Coming from a healthcare worker to another, the lab tech Sahil Patel is one of the rudest medical workers I've met. She speaks to you with zero respect even when I'm in my full medical attire (not that one should treat one person better due to profession but imagine how she would treat a person of vulnerable standing). I was the only person in the office after waiting 20min for her to come back from lunch break - she didn't bother to open the door despite seeing me waiting outside until I had to knock. I was the only one there and she was like "You have to sit down" in a rude tone while I was standing in the corner minding my own business texting on my phone. I was like okay I didn't know it's a requirement to sit. Then later when she was setting up to draw labs, she was struggling to find my vein (mind you I am one of the veiniest person I know even beginning students can do my IV when I let them practice). She was like "tighten your fist" so I did and I was pumping my fist because that helps, and she still couldn't find my vein despite me seeing a big plump one (I get called by nurses to do difficult IVs all the time so I am quite familiar). She got frustrated and scolded "I said make a tight fist" and let out a frustrated gesture. SMH what an experience from the other side of receiving healthcare. I would not recommend this lab place even though it's conveniently outside the primary care doctor's office based off of the possibility of running into Sahil Patel again. What a rude a** phlebotomist. I didn't say much because I did not want her to tamper with my blood sample or "accidentally" mislabel. She also used the biggest gauge needle it was like 14/16 bore for a routine blood draw (now looking back) and shoved it in super hard without the usual courtesy "poke" warning. Good thing I can tolerate these things well but I know from experience that a lot of people have harder times with needles. Even if one person comes across this review, then it would have been worth my time writing it.

This lab is worthy of zero stars. I was referred to this lab for blood work 2 weeks ago by my doctor who happens to work for RWJUH around the corner from the lab. I have made 4 attempts to get my blood work done to no avail. The first time I arrived at 12:50pm, was told they are getting ready to close for lunch to come back at 2pm. Went back second time, arrived at 3:50pm. The woman was closing shop for the day and asked me to come back the following day. I am thoroughly disgusted at this point. Third attempt, office is closed for the day, I guess no technicians. Fourth attempt yesterday, arrived at 3:40pm. At last, there is a technician in the office and I, the only patient. Needless to say, things went south very quickly. This woman by the name Sila or Shila should not be working at this lab or anywhere. There was no attempt at a greeting or even acknowledging me, which I found odd. She then proceeded to interrogate me using monosyllables and not making much sense to the lay person that I am. At some point when I requested that I check with the doctor's office to see if I could get the bloodwork done regardless of my not having fasted, she told me if I got back at 3:45pm she will not take me (doctor's office is at the most 100 feet away from the lab). Most unprofessional office I have ever been to. Do not patronize this office. They obviously don't need the money. I have called my doctor's office and asked that they not refer patients to this lab even though they are the same company.

If I could give zero stars I would as an employee of rwj it’s just horrible to have gone to this lab twice on two different Saturday mornings when they are supposed to be open at 8 am , stand In the halls until 830 only to leave because no one showed up to open . I went into the primary care also rwj across the hall they said oh they are probably running late . How about get a tech who actually shows up ???

Maybe they should post the hours that they are actually there several times we have gone at 8 o'clock in the morning waited until 825 and no one ever showed up to open the door very unprofessional especially for Robert Wood Johnson
