the owner AL is a hack mechanic and a liar , I'm a 50 year mechanic and being a specialist I was called in to do a rear differential gear installation because no one in his shop could .. his shop is dimly lit and filthy , he had a few young mechanics just shucking and jiving instead of cleaning the place .. on the way to his shop i lost my brakes when a rusty line blew so i nursed it to his shop and proposed he'd fix my brake line and i'd trade some of my $300 gear installation fee for his brake line labor as i don't have a lift and i have handicapped legs ..i did a textbook perfect gear install and got a ride back to my place .. he had my Chevy Suburban for 10 days .. i kept hearing he patched the line and it blew again farther down the frame .. he never finished the job because he had gone past $300 in labor .. i had it towed to a friend's shop and he informed me of the butcher job he discovered .. it is illegal to use brass compression fittings in any state to join brake tubing because they have a 300 psi max pressure , brake pressure in a normal stop can exceed 700 psi .. over 1000 psi in a panic stop with ABS pulsing it no less .. the accepted method is to use a double flareing tool which is more time consuming .. i texted AL on his cell more than a few times , sent a pic of a compression fitting and the warning it's not to be used for brakes and the max pressure rating , he finally answered i'm texting the wrong person .. i waited a few days and texted again with a friend's phone asking about a tow and acting as an old friend , BINGO .. he can tow my car right away .. i let him know who i really was and he went silent again .. so be forewarned AL the proprietor of THE CAR GUYS is dishonest , a hack mechanic doing dangerous work , a liar and a coward .. compression fittings come with this

I called Car Guys to get a tow after my car broke down on Rt1 during rush hour. I was told 20 minutes, 1 hour later and a no show, won't answer phone calls. Totally unprofessional.

TL/DR: if you are expecting Car Guys to tow, just cancel and get a different company.CallEd Progressive insurance to get a tow. Initially received a confirmation text at 9:50a saying they would arrive in 45-75 minutes.12:28pm - called back, still no show, and Progressive was able to speak to them and they said they would be here in 20 mins.1:00pm - Called again, and the Progressive agent and I decided to wait another 20-45 mins.2:35pm - called progressive to try and get rescheduled. Currently waiting for a new tow company. Entire work day wasted….Don’t make the same mistake, USE SOMEBODY ELSE!

My Subaru's battery died earlier today while I was in New Brunswick so I called Subaru Roadside Assistance's 800-number. The case was sent to Car Guys Auto & Towing in Edision for help. I spoke to Al at 12:31 PM. He said they were on it and sending one of his guys come out right away. Gabriel arrived at 1 PM and the car was running 30-Seconds later. He was professional abd courteous, and made sure to remind me as he left to "stay safe out there." These guys were the angels I needed on a difficult day. Thank you so much!

The mechanic here seems to be a house that I've been looking for over 20years and l think it is very cheap and honest. …

I was in an MVA a month ago and Highland Park police called this company to tow my car. I found out from the company that my car was towed to for repairs from the Car Guys lot that they sent it with no key. They had the key as they drove my car onto the tow truck. It has been over 2 weeks now since they acknowledge losing the key. First they stated they found a Toyota key "on the floor" and took it to see if it worked with my vehicle, which it did not. They then stated they would be replacing it, and calling their locksmith and would call me back. That was over a week ago, since that time, I have made repeated calls to The Car Guys and the person I was dealing with "Leeann" seems to never be there and no one else can help me. I have been told repeatedly she would call me back and she has yet to do so. I was also told "this has never happened" when speaking about losing the key. However, finding a key "on the floor" indicates they probably have. I cannot begin to tell you my frustration and will be calling Highland Park Police Department and whoever in the town handles contracts to let them know of my experience and recommend they contract with a different tow service for their towing needs. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE experience!!

Roadside assistance through my insurance Absolutely horrible service I waited for a toll for over 5 hours I kept calling but nobody picked up and when someone finally picked up they told me they will be there in 30 minutes still no show about 4 days now and still no show and no communication. People should not be treated this way.I had to find a mechanic to fix my car at the site that it broke down.

I had a broken tie rod coupling on my jeep and was stranded in a random hotel parking lot. I have AAA and called them. After waiting 6+ hours for AAA I canceled them and called Car Guys. They were there in less than 10 minutes. Very reasonable pricing and friendly staff. ( Even if the tow truck driver is a little nervous about being in the country with no street lights!)

We have never used their towing services (which I think is where most negative reviews come from), but Car Guys’ repairs are excellent. We’ve never had issues or feel like we’re being overcharged. They have always been able to fit us in (even last minute) for our car needs.

This has to be the worst and I mean the worst place to get towing. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone my car was stuck in a spot where it was UNSAFE. Then when I complained about the service the lady canceled my tow. I have never in my life had such bad service. Please anyone listening if your life and safety depends on it DO NOT and I repeat DO NOT USE this company please for your own safety. My car was almost hit multiple times over the course of the 3 hours they had me waiting.

Dude cut me off yesterday and almost caused an accident doing so. Unprofessional driver, there was no tires on the back car that he had towing and let it rode on the wheels itself. It came off while the car was being towed. What kind of company is this?
