I brought my cat in late on a Friday afternoon, The tip of his tail had been severely injured. Dr. Vokral looked at it, she chose to stay late that night to perform emergency surgery & send him home with me on the same night. She made sure that he didn’t suffer one minute longer than he had to. The level of care we received was wonderful. Colonial cares for your pet like a person.. now isn’t that what you want for your baby?? Top notch service and care from genuinely nice people. Colonial will be our family vet for the foreseeable future.

This was our Siamese cat's first visit to this Vet, and we had an exceptional experience. This office staff are kind, knowledgeable and efficient. From my initial call to set up an appointment (easy!), to our actual visit to the office, everything was seamless. I especially appreciate the care provided to my cat (cyst bleeding on her neck and routine check up) and the professionalism of the staff. They did not try to scare or upsell me on anything. They were upfront about costs and gave me options. I haven't always experienced this at other vets. Thank you for everything!

Liked this place was comfortable however when my dog who sometimes gets a fungal infection/hot spots from pool had the same issue she’s always had we called for a refill of her prescription. She is a 10 year old German shepherd we rescued who has to be completely sedated and muzzled to come to the vet. Instead of kindly refilling the prescription they insisted it’s protocol she must be seen. Instead of just refilling the prescription and charging me whatever they wanted they insisted i sedate and muzzle the 10 year old dog just to confirm what we already know. Called petco vet the prescription was done in 5 minutes. Really upset because we actually liked this vet I would
Have paid them whatever they wanted but I wasn’t sedating muzzling and bringing her in just for this. What’s upsetting is the business of charging their fees is more important than the health of the dog. Sedating her at that age is much more dangerous than the antibiotic for a rash!! Disappointed!!

This Facility is NOT An emergency as stated on their website! We rushed our lab to COLONIAL on Saturday morning due to an infection with massive amount of bleeding. We explain the situation to the receptionist while our daughter waited in the car with our dog. We never once were able to see a doctor, And the receptionist told us that they were very busy. The website states that an emergency you’ll be seen “within minutes”. Our daughter waited in the car with our dog for 20 minutes while the receptionist was afraid to inter One of the doctors to tell them our situation. When she returned, she told us that the doctors were seeing other patients and that they had appointments that morning and that our bleeding dog who is wrapped and towels, and a comforter in the car would not be able to be seen Until the afternoon. Needless to say, we left and went to Garden State animal Hospital and will never ever return to COLONIAL. I’m writing this review because we are beloved pet owners and animal lovers and we want the best care for our furry family members and we know that , others too as well.

There are an infinite number of good things that I can say about Colonial Animal Hospital. The kindness and compassion that Jamie, Dr. Schindewolf, and everyone else in the office showed my girl was unmatched. They were knowledgeable, informative and most importantly honest. They cared for my dog as if she was their own and I felt confident with their recommendations. I can’t thank them enough.

We just moved here recently, and my Yorkie Jimmy gets car sick so I was excited that they literally are down the block from us. I had their well visits to get established and came back for a visit when my havanese Nicky was having an issue two months ago. Amanda the tech is so sweet and great w my boys and Dr Vokral is also so sweet and great w them. So far I’m very happy with them and feel so blessed that they are literally a minute away.

I have not visited Colonial Animal Hospital but Dr. Schindewolf literally saved my cat's life a few years back when he was with another facility. The other vets at the prior facility basically told me it was time to put my cat down due to untreated (unknown at the time) diabetes which was shutting down his organs. Dr. Schidewolf treated him aggressively for weeks and saved his life! Dr. Schindewolf, Weezy Caruso is still alive and well thanks to you! I was not at all happy with the prior facility in all aspects but Dr. Schindewolf was WONDERFUL! I am so happy to see that he is with a new (and has to be better) establishment.

Dr. Vokral is honestly the best Veterinarian! She treated my 3 dogs. She always cared for them and had great alternatives for them if needed. Even though I am sad she moved we wish her the best!
