So so so happy with the location, rooms, and great staff. Did a great job recognizing diamond status with the f&b credit ($15) and a room upgrade.

I booked the DoubleTree for a wedding over the weekend. It has been brought to my attention that the hotel was trying to charge more if I even mentioned the wedding to them! An additional $40 per night than the regular standard price. If there's a wedding block shouldn't the price be lower since they are getting so much business for the weekend?
I ended up going through expedia and got a cheaper value since the hotel was trying to pull a fast one over wedding guests. I booked my stay from Saturday night to Monday morning. I get there Saturday night and they told me they overbooked!! I got there at 11pm at night and I did not receive any phone call or email updating me on this factor. All the rooms were booked. LUCKILY one of my friends had an extra bed in her room and I stood there Saturday night.
I was told Saturday night that I would be the first person to receive a room in the morning and whoever checks out first that room would be expedited and cleaned ASAP for my arrival. I was informed that I would receive a phone call in the morning. I had to be up bright and early Sunday for the wedding and saw people checking out at 8am - thinking I am going to get a call soon... NOPE. 11am strolls by and I go to the front desk and ask why haven't I received a phone call about a room to be told that the previous front desk person didn't do their job!! It was an older woman with blonder hair and glasses wearing a cardigan - she has given multiple people in the wedding party a hassle including the groom's mother who picked out this hotel in the first place!!
The only front desk person who was nice and attentive was David. This man truly deserves a raise on how composed he is and the genuine customer service he provides to his customers! I hope his manager is reading this and rewards him somehow because without him who knows if I would have ever got a room!!

Not the cleanest place. Definitely overpriced compared to how clean it is. The attached pictures are a prime example of your hotel being quote on quote clean. Don’t let the pictures posted on google fool you because the room doesn’t look as nice as google makes it out to be.

I was there Thursday night, which is September 26-2024 Of course I’m at Hilton honors member. I travel a lot and Every time I go to hotel, I ask what side of the building is the quiet side especially in New Jersey a lot of locations are close to highways and main roads so front desk they told me this room is nice and quiet Sits back of the Building and after I checked in the room AC unit was on, of course that’s normal noise from the unit, but after that, the room was right next to I think 8 to 10 big roof top units. They put me on a room that I couldn’t sleep until morning from the noise and I called front desk to give me different room. they said nothing we can do about it, all sold out I know that’s not true because hotels they always keep 5 to 10 rooms empty for online reservations and it was so noisy. because of those big units on the roof , and this room was right next to them and one of them I think was something wrong with it. It was making horrible noise that I couldn’t sleep and in the morning when I was checking out, I asked front desk do something about it, They said nothing we can do about it actually they should’ve Refund me my money So my experience was really bad horrible I drove home four hours tired and sleepy so I don’t think I’ll go back there again .

The front desk when I checked in was very rude and said I was “lucky” they still have room since I changed my booking. From there I dealt with terrible WiFi that kept cutting in and out, and a cramped, only partly cleaned bathroom. I would not recommend or stay here again.

Walls in this hotel are extremely thin, I can hear my neighbors talking. need some reno for sure. No umbrella for guests in the rain. There is only a walkable Target nearby. Food is scarce. The AC is also
Extremely loud when it kicks on. I turned mine off, but I can hear the neighbors every time. Multiple guests have commented on the LOUD AC system. I’d avoid this place if you can.

more like a motel 6. Don’t waste your time or money it’s outdated and rooms smells. The bathrooms are old and tiny. The customer service is not good at all.

Not what I expected from the “Double Tree”. As one of the best hotels in the Hilton chain, this location is subpar. Does not live up to the Hilton luxury standard. Dirty shower, dirty carpet, and foul smell to say the least. Long overdue for a remodel.

Just when I thought I learned all my lessons from Expedia and Hilton I got victimized again . Having traveled internationally this past year I know to check Expedia and Hotel sites to make sure the pool or gymn are open and running . Before booking this I went through reviews and saw note about pool being closed until August 2024 thus thinking the pool was back open . So I show up to have the rude front desk woman barely even greet me while lying to others on phone she had a line of check ins and reveal there’s no pool . Not in nice way either but like I’m an idiot or rude for thinking this . After talks with Expedia to get nowhere and see if lose some bucks I went down to talk to Managemt . . When I mentioned pool issue and feeling mislead she stuck to how I was to blame as if I have to know Hilton didn’t update or have to check both websites before booking a freaking hotel . At the end of it all why I checked out is that she and the hotel didn’t even offer a free dinner voucher or something to make up for it . The message was we don’t care ,you’re the problem not us. Obviously the idea of apologies with some reasonable perk doesn’t appeal to the Managemt here
So guess what Double Tree and Hilton , this rating will now stay with you forever . Too busy ,not enough staff ? Not my problem ! Nor is it anyone’s problems paying to stay at this hotel - because the Managemt is overstaffed a customer has to be treated rudely ? Then don’t run a hotel
In Europe hotels exercise a thing called HOSPITALITY. Doing more for guests than most American hotels and it’s really sad
Finally the front desk woman should not be working in a hotel if she can’t even say “ good afternoon welcome to the double tree “ . That basic welcome with a smile , the way the Marriott Fairfield and Hilton Garden Inn do through pandemic years is what this place is truly missing

We used this hotel for our wedding block and the manager was very accommodating to our needs. The rooms were very nice and clean. We were able to utilize the bar area for the after party and it fit everyone comfortably. Highly recommend!!

This is my second review for DoubleTree Hilton at Fairfield, NJ. I am writing this review for Lisa. I had an inquiry regarding the breakfast and received a promo email that I misread and misunderstood. I was very upset because I did not understand the email message properly however Lisa was very professional, patient and kind through the whole process. I was not an easy customer to deal with but Lisa patiently tried to explain the promo to the best of her abilities. She kept her professionalism the whole time even though I was quite difficult. I realized that I was wrong and Lisa was 100% right with her information. I needed to write this review because I hope DoubleTree by Hilton in Fairfield, NJ recognizes the stellar and wonderful staff that they have. Management should be very proud of their employers like Lisa because she is truly incredible and represents what true customer service should look like. I am very thankful that I found this Hilton Hotel because everyone and our stay has been nothing but extraordinary. I will always choose DoubleTree for my business or pleasure stays whenever I am in the area because of the great experience that I've had thus far! I have to also give a special shout out to Karen and Mary Grace, they are both amazing to work with too and make your stay so comfortable and wonderful. Again, Thank you Lisa for being so understanding and kind with helping us understand our promo. You are outstanding and we truly appreciate you!

I recently stayed at the DoubleTree Hotel, and while the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, the room experience left much to be desired. The lobby was clean and well-maintained, giving a great first impression, but unfortunately, the room did not match that standard. The bathroom was outdated and not properly cleaned, with a bathtub that didn’t drain. Maintenance tried to fix the issue by pouring drain fluid, but the problem persisted throughout my stay. Overall, the cleanliness and outdated condition of the room were disappointing, but the excellent customer service deserves recognition.
Rooms: Rooms are outdated and not clean

Not a place I would stay at with my family a second time. If you are on official business, traveling solo, it may do the job. Otherwise, I do not recommend it. Not saying that all rooms smell like ours, but ours had a very unpleasant smell. Room service was good! The restaurant there is not good and over priced. AC worked only when it wanted.
