Excellent customer service, friendly and helpful employees, and great value. Consistent quality every time we rent a trailer. Highly recommended.

I rented a truck to move to Texas. when I got there I didn't like it and wanted to return home to New Jerse. I contact uhual several times and I was told that I can return the truck to nj and the contract would be changed. to pay 19.99 a day and 49 a mile instead the of the flat fee I was charged. They told me I would get a refund. I came back and all I got was rudeness a nasty women at the uhual office by atlantic city. I was told in person to about my refund and here we are 3 months later and nothing. These big cooperations not caring about us and our money and rights. I have emails chat transcripts etc. I want my money back. Don't do business with them they will eventually screw you

I wish I could give them a zero star. Made an appointment a day before for hitch instillation for 7.30am. When I showed up, customer service agent tells me he doesn't have my info and the. Says he has my appointment for 4 days before. How is that possible when I called in just a day earlier. Then he says it takes 2.5 hours to install the hitch and can't start for another 40 mins. All this non sense when I showed up on time at 7.30am. I went elsewhere. Horrible place with no ethics.

Long story short, go elsewhere & do not use U haul for container storage. Their containers are smaller that it's competitors. I lived in Lawrenceville. The containers are stored 40 miles away in Edison. Why IDK when there is a place locally in Trenton. They were late on day of delivery. I called at 245 pm & was told they are coming. 30 minutes later I was called & told they will come tomorrow. Problem, my movers are coming at 8 am tomorrow to load them. I had to cancel 2 parts of my cross country trip, luckily reschedule the movers and RESCHEDULE EVERY HOTEL RESERVATION(AT A HIGHER RATE) for the next 3 weeks. They didn't care or express anything close to an apology. The delivery person was ABUSIVE ( I am being nice). I received my 4th container that was dirty, had empty food containers and paperwork from the previous user along with NO LATCH TO LOCK IT. Clearly they don't inspect things incoming or outgoing. I recently sent an email to ask a question. NO REPLY. I chatted this morning 20 minutes with Arizona, didn't even get to ask my question! What a joke. I stated I had not received a reply to my email & she took than & went off on a tangent about it. I go online & pay month by month. They autodrafted my payment this month. I didn't authorize that. I signed nothing. There is nothing in the contract about that. I scheduled this 3 weeks in advance yet, I was put on the bottom of the list, treated like cr*p, unprofessional, incompetent is putting it mildly. Never received the transcripts that I requested of every phone call thru the automated phone system. I cannot wait(sarcasm) to get my stuff moved cross country & see what kind of disaster ensues. BTW I used PODS to move from California to Virginia in 2013. DO NOT RECOMMEND. Ridiculous charges of $400 once the stuff is transported across state lines then delivered to home next day. Same issue with people in customer service giving different answers. Unskilled people get these jobs and do not care.

Extremely unprofessional, incompetent, and useless customer service agents I rented a truck at 110 US HWY 1 Edison location, and I specifically told the U-Haul customer service agent that I would be dropping the truck off at 3322 Hundson Ave Union City location, he confidently told me that I could just return the truck any time whenever I'm done because truck rental drop-offs are 24/7 now. And when I tried to return my truck, the return location in Union City was locked, so I called U-Haul customer service and they told me this location does NOT have 24-hour drop off and it closes at 7pm. After that the guy said he didn't know what to do and transferred me to someone else. After a 45-minute hold, a woman picked up the phone and again told us she didn't know what to do, and she rudely hung up on us without any explanation nor willingness to help. So now I'm stuck with a truck that U-Haul told me to return whenever 24/7 and customer service doesn't want/know how to help. Will never use U-Haul again and will always help anyone I know to avoid using their service. If U-Haul's customer service stays like this, it will die. It would be a shame, but it's also rightful.

Absolutely the worst horrible experience - avoid this place at all costs - if you book a reservation, there is no guarantee this location will have your truck, then after you arrive (in my case it was 35miles) they ask you to drive another 35 miles to another location, complete stupidity on behalf of both the incompetent reservations center and local staff. This is outrageous.

If I could give it 0 stars I would. Not only were the employees rude when I walked in, they were negligent to tell me that I needed the wiring installation along with my trailer hitch. Here I am thinking it's all in one, but the DAY OF MY MOVE, I'm hit with another charge all because an employee didn't suggest this to me. So now I have to wait in the uhaul center for the installation, PAY FULL PRICE for the installation, and the manager made it seem like it's MY FAULT as if I WAS SUPPOSED TO KNOW that the hitch installation didn't come with the wiring installation. I am moving across the country and now I'm delayed due to one workers negligence to inform me of what I needed. Do not recommend this place to anyone. Go somewhere else. Plainfield had friendly and helpful people.

My experience at this location was a disaster. I tried twice to have a hitch installed on my car. It's still not done and I'm not going back. Several weeks ago I made a reservation for an installation, but the technician suffered a flat tire on his way to work and I had to reschedule. Fine. Stuff happens. I made a second reservation and attempt today, dropped my car off this morning and patiently waited. I called twice to inquire about the status of the installation (which was supposed to take 1.5 hours). Six hours after dropping the car off, I called and was told the hitch was installed and the car was ready to pick up. Nope. No hitch. The service folks had no clue. The manager was equally ill-prepared to explain what happened To be fair, they were very busy. But, my sense is that the staff are barely interested and arguably not especially capable. My wife argued that you have to try to be as disorganized as this location has been in our experience. I won't return here for storage or equipment rental, and, with alternative locations not too far away, I'm hopeful that the other branches are even moderately more able and professional. The managers of this place should be ashamed.

The overall experience was mostly acceptable and there were no shenanigans at all. My truck did have several issues on pick-up: dirty outside, smelled like a wet dog inside, no washer fluid, headlight bulb out, but the team did everything they could to make things right. So a minus on equipment maintenance, but a plus to the counter people who were very helpful.

I had an ok experience here. The people who work there don't seem too enthusiastic about anything, but the service was fast enough to just get out of there. For some reason this location charges more than usual for their mileage ($0.99 vs $0.69).

I rented 5 U-Boxes from this site. They were very happy to take my money, set up me with a rental contract and send the boxes. That's when things went bad. When I called to re-deliver my boxes with all of my possessions - the company refused to take or return my calls for a full week. UHaul corporate had to file a complaint just to get them to contact me. The same happened when I requested that they take the boxes off of my property - they refused to return my calls and pick up the boxes for over 2 weeks, and kept charging me more and more rent and "late fees." This is probably the most disorganized, crooked, unresponsive, and uncaring business I've ever come in contact with. That's saying alot. AVOID.

This is in response to a survey question asking me if I would share my Edison U-Haul hitch installation experience with a friend. Well friends - here it is. While my hitch was scheduled for a convenient time, the hitch was not available when I showed up (after leaving work early) for the installation. I was told that the hitch would be overnighted and I could schedule a new appointment. When I arrived for the new appointment (left work early again), I was told that there was no one there to install it oh and by the way there was a meeting going on upstairs with the regional managers. While in the show room, I called customer service to complain about all the chiefs upstairs and no one downstairs to honor the installation appointment. Customer service actually connected me to one of the people attending the meeting taking place upstairs, I am, told the hitch will be installed. I was told that the person behind the counter would install the hitch. 25 minutes later, he cannot find the hitch. Later I am told that the hitch was found. When he attempts to install it, he sees that it is the wrong hitch. He calls other locations and no one has the hitch. Eventually the hitch is found and it may have been there when I showed up for the original appointment. Another 25 minutes pass and I am told that the hardware for the hitch can't be found. The plan was to overnight the hardware. I am told that my car would be driven to the front for me to pick up. At that point, one of the regional managers asks me "where are you going", we are ready to install the hitch for my Civic. Great. An hour later, the installer walks in to the showroom and tells me "two bolts two go". (I've been there for two hours). 30 minutes later, the car is brought out front and my muffler is dangling. The installer sees it and say's "I have to make an adjustment". Keep in mind, the installer claims to have installed hundreds of hitches. An hour later and my car is ready. Over three hours for a 30 minute installation! But wait there's more. The installer cannot close out my account (zero balance, actually they owed me $0.15 ) he said he would do so the next day and email the receipt to me. After two days waiting and no receipt I call the location and explain that I am waiting for the receipt. The woman that answered the phone said that it would be taken care of immediately. She said she would make sure it was done. Guess what - no receipt. Next day I call corporate and ask them to send me the receipt. They connect me to the store and a man says that he will email it to me. I asked him to make sure that it is closed out because there was zero balance due. He said he would. I receive an email. Guess what - no receipt but a copy of my original confirmation (which U-Haul did not honor). I call back, get routed to Arizona and ask to get connected to the Edison NJ's General Manager. I finally get some one that said he could help me. He said he would call me back in 15-20 minutes. True to his word he calls me back and emails me the receipt. All is good, right? - not quite. Three hours later, I get a call from a person that identified himself as Kevin from U-Haul. He said he calling me to tell me that my request to have the overage in miles eliminated was approved and that I would receive a refund. I ask him to repeat himself and he does. I asked him if he had a clue to why he was calling me he said "yes" and repeated that I would receive a refund due to the overcharge. I suggested that he double check his reason for calling me , he repeats the reason again and then I tell him that I did not rent anything from U-Haul and he hangs up. So the question is : Would I recommend this U-Haul installation facility to my friends? - What do you think? I wish there was a way to rate negative stars
