Northern Valley Feed and Turf
207 Closter Dock Rd, ClosterI've been having trouble with SPARROWS overtaking my bird feeders and scaring away even blackbirds, grackles, parrots by their sheer numbers! They also empty my feeders in 1 afternoon.
I'd been purchasing small, expensive bags of birdseed that sparrows don't like and it was just ridiculous. Then I found Northern Valley and called them yesterday. I got the owner, Michael, and he confirmed that they had the seeds I wanted at a much better price and in larger bags.
I went today and Michael and I discussed the different seeds and confirmed that what I was purchasing made sense for managing my gangster sparrows. Good prices for safflower, Nyjer, suet. And Michael is a genuinely funny and personable guy. It was a pleasure!

Pet Care

Closter Animal Hospital
137 Piermont Rd, ClosterWhat an amazing Veterinary Practice! We brought our new puppy to see Dr. Maida last week for a puppy exam and to discuss vaccines and her general health. He did a thorough exam on her and told us we can bring her back this week for her booster vaccine and a checkup. She had her booster vaccine today and while we were checking out she threw up. Dr. Maida and his staff jumped into immediate action assessing little girl and confirming she was having an anaphylaxis reaction due to the vaccine. They immediately treated her with steroids and fluids and monitored her until she was stable and ready to go home. They continued to check on her and us and answered every question we had with compassion, kindness and understanding. We were both extremely nervous as we had never seen this happen and she is a tiny 2lb 12 week old puppy.Emergency aside, Dr. Maida is an extremely knowledgeable and patient vet who answered every single one of our questions about our new pup and helped us make appropriate decisions regarding her care. The office and exam rooms are clean and all of the staff are kind and welcoming. I have never felt so comfortable with a Veterinarian and if you live in the area, they are worth a visit for your pet.Thank you so much Dr. Maida and all of the staff at Closter Animal Hospital.

Pet-Friendly Restaurants

La Tabatiere
303 Herbert Ave, ClosterArtichoke pastry, coffee. Visited as soon as it opened in the morning. I was surprised at how sincere this bakery is as almost all the breads are on display as soon as they open. The quality of the artichoke pastry was flawless and delicious.

Patisserie Florentine
242 Closter Dock Rd, ClosterI visited the Patisserie Florentine and can say that from start to finish, it was a GREAT experience. The staff was kind, attentive, and professional. We ordered two hot chocolates, which came quickly with BEAUTIFUL art. The food was fresh and DELICIOUS.
Sadly, customers can be very impatient and lack an understanding for what it takes to receive quality coffee, food and service. The negative reviews are uncalled for. If you want a quick coffee go to Dunkin. Don’t be unfair to the hard working staff.
Thank you to Jacob, Giovanna, and Madeline for providing AMAZING service! And to the chefs, thank you!
