Mavel is a TRUE Manager, understands Customer needs and works on it.

I had an excellent experience with Hertz thanks to the outstanding service provided by Josh Abuzid and his manager, Mavel. From start to finish, both were incredibly professional, courteous, and helpful.
Josh went above and beyond to ensure I had everything I needed and made the rental process smooth and stress-free. His attention to detail and friendly demeanor truly stood out.
Mavel, the manager, was equally impressive, supportive, knowledgeable, and clearly committed to maintaining a high standard of customer service. It's clear that this team takes pride in their work and genuinely cares about their customers.
Thank you, Josh and Mavel, for making my experience with Hertz such a positive one. I’ll definitely be returning and recommending this location to others.

I had a rental today 9/3 and as I'm about to get the car(Nissan Altima) to find out that rep was unable to offer it needs as an oil change is needed. No cars were offered to wait till 10 am for cars to come back. Came back at 10 am ...no cars.they wanted to offer the last electric car been charging from the night beofre and did not pass 50% or ..get this a boxed moving truck or an Amazon truck!!!! They claim no other location has other cars. Ironically they had a Lincoln SUV ,but did not offer to compensate for the mishap and shortage...but wait...they were willing to offer it to me as an upgrade for $400...the nerve and shame on this manager!!!!@#@#
I'm filing a compliant with the BBB for these type of practices..definitely do not recommend..rent on your own risk.

I booked a rental car from Monday, July 21 to Monday, July 28. However, I completed my work early and called the rental office on Friday, July 25 to ask if I would receive a refund for the unused days if I returned the car early. I was told yes, and when I asked if it was okay to return the car after business hours, I was again assured it was not a problem and that I’d still receive a refund for the remaining days.
I returned the car on Friday, July 25 as agreed. Despite this, I was charged for all 7 days, and to make matters worse, there was an additional $52 charge with no explanation.
When I visited the rental location to resolve the issue, the staff simply said “it is what it is” and offered no assistance. I then called customer service, but they couldn’t explain the extra charges either.
This has been an extremely frustrating experience. The lack of accountability, poor communication, and zero customer support are unacceptable. I will never use Hertz again, and I strongly advise others to be cautious.

Terrible experience with customer service! I rent vehicles all the time, but on this particular Hertz location, I had the worst experience where i felt they don't want to keep new customers and the way they treat the customers is like we are begging for cars or we are getting them for free. I booked the vehicle online i paid with my credit card ahead of time, but put my husband as the driver. So he went to pick the vehicle up and gave him my credit card and ID, but because of the credit card that had my name the lady would not help him or even hear him out and she totally ignored him and went outside to vacuum a vehicle and left my husband waiting instead of trying to help him. He called me so I had to rush to the place took an uber because i really needed the vehicle that day so i had no choice but to go there so she can release the vehicle. But this is not all. Once i got there she already had canceled my online reservation and did a new one herself she didn't explain anything to me just that she needed my presence to match my credit card. I did get the vehicle, but at the time of return i got there less than an hour late, usually there is a grace period to return vehicles but this place didn't even try to help us and charged us for an hour extra on top of the weekend rental. I also forgot to use my ez-pass account when going thru tolls and i asked if she can help me to put any tolls on my acct and she said again very rude NO, and that i will be charged $10 extra for each toll used plus the toll charge. Again the worst part is that she talk to customers like we did something so wrong and made us feel they don't want us as customers. I will never go to this Hertz location/place again! That was my first and last time there.

My experience with Ricardo was wonderful after a rotten experience with 2 Enterprise locations. He was there first thing in the morning and had me in the rental within 15 minutes. Returning the vehicle was just as easy. Ricardo was very pleasant, not pushy, and explained everything in detail. I would highly recommend Hertz in Fairfield.
PS it’s next to a fitness studio which may be the reason another customer said it smells of a locker room 🙃

Stay away from the Fairfield location. The staff (Michael) is beyond rude, and the office smells like a locker room. I left without my rental. Thank goodness the repair shop next door Collision Restoration (five stars!) was able to set me up with a rental from Enterprise in Verona (also five stars).

Poor customer service, always providing other vehicles than expected and late upon every pick up of vehicle about an hour if you have scheduled appointments, do not tent from here you will be late.

HERTZ IS AN UNRELIABLE COMPANY THAT CAN'T HONOR THE TERMS OF THEIR RENTAL AGREEMENTS.
I made a prepaid reservation to rent a cargo van from this location FOUR MONTHS in advance of the pickup date. It wasn't until TWO DAYS BEFORE my rental that I received an email stating that I shouldn't have been able to rent a cargo van because Hertz doesn't have cargo vans. They offered me a box truck as a replacement but that was not adequate for my needs. A large SUV or minivan would have provided a suitable replacement but apparently every single location in north NJ was out of all SUVs and minivans... Hey Hertz, why even offer the ability to make a reservation if you can't honor the terms of your agreement? I'm now out thousands of dollars on a trip I am supposed to leave for tomorrow. I will absolutely never be doing business with Hertz at ANY location ever again.

This particular Hertz makes it very difficult to try and order a vehicle. We reserved our vehicle ahead if time but we were not properly informed of the highly specific and limited payment options they require. For a larger vehicle, they only accept credit card for suv and *refuse* to help by offering other options or vehicles. They clearly weren't interested in retaining our business. This happened at only this particular location, having used Hertz before, this was a very unpleasant experience and interaction. We will not be using this location again, if we use Hertz at all again.

Vehicle maintenance had some gaps. National customer service was abysmal. Local office was accurate, helpful, but has some responsibility for these issues. Rented a Pacifica with Connecticut plates ending in 1328.
1. Tire pressures were inconsistent across all 4, suggesting they have not been checked in a while.
2. Front tire tread was low, maybe still within spec., but low enough to feel slippery in the rain on our Pacifica.
3. Media console needed a software update and malfunctioned during the trip.
4. Local office people and the website told us that "any Hertz location" could help us add a driver to the contract. However, many locations called Hertz are in fact local franchises, not corporate. They are either unwilling or unable to help. Many would not answer the phone. It took 100's of miles to find one in Ohio.
5. Media console needed a software update.
6. There is nearly zero national customer service. Online support would respond within 3-5 business days. It has been 5 days, no reply yet.
7. 2 stars: The vehicle was, in fact, comfortable and got the job done.
8. The local office could have received some of this feedback better. Wrote nothing down. I am not confident they will take responsibility.
9. Some of the floor mats were damaged.
