Great place to get lost in knickknacks and little fun items. Anime and stationary. Feels like a kid again when I enter. Always fun to visit and get 1-2 items. Highly recommended and great place to spend a bit of time.

Came here to browse Japanese homewares as was looking into bowls and platters. They have a great selection of beautiful designs. Some smaller than expected and cost a pretty penny. I was on a hunt for a large large platter (for sushi, and whatnot). And then, their tea wares, I'm so jealous and wish I can buy most of the stuff but don't have the space for it nor need it as I already have 2 sets of tea wares.

Staff was nice. Good selection of things. A lot of stuff was cheaper here than buying it online. Some stuff I’d assume you could get some alternative for cheaper but the exact brand name item costs more online than here.

Little Japan is a small store with a big selection of figurines, collectables, toys for all ages, and authentic Japanese merchandise. The staff is nothing but welcoming to my family & I each time we visit. Highly recommend visiting!

It was very nice! You can find haori's, Japanese kimonos, and a lot of cute things! Gashapons were very nice! You can find anime figures in the back. Items were in good condition. Pin's, and Acrylic stands are also there. Since I don't live in NJ, I would love to come back in a few months or next year!

The manager and employees are mega racists and profilers. This is the second time I go to this store in 2 years. I make more money than all of these employees combined but I'm a dark skin Hispanic so as soon as I walk through the door they follow me around literally less than 4 ft away watching my every move as if I'm going to steal something. I was well dressed and did not give the impression that I was a hoodlum or deliquent. I brought my little guy here to look for some gundams and anime figures but we were so uncomfortable we had to leave right away. I pulled out my phone and held it in front of me with both hands to try and give them some reassurance and make them aware of where my hands were at all times ?. Even the employee at the register stopped ringing people up just to watch where I was! Racist is not a word that I throw around lightly but when all of the customers are Asian and they're following the dark skin guy around the entire time that I'm there it's a no-brainer.??♂️

We had the best afternoon exploring all the new plushies and knick knacks. Definitely a must-see if you like anything anime, manga, or cartoon. There were so many different parts to the store and different styles it was so much fun.

We drove down to visit yesterday. Very cool and welcoming store. All of the staffs were pleasantly helpful and extremely friendly too.

In all honesty it pains me to write this review because I like to support small businesses , especially anime oriented ones because there aren’t many in the area but I have to break my silence. I have been shopping at this store for almost 8 years now, so I am not a stranger by any means at this establishment. I don’t expect any of the employees to remember my face because I do understand that many people walk through those doors but what I do expect is to be treated with respect and dignity like any other person should be treated. On many occasions I have been harassed by both the staff and the owners while shopping. Every step I took whilst in the store, I was met with eyes behind me. God forbid I bring a shopping bag with me, I’d be met with more glares and asked to see what was inside before even checking what was in the store. At my last visit I recall a gentleman with color in his hair berating me questions about what I was looking for and continuing to stalk my every move as I tried to shop. If you are a person of color I strongly suggest you spend your time and money elsewhere because this establishment does not welcome you and you will feel that while shopping. The store has also become very overpriced with some items priced at almost double what their retail value is at other stores. I hate to turn people away from small businesses but it is in your best interest to look elsewhere for another alternative to buy your anime goods. Thankfully there is a Kinokuniya right next door to them where I can find practically the same items at a correct and affordable price, and more importantly I am not harassed while I am shopping.

i came here like three times. The first time was actually okay, but the second time i cant say the same, workers kept like following and kept walking back and forth near me and my friends. i'd also like to clarify that me and one of my friends who went are not Asian. however, they were completely minding their business towards my friends who were asian. it felt discriminatory towards me and my non asian friend. i'd give it zero stars but the cute accessories were what sold me. however, i did actually see a few items from Little Japan sold for double the price than other places. Example: if a keychain was $10-11 at Little Japan, it would be five dollars somewhere else. It would be the exact same items, too. Somehow, the items at Little Japan were in a worser quality than other places, despite having the same exact item with double the price. Sure, the items are cute, but I dont think its worth the discrimination I got from not being Asian, especially from who seemed to be the manager. For reference, I am Hispanic.

This store is terribly overpriced. My son purchased a stuffed animal for $200. Anywhere else this would have been $100 or less. We tried to return it 10 minutes later and they said sorry, no refunds. I will never shop here again and I'm telling anyone who will listen not to shop here either!! Ridiculous!!!

Be careful when you go and if you are a POC. Weird looks from staff and a women was following us inside the store. Will never step into the store again
