BEWARE: Banfield Killed our baby!!Ellie arrived at Banfield for neutering at 9:30am. Ellie was a 6-month-old healthy, clear medical history miniature yorkie terrier. We were turned away after being scheduled and confirmed appointment the day before, because “they do not conduct neutering Sundays”. After inquiring why, Dr. Naqvi told the tech that she will conduct the procedure, and Ellie was then admitted and dropped off. The tech nor Banfield ever clarified why “neutering” is not conducted on Sundays. Posing the question if, Dr. Naqvi or the Banfield facility were ready to conduct such procedure. At 11:27am we received a call that Ellie needed to go to ER due to an emergency. At that time, I was advised that she will be going to North Star ER in Robbinsville NJ. Upon the review of the medical records, Ellie went into critical condition and required chest compressions at 11:18am and had no heartbeat. She was not transported at 11:18 or not even shortly after, and was not even transported when they advised me that she was being transported and in route, during the initial call at 11:27am.At 11:32am my husband decides to call back to get further details, Dr, Naqvi was on the call with my husband for 14 minutes, and my husband was being advised, what occurred, and that Ellie was on her way to the ER. My husband asked, “which hospital?” since we live 1hr away. Dr. Naqvi told him Mount Laurel, but “not to go there just yet”. Mount Laurel hospital was a different hospital than the one provided on the initial call with us. Dr. Naqvi, nor Banfield had a clear emergency protocol, hence they provide us with two different hospitals during our calls and did not take Ellie immediately to the ER when a critical medical emergency was identified. A clear and concise, emergency plan is a required state protocol that Banfield. Poses the question, if all Banfield locations and Doctors are conducting business and the care of our animals in the same unethical way. The call with my husband was 14 minutes long, comparing the medical report and our calls the information on the medical report is inaccurate or false. Mount Laurel Animal Hospital was only 14 minutes away from Banfield. If and when Ellie was transported immediately, she would have arrived before 11:40am.At 11:50am I call Mount Laurel Animal Hospital to confirm Ellie’s arrival and status, and they shared that Ellie had not arrived. At 12:01pm I received a call from Dr. Naqvi that Ellie had passed, when we asked Dr. Naqvi over the phone and in person, what occurred, she shared that Ellie was to small, and she, Dr. Naqvi, accidentally tore her trachea with the tube being used for the gas anesthesia. Dr. Naqvi nor any Banfield tech or employee ever advised us of the risk of a neutering procedure on our small Ellie. On the other hand, since we joined their practice they have continuously marketed and strongly promoted “neutering Ellie.” Dr. Naqvi nor any of the Banfield doctors, ever oppose or share with us that Ellie size can pose a risk or cause injury, or death by neutering. Dr. Naqvi continuously addressed this tragedy as an accident. Dr. Naqvi did not have any knowledge of our dog breed and their redisposed medical risk factors. Now knowing and conducting our research as a consumer, Yorkie Terrier breed are over-represented in dogs that suffer from tracheal collapse, making up approximately 65% of cases. Dr. Naqvi lack of medical knowledge about our dogs breed and predisposed risk factors, her lack of sharing the risk, her the lack of not conducting the procedure carefully, her the lack of not choosing to postpone or deny the procedure because she did not feel comfortable with Ellie size, her lack of urgency in getting Ellie to the ER, her lying that Ellie was on the way to the ER among other variants indicated and falsely written in the medical report that occurred, makes her actions medical negligence, failure to respond appropriately to the emergency and an overall tragedy that she should be held accountable for.

you guys killed a yorkie while neutering her & didn’t advise the dog owners of the threat that neutering would cause on a small dog & failed to get her to an emergency vet in a timely manor, -1000/10 would not recommend this place.

Wildly incompetent. I suspect everything they tell us is based on a Google search. There also appears to be a fetish for taking my pets’ teeth?

Don't go here during the weekend, there's one working who makes a lot of careless mistakes. We went to have our beloved cat cremated and at first the young woman with long braids told us the cost would be $300. When we showed up she said oh sorry that was the price to have a pet spayed/ neutered. She seems very incompetent or just doesn't care to work there. Then the same young woman told the wrong name to the vet and we almost went home with another animals remains. I just don't think she's truly knowledgeable just yet.

I come to this Banfield I feel the drs and staff are clear about how to meet the needs of my doggo and the information is under stable. The key is go in with questions and don’t leave without asking why X medicine was prescribed, etc. I’m vouching for this Banfield. I haven’t had the same experience at others.

We have used this Banfield for our cats for several years now and they are the best and most friendly vets that we have dealt with. They are extremely knowledgeable. The plans are not the cheapest, especially if you have multiple pets. However, one accident or issue would cost you more than the lifetime of the plan. So it balances out.

Banfield of Marlton is the only place I will take my pets. They are professional, respectful and grateful when you walk in and ask any questions. There is a tall lady with dark hair that is always at the counter when I walk in the store. If I was not retired I would hire her on the spot for her professionalism. That goes for all I have encountered who have been helpful and keep our Dog, Remington healthy and happy.

My dog needed a teeth cleaning and I usually bring him to petsmart for his grooming and like it so I decided to call their in house hospital to see if they could let me know how much they charge for the cleanings and proceed booking. They told me they could not give me a quote on the phone and I would need to pay a $67 or so fee for an appointment and then they could let me know the cost to clean his teeth. Well after I paid the amount, my dog was out in literally 2 minutes of going in. They refused to give me an actual quote on paper and would only give me information on certain monthly plans. Finally after going back &forth she informed me it would range from 300-400 +another appointment fee which was fine ! I made his appointment strictly for the basic cleaning thinking it would come to about 367 or so and of course not! Day of the appointment they tell me my dog had to of been fasting or they would charge for extra meds. They also charged me the maximum (400) with no reason. Simply saying they are sorry I was given wrong information previously. I was so upset I just canceled his appointment but I truly feel I was scammed. Why all the hidden fees and misleading information. They keep mentioning this package and I’m so over it at this point.

Unnecessary tests without any meaningful diagnosis. They just sent our dog home and the doctor was not even there to explain what was wrong.Didn't call the next day. We had to chase her. She basically said she don't know and sent us to a hospital.Save your time and money- just go to a decent vet.

I was very disappointed with the staff. We called to get prices for surgery and was quoted a price which will include the medicine but once the surgery was done it was a completely different price. They had increased the prices by several hundred dollars. No one knows what they are doing. If are you planning to schedule surgery for your pet go somewhere else unless you want to get ripped off and bad customer service.

My sister took her dog here and they didn't even catch or test for the issue he was suffering from. My sister had to find out from another establishment. A big waste of money and time and on top of this, the supervisor was rude when my sister brought it to her attention and asked why they didn't test for everything they could put esp with the amount of money they charged!
