Been meaning to go back this winter but reluctant because last time during our first, visit we experienced a number of issues. The wavepool, which is one of the main attractions was down, two other slides were not working and it forced everyone into really long lines even during a weekday. We went there to relax with the kids, but standing on lines all day because numerous activities were not available wasn't so great. It is likely we'll give them another shot, but we haven't been excited to go back just yet. Maybe calling a ahead to make sure everything is operational for the day is best.

So much to say. I will say that I had a good time. The place was clean, esp the bathrooms, and the staff was kind. Lots of things to do and I could ride the Lazy River all day long. BUT I really couldn't understand how whole families got to come here because it's expensive per person for one day. There are places in the Poconos with indoor water parks where you could at least stay overnight. And then the food is overpriced. I did, however, like my onion rings but would I pay $7 for 7/8 onion rings again? Nope. The crowd gets to be too much, esp on the Lazy River. I think they should limit the amount of tubes put out & whoever doesn't get one has to wait. It gets congested like rush hour in Manhattan. Lastly, I don't like that they don't check bags. Sadly, in this day & age, a LOT of things can go wrong with that.

Spent the day with my 12 yr daughter. We picked a week day and I’m so glad we did, the park was empty! We are both huge water park fans and we weren’t disappointed! There is a wide variety of slides, when you need “a break” there’s a large wave pool and a “lazy river” ride on inner tubes. We had a great time! The only things i would point out, as a first time visitor i would have liked to have some more info on the website or at the front desk/ cashier about the lockers that are available on site ( + cost) and required/ preferred attire.

This is not a cheap day out if you come at the weekend. I came with my partner and our 22 month old son. Though I did most of the rides (bottled out on the 142 ft vertical drop slide), my partner couldn't as one of us had to look after the toddler. The waits for the more popular rides can take almost an hour. This meant that her ticket was largely wasted. Come on the week when it's much quieter and cheaper if you can. Overall for a Brit partially living in NYC it is a fun day out but the cost makes it slightly prohibitive even for a lawyer!

We loved our time at DreamWorks! We went on a weekday, tickets were priced at $40 each (September online offer) and a locker cost an additional $20. Even for a weekday, the park was pretty crowded owing to its popularity! Our favourite slide had to be the tallest indoor slides (140 feet), they were super scary especially the climb and the trap door part, but it was totally worth it! The zig zag slides are amazing and so is the dream runner coaster (long queues but totally worth the wait.. it's a ride full of surprises). We never saw the waves running in the wave pool, but people seemed to be enjoying it nevertheless. The hot whirlpools were awesome.I wish the park was open for a bit longer during weekdays. The changing rooms get very crowded at the end of the day, best to go to the ones on the basement floor and a bit earlier than closing time if you want to avoid the crowds.

Hubby and I are New Jerseyians and it was our first time at Dreamworks Water Park. We had such a great time, we went on Labor Day and thought it would be crazy packed but to our surprise it was not, we enjoyed it very much. We got there at about 11ish, and the first thing we did were the rides. There were no wait times for most of them. Definitely recommend getting there at park opening and do the rides first thing because in the afternoon was when the park really picked up and there were wait times. The lazy river was fun, and all the tube rides were excellent. I loved the ambiance and had no problem leaving our stuff at our lounge chairs. We did use the lockers, I recommend for families to go thru to the other side of the change rooms and rent those lockers together. My husband and I didn’t know there were more lockers at the end and we both got separate ones in the change room. We would’ve saved money getting one together. So go to the end, at the exit of the change rooms right before going into the water park there are more lockers. We will be back!

BUY THE TURBO PASS!I would never give advice to anyone and ask them to spend more money on a business that already tries to suck every dollar they can out of you, but let me explain. Now this is easy for me to say cause I only had my son with me, but two turbo passes were $106 extra ($50 each plus tax). If I brought my other kids with me I wouldn’t have been able to afford it.I also can’t speak for weekdays as I went on a Sunday. So my son and I got there right at opening. We got on the Dream Runner right away and two other slides pretty quick. We then got in line for Shreks Sinkhole maybe around 1145. I could already get a glimpse of how slow the lines would move and it was at that moment I said to myself I did not pay an arm and a leg to stand in lines all day and only go on a handful of slides. I decided to buy the turbo pass. Best decision I ever made, my son and I never waited for anything after that. You will be the envy of all the other riders. You will get looks. But you paid for it and they didn’t.The slides are all second to none. Unique, fun, and fast. The best around.Unfortunately the park is horrible ran and designed. To get the mats for one slide you have to go upstairs, grab the mat, go down the steps, walk to the other side of the wave pool, then go up the steps to the slide. Horribly designed. Same thing for one of the tube rides. The tubes are no where near the entrance. The Dream runner ride is their most popular ride and by far the most broke down. My son and I rode it 5 times. 4 out of 5 times and broke down for minutes before we got on. Thank god we had turbo pass. I feel sorry for the people who waited a long time. Boarding the ride is soooo slow. Either get turbo pass or get there as soon as the park opens. If you don’t have fast pass you will not get on it more than once without ruining ur whole day.My final verdict of the park is this. Wayyy overpriced! But If you are already paying their absurd price for the tickets pay a little extra and get turbo pass, it will change your experience for the better. Here is a general idea of the absurd cost I paid for my son and I.(2) peak tickets $200(2) Turbo passes $100Parking $5Locker $15(2) waters $8Total: $328 for two people. That’s without food which by the way it says no outside food or drink, but bring in what you want they do not check bags.

Great water park. My favorite was the wave pool! Went on Labor Day not many people. We didn’t have to wait long on line except for one ride the dream runner which goes around the whole water park. But it was 30 min pretty quick. The other rides where quick to get there. Just be aware that most of the rides you need to take the stairs and it’s a lot of stairs. They do have food options and hot tubs so relax. Overall great park.

I really wanted to love this place more than 30 actually did. Don't get me wrong, an indoor water park, right inside the mall, that you don't have to drive at least an hour away to get to, what not to like, right? While I command it for what it does right, I think it shows that this is DreamWorks first attempt in this industry. Lack of dedicated swim up bars and adult areas were some of the biggest turn offs for me. While I liked the idea of the "sky boxes" (think, indoors covered cabanas that feel almost like hotel rooms, right inside the park), I found the lack of air conditioning insufferable, as it was quite hot inside and the air was excessively humide due to the sky boxes facing the wave pool. Speaking of which, the wave pool takes center stage and is the main attraction in the park. It's enormous. It also feels like a mini ocean rather than a pool. Other that that, it's standard indoor water park fair. Can't go wrong: lazy river, wave pool, rides, all the usual line up you'd expect are present. Other plus is that, there are so many attractions and food choices inside of the mall, it's easy to step out, get a change of scenery, then come back. Albeit, you have to leave the park. Some of the areas I'd love to see improvements on are like I said, a dedicated, adult only space, a swim up bar, perhaps mall parking pass with the purchase of a water park ticket, AC in the skyboxes, more consistent open hours (right now, it feels like there closing hours change day by day) and we'll truly have a winner that is minutes away from Manhattan and Jersey City.

This water park is so fun for the family. All you have to do is make a designated area for your family and just let the kids go and enjoy they time with each other while me and my lady just sat by the pool and enjoyed the pool the kids knew where the meet up spot was so they never got lost. When I got on the slides, the wait was no longer than 5 to 10 minutes.

Appreciate the initial replies from the business owner. Here are responses back, which I will keep in the public Yelpiverse since I think there's value added in a public discussion. Maybe everyone gets smarter when all parties have good intentions. "Due to the waterpark being kept around 81 degrees, and the skyboxes not being fully blocked off, they tend to be as warm as the park."It is far warmer in the rooms than it is at ground level in the waterpark as heat rises and the sun additionally warms the entire space on sunny days. 81 F is comfortable-ish. It was warmer than 90 F in our room. "Each room does have a light switch, located right next to the door."We saw the light switch. In our room, it did not appear to be functional. "Any ride outages that we anticipate lasting the full day are always noted on our website, as well as at our Admissions Counter. We encourage our guests to check our website before coming to be aware of which rides or attractions may not be in operation for that day."Where are the ride closures listed please? I cannot find them on the website. Also, are the rides that require one to manually carry heavy tubes up many flights because conveyer belts were not in operation listed on the website? Operating them in this way effectively puts the ride out of commission for all but a certain subsection of guests. "DreamWorks Water Park water quality technicians take water quality very seriously. These technicians follow all NJ State Sanitary Codes for Public Recreational Bathing. Our water quality technicians test water quality every other hour and must report all findings to the local health board."I'm glad that you test the water in compliance with law, but air quality was the issue I raised in my review. Now that you mention it, several of us did develop skin rashes as well, though we don't in pools ordinarily. ********** Even more concerning was the fact that a slide -- the turquoise one in the all ages area next to the Shrek ride -- tore skin and clothing and there did not seem to be a protocol in place for safety reports to reach management or others who may remedy the situation. **********Thanks so much for taking the time to respond in a public forum. I hope there are substantive changes, not just words.

Went here for a birthday party and it was an amazing experience. I heard about this place for so long, yet this was my first experience. I can see why this place is so popular. The lazy river and the wave pool alone were amazing experiences. Other experiences like seeing the DreamWorks characters like Shrek and Trolls were also fun as well. Such a great time and I am looking forward to coming back, especially knowing that this place is open year round and not just during the warm weather months.

I think this is a really nice water park however I probably will not be returning for several reasons. The overcrowding in this park is a bit ridiculous & the way GROWN people want to fight & argue over CHAIRS is insane. I really do think management needs to scale back on the number of tickets that are sold for the day. There's just way too much going on & it's very hot, humid, & muggy in there.

This is a great place to take kids to burn some energy! There are multiple water features, including a large wave pool, an area with several slides, some huge slides that circle the whole area (though I'm not sure I saw anyone riding those) and a lazy river. They offer suites that are equipped with a sofa, a chair, a large-screen TV, and a fridge. These are supplied with snacks, bottled water and drinks, and they are quick to refill when you ask via text. The place gets so busy, though, that you need more than great vigilance to keep up with small children. But other than that, it is a great place to spend an afternoon.

This place is amazing inside. The wave pool was not too cold or deep. The kids lloved it over everything else there. Lol it was too crowded which was a great thing. Still crowded but not that bad. It was friendly staff on site and life guards on deck too so it felt safe as well. The themes and rides are just out of this world cute for all age kids to enjoy. And adults too. There is so much to do. I recommend getting a suite. Which we will do next trip. I cant wait to return and spend more time exploring the place.
