is a gentleman. He came out to introduce himself and assured us that if we need anything he will make it happen. I just received delivery of the tile today and it was packaged immaculately. Each pallet was labeled neatly and correctly.Thanks Med Tile!

Great experience working with Jacqui at Mediterranean Tile in Fairfield! I struggled picking the tile and size for my bathroom renovation. I visited several tile stores and did not receive much help from other sales people. Jacqui at Mediterranean tile was able to help me narrow down my decisions and pick out beautiful tiles. Not pushy at all, answers all questions. Definitely would recommend!
