My friend went to this location and it was absolutely dehumanizing due to a security forcing people to sit on the ground rather than an available seat. These were used chairs and would bother no one to sit on, yet was a huge problem. Very disrespectful, I shopped here often and now I am not returning.

I have donated to this store for years, which is why I am so disappointed with how their new security guard treated my daughter. A few weeks ago, while thrifting here my 86 year old mother was able to rest by the furniture section and sit on a second hand chair, as were other elderly people. Today it looks like they have a security guard ??? in the store.
My daughter who has an immune disorder was sitting on a chair waiting for me to get out of the bathroom. The security guard told her to get off the chair that the store has a policy now that you can't sit on the used furniture. My daughter explained that she can't stand for long periods of time. The security guard told my daughter then you can sit on the floor (which is dirty and puts her and others in harm's way). My daughter is also neuro divergent and got very upset by this treatment. She couldn't understand why the security guard who is supposed to be protecting the donated store merchandise from theft, was targeting her for sitting due to her condition. My daughter was told she needed to leave the store and was banned from coming back because she cursed at the Security Guard. It was a very embarrassing scene that could have been avoided had the security guard took the time to understand the reason she needed to sit and had been informed of the American Disabilities Act. The ADA states:
Do thrift stores have to provide somewhere to sit for people that are disabled?
Under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), retail stores, including thrift stores, are required to provide reasonable accommodations to individuals with disabilities. This can include providing seating if it is necessary for someone with a disability to access the store's services.
The ADA Standards for Accessible Design require that public accommodations remove barriers to access and provide an environment where customers with disabilities can shop with ease and dignity. If seating is necessary for you due to your autoimmune disease, the store should make reasonable efforts to accommodate your needs.
If you encounter resistance or non-compliance, you can report the violation.
I'm still trying to decide if I should report the security guard and the store. I want all disabled individuals to be aware of this and to reference the ADA should you be harassed by this security guard.
It boggles the mind how at a thrift store (a place where people spend HOURS looking through the merchandise) the store is really not going to provide a place to sit for people that are elderly or have a disability. Way to lose customers and donations. Very, very, disappointed.

Things are achieved. But when things are seasonal. They are very expensive. There are things for 30 $50 dollars. Sometimes I get good things and other times they are very expensive even if they are used?

Literally degraded and kicked out a chronically ill disabled person for trying to sit for a minute. The security guard is on a power trip and this place isn't even worth having one. Don't waste your time coming here! You'll just be harassed.
Edit- This store just deleted the post my friend made about their experience. I added pictures of it.

The staff there is extremely rude especially the security guard he was so so rude to my family and even warned then that he will throw us out from the store and when my dad tried to calm him down he started overreacting even more
Customers should not be treated like this!

they are selling COUNTERFEIT COACH BAGS for $100+ !!!! be VERY CAREFUL buying bags here. they do NOT authenticate!!! and they DO NOT care that they are illegally selling fakes.
it is crazy that they have ARMED SECURITY GUARDS to scare their customers when they are actively and illegally selling COUNTERFEIT BAGS!
the prices are OUT OF CONTROL! you will rarely find deals anymore. dresses are MINIMUM $10 all the way up to $50+ for SHEIN and FAST FASHION! you can find all of the items they are selling cheaper BRAND NEW ONLINE.
and definitely not as clean as people think. cockroaches everywhere. be careful opening things and looking inside.
they are completely out of touch with the community and should be ASHAMED.

My recent visit to Value Village in Hawthorne, NJ, was quite disappointing. After not visiting for over a year, my friend and I were excited but had an unpleasant experience at checkout. I noticed a dress I wanted had lost its tag, but I remembered it was priced at $7.99. A younger female associate was rude, snatching the dress from my hands and refusing to sell it to me without checking with the manager first.
The male manager working at the time did not apologize or try to accommodate the situation. Instead, he began scrutinizing all our items and made the experience uncomfortable. To top it off, when the receipt printer ran out of paper, he blamed me, adding to my anxiety. Overall, the lack of customer service and rude treatment made the visit upsetting. I won’t be returning and advise others to be cautious shopping there.

i picked up a shirt today i thought was cute the price tag said SEVENTY FIVE dollars???? for a shirt? at a thrift store? this used to be my favorite spot to get little gifts for people or shop for myself but they have gotten greedy. If you wanted to “flip” clothing you should upscale your store and location. absolutely ridiculous. also saw $400 for a dresser…

Whoever is pricing these items is seriously out of their minds; asking for hundreds on used stuff. Definitely consider going somewhere more reasonable. The items in the picture are priced $99.99 and $149.99; does it seem reasonable?
