I had the best experience ever with Collingswood Sew&Vac .I dropped off my sewing machine on a Saturday , they emailed me on Monday with the details of the repairs needed and a price .After giving the go ahead with the repairs they called me on Friday and said it was finished and ready for pickup .i couldn’t be happier ,and my machine is running beautifully. From the initial phone call to getting directions to the store and where to park the experience was top notch and I highly recommend them !

Marc is a wonderful technician and human being. I needed to replace my 50-year-old sewing machine because the motor had gone. I also wanted to place the new machine in the cabin at my father bought me in high school. Marc was the only one to help me achieve the goal. We work together and found the right machine and he was kind enough to drill two holes in the bottom of the cabinet so I could mount it. He gave me a tutorial on how to set up the machine including bobbin and threading. This is old fashioned service with kindness. There is no one else in my opinion in the area or anywhere that gives this kind of service. Thank you Marc

My entire experience at this store was fantastic. Mark refurbished my vintage Kenmore sewing machine, and it is running like new, all for a very reasonable price. When I picked it up, Mark demonstrated a couple of tips to keep my machine running well, and included a written copy of the information in the box with my machine. Talk about going the extra mile! The whole team is friendly and professional. Quotes for repairs are free, they will help you get your machine to and from your car (so nice when it's as heavy as mine is!). Highly recommend!

Wear a mask!! They can fix almost anything plus they also sell new. They do have a MASK only rule. Been there for at least 20 years.

Mama Walton: "You take that 18-year-old Kenmore vacuum cleaner and you THROW it off the back porch!" John Boy: "But, Mama. Authorized Sew and Vac fixed it. It runs again." (With apologies to "The Homecoming" [1971]) Yes. Don't give up on that vacuum cleaner that has suddenly stopped working. Take it to A.S. & V. They will fix it, fix it right (other shops are NOT as competent) and clean it before returning it to you, and at a fair price. Super friendly staff who will give you honest opinions about vacuums and sewing machines. If they can fix your machine, they will. If it is beyond hope, they will honestly tell you that it must be given the Gang Gong, and will give their best advice on quality replacements (They do not sell machines that are simply cheap. Their recommended machines have value, because they work well and are durable. In the end, that saves you time and frustration, as Mama Walton was experiencing.). Among the few brands that meet their vacuum all-star criteria are Reccar (made in USA! USA! USA!), Miele (top-rated by CR and the NY Times Wirecutter Section) and Simplicity. Small problems with A.S.& V. are the sketchy parking in Collingswood (They will tell you to park RIGHT at the corner on Collings, where it meets Haddon Ave. Do not worry; you won't get a ticket.) and that they still insist that you wear a mask inside the store; they will provide one if you forget yours. Please: No more machines tossed into the yard. Take your "broken" vacuum or sewing machine to Authorized Sew and Vac. They will heal it. Listen to John Boy. (And yes, my 18-year-old Kenmore now cleans twice as well as before bringing it to A.S.&V.)

Mark is really friendly, very knowledgeable and genuine. I initially came in for repair on a sewing machine and ultimately ended up purchasing a brand new Babylock. I'm happy to take my business to this shop and look forward to working with them in the future when my new machine needs maintenance.

I brought my Bernina 830 Record in for a diagnostic test. The team quickly gave me prices & choices as to repairs. I was accommodated by the owner who came out to the street to bring the machine in for me. In 1 week it was ready for pick up. After paying, they brought it out to my car. My vintage Bernina is running like a dream!

I will update my review after my machine gets serviced but this place already has 5 stars! They are the only place I’ve found that doesn’t charge to look at my machine. Every place I’ve called charges an astronomical (we are talking $100’s) fee to just look at it let alone repair it. It’s great that they take a look. Lets you know what’s wrong and give you a qoute to fix it. Then you get to decide!

Mark Ott has such a great business. They fix just about any vacuum cleaner or sewing machine that is causing you chaos. Very honest and fair pricing also. They also sell sewing machines and vacuum cleaners.

If , I had listened to all the advertising on tv and everywhere , I would have spent 800 dollars and it would NOT HAVE ACCOMPLISHED WHAT I WAS TRYING TO CLEAN … These folks asked me all THE RIGHT QUESTIONS AND ThenRECOMMENDED A COUPLE OF OPTIONS !!! I am soooo glad I called and then purchased there !!!!!Shop with confidence !!!! My purchase is quieter and helps with allergies and most importantly ,,,, cleans much better !!!!
