We've used them for two cross-country moves now (CA-PA and back), and honestly they've crushed it both times. The logistics folks are top notch and extremely responsive, and the movers on both ends were helpful, attentive, and careful. Only lost a wine glass in our August 2024 move - not bad! Cannot recommend them enough.

Overall, positive experience. Paid around $2,200 to move from LA to New Haven; setting it up was easy and quick over the phone. I had some initial difficulties with the delivery, since the reference person on the East Coast was on vacation. But it got cleared up quickly. They came at the established time, and the crews were nice. I have 4 items broken, all minor things, it happens when moving.

I was tasked with remotely moving a client's belongings from California to New York. Other companies quoted me either very expensive rates, or said it couldn't be done. With a one week notice, CA-NY Express handled the entire project seamlessly and with fantastic customer service. They updated me at every step of the way. My client and I are both very impressed.

I used CA NY Express Movers to move from Orange County, CA to Hudson County, NJ. I was promoted and slated to start in the NY office within two weeks. Needless to say, coordinating a cross country move in that amount of time was STRESSFUL. This company made it relatively painless! Very easy to navigate and clear communication every step of the way. The team who loaded my belongings in CA and unloaded in NJ were professional and personable. My dresser did not survive the move, but all in all I was more than pleased with the experience. Will definitely be using them again!

We were so nervous about moving across country, but these guys made it stress free. We went down the rabbit hole of horror stories online: so we just hoped for the best. To our surprise, these guys are legit professionals. They took care of us, made sure we weren’t stressed out, and all within reasonable pricing. For a typical one bedroom from NYC to SF with one month storage, pick up up five flights, delivery up one flight, we netted out at about $3300. We tipped well. We took the additional insurance for peace of mind and that business was great, too. They were straight up with us the whole time about cost, and even extra wrapped things for extra care. Best part? NOTHING BROKE. not a single glass. It was worth every single penny and I highly recommend these guys.

Believe all the bad reviews, this place is awful. They were personally recommended to me by someone in a local parents’ group on Facebook. The person had such good things to say that I waited over a week for an estimated appointment. The estimator rudely told me that “you have too much stuff and clutter to give an estimate”. It was very strange. He was quite rude and condescending.. I said, isn’t that your job? Tell us what it will cost to pack everything up? I offered to get rid of items but was told he couldn’t give me a quote. He told me I basically have to start packing and or get rid of stuff to get a quote. My husband is disabled and we are slowly trying to organize things, but what an awful way to treat someone with a disabled family member. Seems like they’re only looking for Corporate moves or wealthy clients. If you have children or pets, go elsewhere. They are not friendly to middle-class people or people with disabilities.

I didn't know I could enjoy moving, but working with Ron and his team at CA - NY express was honestly a joy! Ron was so clear and communicative throughout the entire process. One of the major high light was that there was so much price transparency too. Ron started with giving me a quote on what it would cost to ship the entire contents of my large 1br room apt in San Francisco (we did a facetime, and he tracked the inventory in my aprt that way). Ron was able to calculate what it would truly cost to move everything i owned. From there I trimmed down my inventory myself (selling my stuff, donating stuff etc) and Ron gave me several new quotes so I could clearly see what the new cost estimates were, each time I got rid of something or else decided to pack more of my own belongings (Ron gave clear pricing on what it would cost for me to pack, vs having their team pack my belonging-- which was such an incredible feature of their moving offerings.. especially if you're trying to move in a hurry or else need assistance). So going into moving day I was very clear on what it would cost. From there Ron's team packed up my apartment. His staff were kind, fast and professional. All my belonging were packed with so much care.
Once my stuff had shipped I got daily/every other day emails from Ron telling me exactly where my belonging were and reminding me of the estimate timeline for when my belongings would arrive in Brooklyn. If I ever had a questions along the way, Ron was so prompt and informative with his answers.
My stuff arrived in Brooklyn right on schedule. Once it reached Ron's warehouse in New Jersey they emailed me to determine a move in date, within a window of dates that worked best for me (i truly loved this flexibility. I have a busy job and was moving solo with a 60lb dog. So having a company as flexible and communicative as Ron's was so amazing, I was able to plan accordingly on my end). Upon move in Ron had another great team of guys. Who worked quickly and professionally. When they arrived the foreman gave me an inventory checklist, and it was my job to sit at the front door and check off my numbered boxes as they arrived, so that I was 100% sure all my belonging had arrived. It was honestly such a fun and satisfying exercise.
I have nothing but amazing things to say about Ron and his business. I would recommend them 100%. The move was worth every penny.

I truly never write reviews but feel compelled to share this one after just seamlessly completing my move from LA (Santa Monica) to NYC (Brooklyn). I researched moving companies for days and was blown away by CA-NY Express - they are significantly cheaper than other options & the crews on both sides were world-class (friendly, communicative, efficient, fast). We got me packed up and unpacked in ~90 mins for a large one bedroom with lots of stuff. As a company, they are incredible transparent about pricing and were so patient with me when I needed to change my move-in location and date last-minute. Hire them, trust me.

Recently moved LA to NYC and obsessed over moving companies. I ended up choosing Move East given the fact that they only do Ca - NY moves. The teams on both ends was friendly, fast, and efficient. I had them pack everything for me and nothing was broken or damaged. They arrived early on both sides, email you everyday with where your things are, and are pretty fast with scheduling. Big ups to them! Highly recommend if you're looking for a cross country move.

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. My husband and I completely regret using them for our move - they scammed us every step of the way and I’m honestly surprised by all their positive reviews. They made the stress of a cross country move worse in every way.
We initially got quotes from both them and Roadway and when we told them we were going with Roadway they asked to see the quote for a chance to beat it. When comparing themselves to Roadway, the salesperson (David S) claimed that unlike Roadway they don’t outsource any of their movers. When our stuff was delivered on the other end, we found out this was a blatant lie.
When aiming to beat Roadway’s quote, I have in writing from David S that our quote included 45 boxes. They also received video files of our home clearly outlining everything we were bringing.
The night before our move we got a call saying our move quote had no boxes included and they were raising our price over $500. He didn’t care that we had in writing our quote included 45 boxes. We had no recourse but to accept the increase or cancel. David was unapologetic, downright rude, and also went out of his way to say how their quotes are very reliable and detailed (lol). When I asked if that was true, how come they didn’t realize a move had no boxes included until the night before, he started yelling at me.
We were told our move was being calculated by cubic feet, but on the day of the move, the movers said we had more items in total than on the list, so they had to charge us more. So which is it? Do you calculate by cubic feet or number of items? It seems they do both in order to charge you more every step of the way. Our bill was now up to $1000 more than what we were originally quoted.
On top of that, the movers had no idea how to pack our items correctly. They couldn’t figure out how to take a simple wooden desk apart into two pieces.
At this point it became clear this company was full of scammers at every level, they have scripts they stick to upcharge you every step of the way, knowing their clients have no choice but to agree so late into the process.
Fortunately for us, my husband used to own a moving company and is well aware of these unethical tactics some companies use. When we received the original quote he told me to be prepared for it to go up and he was right.
When our belongings were delivered, they were delivered by a totally different crew who had no idea who CA NY Express was, and asked us how our stuff got to the East Coast. They told us it had been delivered to them from pods. That’s when we realized how badly we had been lied to.
The worst part was our belongings included SO MUCH damage. Our boxes looked like they had been through a hurricane, and so much within them was broken. In regards to furniture, a desk arrived with a broken leg, a custom made mirror totally cracked, and a custom piece of wood furniture also had a crack in the leg, a metal shelving unit was bent.
Do not book your move with this company! Between the rude and obnoxious sales people, a complete lack of any customer service, and the unethical way of handling their business every step of the way, they are a total mess.
If you’re considering them for a cross country move, do yourself a favor and go with someone else!
