Adopted my Kitty Mango here (previously known as Loki) and it was a really simple, quick, easy process. Facility was clean and employees/volunteers were kind & helpful.

Great place! Our daughter volunteered here for the summer and everyone was very nice. They made her feel welcomed and the animals are treated so well. She fostered 6 kittens last summer and fall and even convinced us to add one to our family. A great place to adopt a cat and volunteer.

Took home our two new cats Sophie & Jill (now Peach and Ziggy) after meeting them last week. Process was quick with attention and care at every point. Volunteers were knowledgeable about each cat and interested in finding a good match. The cats all look happy and get to spend time outside of their cages:)

I adopted my kitty from New Beginnings at the end of February, and it was a great experience! The volunteers are very kind and you can tell they really care about the cats and finding the right forever home. I also like how the rescue was set up—there is plenty of room for the cats to roam when not in their cages so they can get used to other cats and anybody visiting. The actual adoption process was quick and easy. Thank you!

This team is so kind and helpful! It is evident how well they treat their cats and it makes them more comfortable around humans as well. They talked to me about what I was looking for and helped me adopt a cat that is just as happy with me as I am with her! I can’t say enough good things! They helped me find my forever best friend!

We adopted our kitty at New Beginnings in August and it was a great experience! The volunteers were all very friendly and helpful! They seemed like they really took the time to get to know each of the cats; they suggested the one we ended up adopting based on the personality traits we were looking for, and we couldn’t be happier with her! The adoption process was also quick and easy. We’ll definitely return to New Beginnings when we’re ready to adopt again!
(We adopted Pandora, now named Peppermint, or Pep for short)

First time I went to NBAR I got Cleo and he’s been amazing since day 1, family oriented, a social butterfly and affectionate but we thought he need led some company so we came back to NBAR to see if we can find him a buddy and of course we got the big guy Kobe. They warmed up to each other immediately and now they play fight and run around together. Which the way they are, you can tell they needed each other. It was a delightful and easy experience to adopt them from NBAR, thank you guys and keep up the amazing work you’re doing for these cats

I thought the people that helped us with picking my two fur babies were great and truly the nicest. I also appreciated all advice and suggestions provided. They came fully vetted with all their records since my two were born with new beginnings. That was a nice touch I think. I’m grateful

I cannot say enough good things about New Beginnings- everyone on the staff is so kind and committed to helping both you and the kitties find their forever companion. I visited several times to meet and play with the cats and kittens, and with the help of the staff, adopted my two girls! They came fully vaccinated and spayed- which was a big perk. Definitely check them out!

I have been to a lot of rescues and shelters and have done rescues myself but I have never had a place like this ever make someone feel so heartbroken or ever felt like we were criminals when they are the criminals. I came in with my girlfriend and my other and the volunteers are the ones who judge you off the first impression and are biased and Racist! We had a feeling we weren’t gonna get approved because we are a biracial couple and looking at the volunteers and the other reviews it makes sense what this place is. They have a cat the name of Harden who brings people in cause he’s a gorgeous cat and I heard 2 other couples actually say that’s what has brought them to the adoption was Harden. Well he’s been there over 2 months and I’m starting to think it’s for advertisement like another review said. THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS ARE THE MOST ACCURATE REVIEWS OF THIS PLACE. I applied for the cat harden like I said above and got an email back stating I wasn’t approved . They never even called my references or
My veterinarian. You are being judged from the time you walk and to the time or out the door. You ask too many questions consider yourself denied. I do not believe in declawing my cat, mistreating any animals. I’ve had cats and dogs my whole life and done rescues like I said above and if I could shut this place down I would. These animals need a home and all this place is doing is causing aggravation and false information to people. There are a lot of cruel people out there but you’re not running a background check . There are also a lot of good people out there and families like ours that need an animal or 2.
We had already a kitten and wanted harden to be our 2nd cat but I see that’s about advertisement and now I have a great kitten who is part of our family thanks to save the animals today. S.T.A.T is the way to go and Beth has lots of
Kittens . Screw this place !!

This place is absolutely horrible in the way they look at you for trying to adopt a pet. If you already have cat and you try to get another cat from them knowing that you know how your cat acts or his or hers energy how are you gonna tell someone we are not here to get a cat for your cat but we want to make sure the cat is right for you. First off the pet always picks who he or she wants to go with . Also if I want to get a cat that I know my family is good for us and my other cat at home that’s the whole reason to get a cat . You don’t tell someone more then likely the cat your looking for is not gonna be the one you want. I’ve had more cats and more animals than half of these volunteers even had. These volunteers look unhappy and judge you!! I found a kitten somewhere else that’s way easier process and I didn’t feel biased. Another couple left a bad review for the same way they didn’t get approved and there cat died and wanted to adopt another cat and gave no reason to them or me for not approving . When I’ve had cats and dogs my whole life. Very disappointing in your process on how you judge people!! It’s all about money and Hardin is a sales tactic to bring people in!!This place shouldn’t be called the new beginning it should be called the new ending cause they don’t care about peoples feelings and your getting judged and they never even called My references!
I would give you guys 0 if I could!

We got our girls back in December of 2023. Our girls are angels and it was a very speedy adoption process. We met our girls on a Wednesday and brought them home on Friday that same week(because we are neurotic and had everything all ready lol) Everyone here was a pleasure to talk to and you can tell how much they care about the cats. We are so happy our family is complete.

Very poor communication, loved the cats, and the workers were very nice. We adopted a cat from Jackson North ocean county animal shelter same day and had it for 3-4 days by the time we heard back. Don't even know what to score it. I live about 40 ish minutes away just wasn't meant to be. If it weren't for the two women that helped us that night and spent 2 hours helping us I would've left a 1 star. Sent an initial email here, placed a call left VM, and every other shelter had a timely response. The initial email and call went unnoticed. After we visited, there was a 6 days to vet the application. Just meh overall. Also, for the cat we were interested in, there wasn't much info into the medical past. Both SPCA and Ocean shelter were much more thorough overall.

Do not waste your time if you want to adopt a kitten. This "rescue" will only let you look at the kittens, they have no interest in letting you adopt any. It seems like the kittens are only a marketing ploy to attract donations. Staff was pretty rude and entirely uninterested in finding homes for the cats they have taken prisoner.
