Horrible customer service at the East Orange, Central Ave. Branch. The woman who sits at the desk behind the glass, I think she's been at that job 30 yrs and still doesn't know how to speak to people. She is rude and unprofessional. How can a person work in customer service and doesn't know how to address customers? If she hates people so much, why is ahe there? She always have an attitude and speak down to people.

The Manager and several of the tellers lack professionalism, the tellers dress as if they're going to the laundry mat or to the grocery store and their professionalism matches their appearance. They speak to you as if you're and infidel. Only in this community that the customers are treated with no dignity. Period.... I'm in the process of closing my account. Wouldn't recommend them to no one.

This is by far the worst place to bank with.They do nothing to help and assist their borrowers in times of need. We are coming out of a pandemic and people are still hurting financially. Im sure your company is NOT hurting for money. At all. Per haps you guys need to take a step back and see what you can do to assist your customers instead of pulling from them. Your interest rates are already astronomically high and your terms and conditions are non-sense. How do you pull a car from someone who owed a minute amount of money compared to others who, im sure, owe thousands. You could have saved trouble and had those funds put back onto the back of the loan, thus leaving you with a happy customer and an overall positive experience. But, you wiped away someones means of transportation because they were hurting financially and offered ZERO help to the customer. You should be ashamed of yourselves. While your big wigs get to sit comfy on their couches and sip back their teas, you have customers who are still affected by COVID and are hurting. You all should be ashamed of yourselves. Horrible bank. Please bank elsewhere. They do not care about their customers and will rip away your car even if it is the smallest amount owed. Maybe if they offered assistance of a payment plan, your company would be in a better position. Please be aware when looking for a loan with them.....not good at all!!!!

Went into the branch after unsuccessfully trying to withdraw from one of their ATMs. The Bank Teller Alex and Banker Jose were trying to assist me in no time and without complaint. An older, middle-aged, female employee came out of nowhere and started telling him out loud to focus on what he was doing before and helping me is a waste of time. Then she told me "it really is not easier for us to help you" and "you can change your PIN on your phone, I can show you" in an irritated tone. Mind you, changing a PIN (especially online) takes over three days to get mailed. I needed to withdraw immediately. Then she took my IDs from Jose as he was asking me questions. She gave them to Alex. Alex was able to help me withdraw at the counter. The unpleasant experience was the unprofessional nature of the older female employee telling a customer (me) that a request is not easier for them and informing another employee that it is wasting his time. That location is the closest one, and I've been living in the area for decades. It was my first time going inside. I thank Alex and Jose for doing their job, being patient, knowledgeable, and understanding.

One star is too many! Do not bank at Santander Bank554 Central Ave, East Orange, NJ! Honestly, most of the banks in the community are not beneficial to the community nor its residents, but this bank is not worth opening up an account with. So, if you are a business, or a nonprofit organization or a regular citizen, bank elsewhere! There ATM machine is antiquated. It cannot recognized checks for deposit. The staff that is suppose to help customers is unprofessional and not helpful at times and like to say smart things to customers! Pretty sure there are no language barriers. Not the security, the security person is fine. The tellers are not always cordial or polite, like the customer service reps there. But most importantly, Santander Bank has a poor CRA rating, Community Reinvestment Act!!!! So, you are likely to open an account, but unlikely to get help starting a business or otherwise. Also, they pick and choose when to charge international fees on purchases!!!! DO NOT BANK AT SANTANDER, THEY DO NOT APPRECIATE YOUR BUSINESS!!!

Horrible bank! Terrible service! Paid a mobile phone bill last night. It was due today. Notice later on during t by e day thaamt my cell 2ent to 611 when I tried to make a call. To make a long stir short after more than an hour on the phone with this awful bank and mmthe mobile phone company that Santander Bank put a hold on my payment because the mobile phone company did not collect their mobe fast enough! So I go without cell phone service because Santander Bank could not wait less than 30 minutes for my mobile phone company to collect the money from my bill! I had hundreds of dollars in the bank and they withhold my payment of $27.00!!! People if you are in the East Orange or Newark or Orange or any area between, DO NOT SUPPORT SANTANDER BANK!!! THEY COULD CARELESS ABOUT THE COMMUNITY THEY ARE IN!!! FURTHER IF TOU LOOK AT THEIR CRA RATING OR COMMUNITY REINVESTMENT ACT RATING YOU WILL REALLY SEE THAT SANTANDER BANK IS NOT WORTHY OF YOUR BUSINESS! I wish one star was an option in this situation!!! LASTLY THEIR CUSTOMER SEEVICE LACKS BIG TIME! MOST BANJS 8N TESE AREAS ARE BAD BUT SANTANDER HAS TO BE THE WORST!

This corner bank is bright red and easy to spot on the block. A convenient ATM greets you before you enter the lobby. Inside it's a little cramped, but serviceable. Everyone was friendly and answered any questions I had about their banking chain. If you're interested in banking with Santander then this is a good branch to handle your banking needs. Not much else to say about the place because banks are functional businesses which isn't terribly exciting.

Ana at this branch treated me like a criminal...I waited over 30mins to open an account then when I sat with her he had 100 questions about why I didn't go to my local branch I explained why then she started to find issues with my drivers license...So I took my $1600 that i was gonna use to open the acct else when and got an acct with no interrogation because I'm black
