I have been a loyal Bank of America customer since the late 1990s, maintaining a substantial balance over the years. However, the consistently poor customer service—especially from the branch manager, Tom—has made me seriously question my loyalty.
Recently, I experienced fraudulent activity on my account and sought assistance. Tom initially forwarded my call to the fraud department, which then transferred me twice before the call was disconnected. Frustrated, I went to the branch in person, only to have Tom dismissively suggest that I contact the other bank involved in the attempted withdrawal. His lack of effort or concern made it clear that staying with BOA was no longer an option.
That same day, I closed my account and transferred my funds to 1st Colonial Bank in Collingswood, where I already hold another account. The contrast in customer service was staggering. At 1st Colonial, the staff is genuinely helpful and professional—nothing like the dismissive attitude I experienced with Tom at BOA.
I also contacted BOA corporate to report this incident and request to speak with the branch’s supervisor. It’s been two weeks, and I’ve yet to receive a call or even an email.
If you’re considering a local, brick-and-mortar bank, I strongly urge you to do your research. Based on my experience, I highly recommend 1st Colonial Bank for its exceptional customer service—something Bank of America clearly lacks.

The manager Tom was super helpful and a great asset to this branch. Also Francisca always has a smile on her face and willing to help. My favorite Bank of America !

Had a great experience setting up an account -Francesca was above and beyond helpful, I didn’t catch the tellers name but she as well was nothing but helpful and kind - Great branch wish all Bank of Americas were as helpful and professional as this branch is!

Attempted to withdraw money from a pre-paid Bank of America ATM card. I was told they are unable to help me (although previous bank of America’s have had no problem). I even spoke with the manager, who also refused to help. As a person of Hispanic heritage I believe this played a part, I will be filing for discrimination.
