Masseuse was great however the front desk was poor. After I confirmed the gift card I had had additional money for a tip when I booked the appointment, the front desk said there was NOT additional funds on it. Poor customer service

Vicky (assistant manager & carmolina) ruined such a special day for us! Horrible! I must express my outrage and disappointment at the horrific service my mom and I received at Hand and Stone in Marlton, NJ, yesterday. I had booked a massage for her birthday with Manager Diana, who was very nice and went over everything with me. However, that's where the positivity ended.
When we arrived, NO ONE greeted us but before when we would come here everyone was so nice. Anyway, eventually, we were taken care of by someone (who was sweet), but things quickly took a turn for the worse. Massage Therapist Caramalina refused to provide the service after everything had been signed and we went over everything such as paperworks as well and citing medication concerns, despite my mom's extensive history of receiving massages at various establishments, including this one, without issue. But, after all of the questions and paperworks my mom went back for her service to start and all of a sudden she decided to refuse the service. Disgusting!
As someone who has worked at Spavia Day Spa for years, I know how important it is to treat clients with respect and care. We always made sure our clients felt welcome and accommodated. That's why I'm even more disappointed in the service we received here. I chose this location because my mom had been here before and had even gotten facials and massages without issue.
But yesterday's experience was a nightmare. Assistant Manager Vicky's behavior was abysmal. She spoke to me in a condescending, dismissive tone, repeatedly saying "nothing we can do" without offering any solutions or apologies. When I asked for a refund, she seemed put off and still hasn't processed it. Her attitude was completely unprofessional and racist, making the experience even more distressing.
I don't understand why Hand and Stone in Marlton has become a place you never want to visit. It's shocking to see how far the service has fallen. I demand my money back, and the least you could have done was apologize to us for the horrible experience. Instead, Vicky's response was to shrug it off and show no empathy.
Furthermore, I'm appalled that you're hiring students who are still learning massage therapy and charging full price for their services. If Caramalina was not experienced enough to handle my mom's massage, she shouldn't be working there at all! It's unacceptable to expect clients to pay full price for subpar service from inexperienced therapists.
All the necessary questions about medications and health concerns were asked and answered before the service, and we had signed the necessary forms. So, there was no reason for Caramalina to refuse service. I demand a full refund, immediate membership cancellation, and action taken against Vicky for her atrocious behavior.
Corporate, please take note of this incident and take necessary steps to ensure that customers receive the respect and service they deserve. Vicky's behavior and the subpar service from inexperienced therapists have ruined what was once a great experience. I will never set foot in this establishment again and will make sure to share this horrific experience with everyone I know. AWFUL!
