Had such an amazing expierence with movers yesterday- First time ever! If anyone is in need - I highly recommend May Pan. They are a family run business out of Fairfield, NJ. Kim came out a year ago and gave me a quote on moving and storage. She honored that same quote for yesterday's move. I must have called her 5 or more times leading with questions- which she answered happily. Bryan and his team showed up on time yesterday (actually a few minutes early). These men worked their tails off. Not only did they wrap up all my furniture in blankets and move a ton of boxes into the truck- but they also helped me empty my attic and move all of my clothes and plants into my car. I have several moving horror stories from the past and am over the moon with yesterday's experience. Please use May Pan for all your moving and storage needs!

I had a horrible experience with this moving company. The original estimate that was given was way below what was actually charged, and they charged more for something that was their mistake! The communication amongst management and movers is horrendous, everyone came shrugging their shoulders not knowing anything about the job. Then I was charged for something that was not communicated to them by Kimberly. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. There are plenty of honest and hardworking companies that will not rip you off.

the worst customer service i have received- in a long time.their slogan no job is to big or small but if we are busy you will be ignored & if we ever get back to you we will be rude - i tried my best as they were recommended so i trusted but kim is unbelievable rude- with nice people looking for work blows my mind she is in this role- this company will lose business because of it...while this is a review i have a large community & frustration leads me to tell everyone how horrible my experience was- hence i found a great moving company two men & a van

May Pan is up and beyond exceptional!! Kim and her entire team of guys were just simply the best!! We had 2 previous horrible experiences with movers and May Pan made our big move go smoothly and quicker then I have ever experienced. I can not say enough about this moving company. Every single one of the guys were professional and easy to have around. The nicest group of guys. Moved all of our things perfectly and did a final walk through to change a few pieces of furniture. We will use them again in the future. Highly highly recommend this company!!!

I will have to agree with Gary's review. Kim came to our house for an estimate. During the walk thru, she asked what our moving date was. My husband told her and she said she could make that date work. She wrote down the list of things we needed moved. Her demeanor was matter a fact but defensive at times. Regardless, we decided to book it with her that day. They had been recommended by good friends. We did not hear back so we called two days later wondering why no confirmation. Kim proceeded to tell us that it was already booked but that she would work something out. To this date, we have not heard back from her. Avoid them- totally unprofessional. Luckily we found someone else

Super professional moving company! This family owned business has been around for almost 50 years. No company lasts that long unless they "deliver" (pun intended). Kim, the second generation office manager, was very accurate with her time estimate and price quote. Note: Movers charge by the hour including travel time from truck location, worker breaks, refolding of padding and getting the truck ready for the next day. Glen and his 3 assistants wasted no time on my moving day, a hot humid July day. They worked their butts off. We picked up lunch for them from Manhattan Bagel and made sure that they had plenty of water and gatorade. They deserved the additional $40pp tip. One less thing to worry about if you are selling, buying, moving....if you hire May Pan.

We used May Pan after getting referrals from our Facebook town page. We moved from a 3bdrm 2.5 bath 1560 sqft home. Kim from May Pan, came to our home and did a walk through from basement to attic. She was quite pleasant and personable. She provided a low end quote based on a 4 man team and a high end quote with a 5 man team. A swing set in our backyard was discussed and referenced in our quote with no charge attached to it. The quote consisted of 8hrs plus 1 additional hour for overtime. The hourly rates vary based on the amount of people moving. For example: 4 man team hourly rate = $190/hr Overtime = $285/hr 5 man team = $228/hr Overtime is $342/hr. Kim gave suggestions as to how we can reduce the hours needed such as getting the attic organized and bringing items down to lower levels so it would lessen the number of trips up and down for movers and save time. We heeded this advice and I spent 2 weekends organizing and moving about 60% of the items in the attic into my garage. I spoke with Kim prior to our move agreeing to a 5 man team. *DAY OF THE MOVE* 5 guys showed up as agreed and started moving at 8am. They were very pleasant and nice to work with. However, once the items were moved to the new home, we mentioned the swing set and movers were confused because that wasn't comminicated to them by Kim. Thus, no tools present to take swing set a part. One of their coworkers was called and he came with the tools. Additionally, 2 more guys also showed up that had finished another move and came to help. 1 guy left to attend class. 7 guys now onsite. One of the movers mentioned they take care of each other so everyone can go home at a decent time. Understandable, right? You want to help fellow coworkers out and have their backs. Here's whats not understandable; at the end of the move, my wife was given the bill. 5.75 hrs with 5 men at $228/hr and 3.75hrs WITH 7 MEN AT $304/HR... Also, there was a $75 swing set move charge that was not shown in our original quote. Only my wife was present at this time and she called me to let me know we were being billed for a 7 man team at a higher rate. We never asked for additional movers. Additional movers, that came including the guy bringing the swing set tools, were doing so to help their fellow coworkers out. We didn't ask for it but were now being charged for it. We were told to bring it up to Kim. Okay no problem we thought since she was pleasant to work with in the process. We wrote out a check for the higher actual bill thinking it'll be rectified with Kim. Big mistake. *Conversation with Kim* Kim initially insisted the attic needed more work on my part despite her not being onsite the day of the move. I told her 60% of my attic was cleared out at her suggestion. When I brought up the discrepancy of # of movers Kim's response was that this is how they work as a company. Workers will come and help out others if they finish another move early. And yes, they won't ask the customer for permission and they will bill you for it at the higher rate. Her exact words were "this is how we've always done it and we'll continue to do it after you..." I thought for sure Kim would honor the original quote of a 5 man team since it was in writing. Nope. Kim agreed to refund us the $75 swing set fee after I sent her copy of my quote since she couldn't locate it. She also gave us another $100 on top of that. She ended up sending a total refund of $175 but it required a contentious phone discussion. Here's my advice. There are reputable moving companies that charge flat rates. Whatever they decide to do in terms of man power or however long it takes is up to them. The price is the price. Save yourself the headache of having to deal with a meaningless quote where the actual cost paid can vary greatly because extra men show up and a move goes potentially longer than planned and then you have to get on the phone to argue your case. Yes, Kim did give us a partial credit back but the contentious
