After trial and error of attending several summer camps, my son has attended this summer camp for 4 summer’s (including this summer). In short, best summer camp, ever! There is a reason all the slots are taken by February of each year. The camp counselors, the campers, the activities, the animals, the field trips all make this camp the best in the region, if not the state.

Lindgren is the most magical place. Some may see a dirty lot but if you look at it through the eyes of a child you’ll see adventure, inclusion, discovery, enrichment and a nurturing foundation for your little ones. In a global pandemic this team went above and beyond to keep the kids safe. The kids never noticed something was “wrong” because the teachers and faculty made sure of it. The crafts the kids come home with are exceptional. I was worried my kid wouldn’t be “learning” because they’re outside playing all day but I was wrong. The things he says and the actions he demonstrates prove they know what they’re doing there. The staff has all been there for so many years and truly care about the kids and their families. When you drive up the road to Lindgren you know you’re entering a safe space for kids and families of all walks of life. It’s truly a special place and we’re so lucky to have found it.

Lindgren is a truly magical place. In a school year like no other, the Lindgren school did the unimaginable and pulled off the most unforgettable experience for our son emersed completely in the outdoors. It was a safe haven where he could play in the mud, go for hikes in the "enchanted forest", make mud pies in the kitchen, chase the chickens and feed the goats, and make the most wonderful friends. We will miss the long drive up where Max would stand up in the sunroof eager to jump out of the car to greet his friends. To say we are grateful would be a huge understatement. We will miss you Lindgren. Thank you for giving Max, and us, memories we will forever cherish.

My son attends the prek program part time. This is his first year away from me, so there were some tears in the beginning. However, at pick up, he is all smiles. This is a nursery program that has a large outdoor playground in a natural setting. The school is next to closter nature center. They also have small animals like goats, pigs, rabbits and ponies. Roosters and chickens freely roam on site. I also love that the school focuses on free play and imagination which are so valuable and underrated in early childhood.

Both of my children are proud graduates of Lindgren. My younger one’s last year got cut short because of COVID but the teachers made sure my son felt loved and cared even after he had graduated. Thank you for giving my children magical preschool years they’ll treasure for a long time!

I am a grandmother and my three grand children went to Lindgren Summer Camp. This summer my middle girl will works as a life guard at the pool and my smaller grand daughter will work as a counselor. I volunteered one year to help in the sewing table and had a ball, falling even more in love with it. My name was used to write a bad review about Lindgren school and summer camp and I regret the fact that I don't know how to find out who did it. I made many friends there and all my family including me think of Lindgren as the answer to properly bond children with nature by interacting with plants, animals, and everything that you can imagine older generations had it for granted. Lindgren offers those beautiful outdoor activities to our children today. If there were more stars to place on this review, I would select the highest. Aida R Capo

I've been attending this camp for nine years now (as a camper for six and a counselor in training for three years), and there hasn't been a single year when I haven't enjoyed being there and looked forward to it immensely. The only obligatory activity is a half-hour long swim class for kids aged 4-9. Otherwise, the whole day is blissful free time with a variety of choices of activities. They include arts and crafts, beading/stitchery, animals, woodwork, clay, mud excavation, a playground, gardening, dance, yoga, cooking, theater, fossil digging, you name it! The staff is very kind and helpful, and everything is completely safe. There are 2 nurses on staff and a counselor to camper ratio of about 1-5. The counselors check to make sure their whole group is there every 45 minutes to hour. I strongly recommend this camp to any parent looking for a place where their kid can have a good time.

The only place I would send my preschooler, but probably not for everyone.

All three of my children have attended preschool here. Great staff, great philosophy, great programs and great playground. Here kids can be kids. They're not rushed. Childhood is protected, curiosity encouraged and questions welcome. My kids have come home with stories, songs and lots of dirt on their faces and in their shoes- all signs of a good day!
