I cannot praise too highly the service I received from Rob in the Closter NJ location when I visited to learn what I needed to know about trim and molding for three rooms in my home. He was a very good listener, patient with a novice like me, and he knew what he was talking about. He was not highly opinionated, did not take advantage of my ignorance, but he truly wanted me to learn enough so that I could make my own decisions. What a delight.

We were first introduced to Dykes Lumber by Del & Paul coming to our home to measure doors for the whole house and give us an estimate. They both were very pleasant and professional, as well as extremely helpful.Once we received the estimate, Del suggested what doors would be best for us and we picked out the hardware. He gave us a starting date, the time of arrival of his crew, and the approximate date of completion. All were exactly as promised. We were so amazed at how wonderful the entire staff was from the day of delivery until the day of completion.The workers assigned to our project, Joel & Matt were phenomenal, knowledgeable, very pleasant, and extremely neat workers. They were without a doubt one of the best workers we have ever dealt with. Dave, Paul and Del monitored the entire project and made sure all promised work was being completed.We would highly recommend this company and we are thrilled with the finished product. We are looking forward to working with them again very soon.Thank you to all.

I felt unwelcome during my recent visit. The salesperson (John L.) working on my proposal came off very indifferent. It’s too bad because the product looks great. Overall not happy with the customer experience, especially considering the amount of money I was planning to spend.

They have a great yard and lots of items but their pricing structure is setup for people who don't care/know about pricing or for commercial accounts who overpay and bill to their customers. I called today for 2x4x10PT pricing ... i rec'd a $28 quote. Current Lowes pricing is $8.88 .... Got to be honest, this is the 4th time i have tried to use them over the last couple of years as they are local to me (literally i could walk there) but everytime i ask for pricing, i find it at least double what current pricing is. Sorry, i just find them unusable based on pricing alone.

I have purchased a few items at this shop. Your experience will depend on who attends to your needs. I witnessed at least one employee speak disrespectfully of their clients (the mentality there is that home owners should not shop with them because they don't know what they are doing/asking for). Today I called to ask about an interior door and was rudely denied the information because I didn't sound proficient enough on the subject. Perhaps the owner of this establishment will remind his people that the "owners", who they seem to really dislike, are the ones paying for the material purchased. Unfortunately, one person's unprofessionalism can discourage future business - as it did in this case.

Friendly and helpful workers. Came here after returning some bad lumber from lowes. Definitely found my new lumber supplier. For the materials I got, the prices and quality were better.
