Today I did some shopping and trying on clothes in the fitting room. I asked the fitting room lady a question and she didn't speak English, answering in Spanish. Then I heard a lady on the loudspeaker saying something in Spanish apparently to another employee for the whole store to hear. Where is the manager when all of this is going on. I am proud to be an American and I was frankly embarrassed by this Spanish speaking over the loudspeaker in our American store. These employees should be hired for their English speaking abilities as well as retail abilities. The employees should be given an English test before being hired. Cmon managers, have some pride in our country and enforce speaking English by your employees in our American stores!

Went in to exchange a pet sweater that was a gift to my friend as it was too large. Upon bringing the smaller sweater to the front, I was told it was not possible to exchange since the sticker was removed and I didn’t have the receipt (it was a gift, again.) I asked if tender lookup would be possible and was told no, I was also told that they wouldn’t be able to look up the item I was returning. I asked to speak to a manager and the cashier referred me to Naomi — someone who wasn’t the manager who claimed she was — who said the same thing without a care.As someone who has worked in retail for many years, I’m shocked by the fact that the cashier referred me to another sales associate when I asked for the manager. I would never do that to a customer! Luckily, the actual manager Jen saved the day and helped me rightfully exchange my sweater. She was a huge help and someone I would always plan on going to if I needed something — instead of not so truthful sales associates.P.S. I also called another tj maxx to resolve this and they said my lack of a receipt or sticker was not an issue, and they would have been able to provide me a credit for the return (which I was fine with). It would be nice if all tj maxxes remained consistent with their return policy that can be found online: which says nothing against returning an item without the receipt or sticker.

Good evening, my family and I had a terrible experience today, the girl who passed us at the checkout heard me and my family speaking our Christmas language and commented to her co-worker next to her, “they don't understand English, they speak Spanish. ” and she shook her head. Unfortunately for her, I speak English. we were treated with contempt. the country has many immigrants and none of them should be treated the same way we were treated!
