The overall issue: We ordered and paid $191.93 for 2 yards of 1-3 inches of Riverbed Stones to be delivered to our home. I attached the picture attached to show the person I talked to what I had received, clearly not 1-3 inches. Now, I fully expect differences in size, as they are rocks coming from a quarry... but I received more than half my order of rock sizes of 3-6 inches. As you can see from the picture, the rocks are clearly VERY different in size and not what we had ordered to landscape our backyard. I tried to ask him, as he was still yelling at me, if there was something that can be done, since this is not what we had paid $191 for. I was yelled at a phone number for the quarry they use, that I could not make out. I am not sure why I needed to make a phone call to the quarry, when I ordered the rocks from their company. I thought the least that could have been done was that their company could make the call to the quarry to clarify the order with them. I also suggested that we would load up the rocks and return them to them - he yelled fine, bring them back and I'll refund you! When I asked if we can get the actual rocks I ordered, he yelled that they would be the same rocks I received, they come from a quarry, what did you expect! Apparently there was nothing he can do, except yell and scream at me for trying to get what we ordered and paid for. I would like to preface this review with the fact that I have never been, I would say spoken to, but that was not the case... SCREAMED is the best description, at and not able to have a reasonable conversation with the person on the other line at Amabile and Son. The person yelled at me and told me to contact the quarry, accused me of trying to get the stones for free, and yelled that you do not even deliver to to our town. When we spoke to the nice woman yesterday 4/29, she did not mention that delivering to our town was a problem, if so, we would have shopped around. I was also yelled at that no one has ever complained about something like this in 60 years. I was also yelled at to sue them if I want, he didn't care. When I asked him if he was the owner, he told me he was one of them, which really surprised me. I was also yelled at that I should have went to your facility to measure the rocks myself, even though we paid the $50 for them to be delivered. If there was a specific radius, then someone should have mentioned that. The only reason why I sent the pictures of the rocks with the measuring stick, was for you to get an idea of the significant difference in size. There were many other things that were yelled at me, but in all honesty, I could not make out what the person was saying and even more so, why I needed to be treated like that. I hung up the phone crying and shaking because of how he screamed at me. What I am still trying to comprehend after our phone call today is; is this really how they do business with customers? Their website gives a clear description that we can order different size rocks, so I am not sure why we received a range of rocks that span between 1-6 inches verse the 1-3 inches that are clearly advertised on your website (picture below). Not only that, but SCREAMING at a customer that clearly did not get delivered what we paid for. I asked in an email if there was a way we can compromise and resolve the issue... Update 5/1: My husband spoke with the woman at the company the next morning and she said that they have never made a mistake. She told my husband that the bigger rocks slip through the sifter (1/2 my order was larger rocks). She refunded the delivery fee of $50, but in my next email to the company, I said that the issue was not the delivery (an order was delivered), but with the product being incorrect. I have not received a response and I have rocks that are not able to be used in my driveway.
