Extremely disappointed and RIPPED OFF!!!! I called to see how much the pricing was for this year and since I have been a client the past few years and had another simple tax return, the secretary told me it would be the same, around $159. I tried to make an appointment with Eric in the Rockaway office but he could not take me until April 15th. I was a bit nervous about waiting that long so the secretary said he had an appointment at the office in Roxbury on Tuesday, April 9th. I went and got my taxes done there with Eric. However, when I went to pay, the fee was $309!! He said that since they are "Block Advisors" office, they charge more. NO ONE TOLD ME THAT! He even asked if anyone told me when I made the appointment. I ended up having to pay DOUBLE what I was quoted even though it was another simple tax return. When I called the Rockaway office to complain, the secretary, Patty, told me that the fee should have been the same no matter which office I went to which is not what the accountant said. One of them is not being truthful. I asked to speak to a supervisor. The secretary told me she would have Selena call me and I have still not heard a word. Totally unprofessional. I do NOT recommend them to anyone and will continue to pursue this so other people don't get lied to and scammed.

BIG RIP OFF !!!!!! I bin coming here for years never again. I bin out of work for a year bcouse of a work injury went to get my taxes done and my return is going to be around a $130 bucks between both the federal and state the problem is how the heck do u guys sleep at night charging me $445 bucks to do my simple taxes that I had nothing to really right off for this I could have just done my own taxes online with turbo tax and save my self $445 I have had big tax returns in the past and was never charged this much how does this make sense H&R use to be good now it's just greedy never again and never again will I recommend someone I'll definitely let my friends know about the Rediculas prices they charge .ps and when I look at all the past negative reviews and they have all the same reply your voice is heard well how many times are you going to keep using the same response your voice is heard and actually do something about it and start making some changes try showing that you care about your customers and start making changes and stop using the same lame response to customers complaining!!!!! 4/7/24Up date I found out some get paid Commission so now I know why they over charge

I used H&R block years ago in Morristown and had a pretty easy and pleasant experience. I used TurboTax myself the next few years and decided to return to H&R block to avoid the stress. I agree with another reviewer on here that Ursula should not be working. She was so low spoken, I couldn't tell if she was talking to me or mumbling to herself. I just sat there while she spent 5 minutes trying to figure out how to scroll on her computer I had to show her. She also made multiple errors that I pointed out. (One on my federal gross income amount!) Why am I paying h&R block if I am catching errors?! Anyway, I was there for an hour, and we only got through my two w-2s. I had to call back and make ANOTHER appointment after Ursula had finished on her own time. When I tried expressing that I wanted somebody else to review everything, receptionist told me "I understand you're venting. It's okay". No lady I'm not just venting. I want you to do something about it. When I finally came in, to my surprise, I was scheduled with Brittany, but their system had me in as a new client!!! She had ALSO done my taxes and said "I assumed your forms were dropped off." WILD. Don't get me wrong. I'm glad it had two pairs of eyes, but how did their system fail to show me as an existing client and that another tax pro had already done my taxes LOL. That said, I still had to sit there and confirm all of my personal information again (A waste of my time.) And don't even get me started on their scheduling system. I had a man in front of me come in for an appointment and his pro was apparently double booked. They're all over the place. I think the straw that broke the camel's back was wherever Ursula had put my original forms, they could not find them. I had to leave and come back to pick them up when they found them. Again, what a waste of my time and pretty unprofessional. Why did I just pay $350 minus the $70 new customer charge for so much incompetence? I was looking forward to sitting down with a pro who could really walk me through everything and answer my questions and give me advice and guidance, and I did not receive any of that at all. There are a number of things wrong here from the system, the scheduling system, the employees and the management. It's evident this place is not managed too well because the employees are scattered. Next time, I'm doing them on my own again or hiring an accountant who seem to be more affordable than h&R block these days. ?

DO NOT DO YOUR TAXES HERE! I had the worst experience ever here. My tax pro Ursula was brain dead and never returned my calls until over a week later, she dropped the ball over and over again doing my taxes! She entered for me to get a paper check when I explicitly told her over and over I wanted direct deposit. They told me they couldn’t process my return because I had outstanding fees which was a lie but I paid anyways. I’m still waiting on my return in the mail and it was supposed to be here by now. Stay away from Ursula! She should be fired for what she put my through. And NO ONE cares what she put me through and can’t help me track down my return! DO NOT GO TO URSULA AND DO NOT GO TO H AND R BLOCK! They don’t care about your return and once they submit it they’ve washed their hands of it! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE I WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN! SHAME ON THE WHOLE COMPANY

Scheduling was an absolute utter disaster.Showed up for an appointment that apparently wasn't on their calendar.Walked out without rescheduling to avoid the aggravation.

I've done my taxes with H&R block for a number of years online. I made an appointment this year to go in person. They called me 2 hours before my appointment to cancel because they had another appointment. The conversation was confusing and frustrating. The woman I spoke with was not remotely helpful, and I became more discouraged as the call continued. I eventually canceled completely. I probably won't ever work with H&R block again. I was disappointed in that entire interaction. She seemed relieved when I said I would just cancel.

Had an appointment for 11 am I went in the front lady told she couldn’t take me in cause I didn’t check in prior to the appointment I was like I made the appointment 2 weeks ago online why would I need to check in thru phone if the appointment was already made
