Great place to work and to train, I trained there everyday no waiting in line to use equipment the gym is always kept clean and very organized all the trainers are experienced James is very knowledgeable best in the business

Definitely the place to go for one-on-one focused training. I was going 3-4 days a week over 2 years and no day was ever the same. The trainers are focused only on you and your goals and are quick to adapt your training program as you improve. There is no limit to what you can achieve when supported by the team at Excel Fitness PT.

I was in search for a personal trainer for a few weeks prior to stumbling across Excel and once I saw their sign on the outside of their gym for personal trainers I decided I would check it out. I am currently training to compete in obstacle racing and I wanted to find a trainer who could help me work on my form, increasing my strength, and grow as an athlete. From the moment my workout buddy and I met James, he was friendly, positive, incredibly knowledgable and kicked our asses in the best way possible. At the FREE assessment, he asked us about our goals, we completed a brief fitness test, and then on the spot, he explained to us where our bodies are weak and what our strengths were. I also addressed my knee issue (patella tracking disorder) to James and explained how when I went to physical therapy, they basically told me to never jump, lunge, run or squat. At each session he would make sure my knee was feeling ok and would modify the work out if need be to help strengthen my knee. He wasn't afraid to correct form and explain anything that I had questions in regards to fitness and health. My workout partner and I have similar fitness levels which made the sessions challenging for both of us and he picked up on our strengths and weaknesses and helped us grow stronger. Each session was extremely different then the previous and I highly appreciated the timely manner he held. At 7 on the dot me and my buddy were supposed to be already warmed up and ready to go and he would end promptly at 8. He was extremely professional and also very personable. I cannot wait to return back to Excel and work with James since he honestly has shown me so many new moves and pushed my body physically to spots that I didn't even image.

LOVE. LOVE. LOVE!! James is incredible.....as is the other staff staff/trainers...TRX is amazing....I am feeling the muscles toning...it's a great workout with extra special attention/1 on 1 like no other!!!

Facility is dirty and high staff turnover. They have some great trainers, but difficult to get into their schedules.

I've been coming to this place for almost three years now and, I have to say, it has been life-changing. Let me take a step back: I went through pretty much all of my 30's being entirely sedentary. My focus was on my career and growing my law practice, and in doing so, I neglected my body. I wasn't fat, per se, but I was soft and had almost no core to speak of. I realized just how out of shape I was one day when I was jumping on the trampoline with my kids and felt winded after just a couple of minutes. I got a gym membership at a New York Sports Club but the trainers there were practically useless. They tended to look like the cast of a CW show and were more interested in texting and talking to the other trainers than being genuinely helpful. They were intimidating and they just didn't care. That's when I found James. And this is what makes James and his crew so special. They don't condescend you, they don't look down on you, they don't judge you. They just take you and make you stronger. I started there in September 2013. Now here it is, July 2016, and I'm a different person. I'm much stronger and have far greater endurance. I'm healthier and I actually think I look younger and better than I ever did when I was in my 30's. And more importantly, I genuinely enjoy working out because I know what I'm doing. I'm not lost when I walk into a gym: I know exactly what I want to work on, and what the proper form is. Seriously... If you are out of shape, if you want to get into shape, and if you are too intimidated or self-conscious or just not educated enough about what to do in order to do that... Go to James. I am not joking when I say that this has been a life-changing experience for me.
