Maybe it's a New Jersey thing but I was followed the entire time I was inside the market. One could argue that maybe I looked suspicious but I was dressed business casual coming out of work. Either way, they were out of humus, the refrigerated items looked old and packaged very poorly. I'm sure they are doing financially just fine but thought I would let other yelpers know about my experience.

If I could rate it higher I would very clean place. Extremely friendly has fresh food and everything. If you haven’t went here your missing and it’s just a good vibe there with nice people good drinks and snacks should really hang there with ur friends sometimes and grab things from it. And nothing there is expired just straight fresh. I recommend coming here and checking it out

Store hours posted are not reliable. Drove 20 minutes and arrived at 5:20pm to find the store was closed. Web and sign on door indicated closing at 6pm. It was a Thursday night! Disappointing

Very nice place to get different flavored fresh hummus, along with pita and beetroot-flavor chips. They've also got different candies and a little something new each time you walk in. It's a fun adventure for your taste buds on a random day when there's an urge.

I am writing this as my wife and I found Mediterranean Market as we go to Produce Junction for fruits and vegetables and these businesses are in the same Plaza. First, after reading another's comments I strongly would ignore the review by Ed M. As in my experience I have been treated with the respect any customer should get from the owners or employees of a business. In defense of this establishment of which I have no connection expect being a customer, I have not shared this experience of being "watched" for that matter it is Rarely busy at Hummus Taza Mediterranean Market and yes those working there do speak in Arabic. I am not fluent in their language but it is clear to me that they have never pointed or watched me shop and my wife and I have wondered around their store several times. It is something I would highly doubt happened. This bad review appears to me to be more "profiling" than truthful. I am writing my review specifically about the very item this market is known for hummus. If you are an aficionado of hummus this market makes the very best roasted red pepper hummus I have ever had. I have experimented making my own hummus and tried hummus in many places and many countries. This hummus rivals that of the best anywhere. It is as flavorful as any and the balance of the roasted pepper, chick peas, tahini, and garlic is perfect. The consistency of the hummus is smooth and as creamy as any I have tried. I have tried the standard hummus at this same market and it is very good but the roasted red pepper hummus is stellar. I do shop this market for other items and it is worthwhile as there are harder to find more ethnic items. I love to cook and have found a few very useful things that I would have difficulty finding elsewhere. The staff has always been both helpful and friendly.

Don't try to return anything at Hummus Taza even if it is stale or rotten. (I heard an employee tell a friend that 'sell-by" dates were changed!) Your return will be refused. If you insist, you will be rudely told to leave by the man with the mustache. I was even threatened and had to call the police and make a report. BE SURE TO ALWAYS GET AN ITEMIZED RECEIPT. You don't usually get one at this store. Buyer beware. Signed: Born and Raised in Egypt.
