Absolutely awful. I dropped off 2 Mohel knives and specifically told him that he had to be careful not to scratch it. He did exactly that, made divets and knicks. Had to go to Bianco Brothers in Brooklyn to fix it and it cost me double because they had to fix the work he did. Absolutely awful experience.

If it’s possible to make a knife sharpener than being sharp, they do it. Incredible knife, sharpening blades been going there for years.

Why didn't/haven't you learned another language? The number system used in the US is Arabic, and you sure seem to know how money works. You are not worth $10. No way in hell you make $60/hr.

I live 30-40 min away from the store and it is totally worth the drive. I have japanese knives and would not trust them with the "truck guy". Expert service, reliable, fair price and fast turnaroud.

Go here while you can for all your sharpening needs. My Heankels knives love to go there. They come out so sharp they can cut your eye just by looking at them. And I’d have paid a lot more than he charged too. Dave is the best.

Love this place, Top quality work, single owner operator. He’s a bit of a curmudgeon enjoy him while it lasts, a dying breed.

Dave makes a knife so sharp you can split a hair. Took him a completely dull carving knife got it back basically sharpened into a samurai sword ...cut a roll of paper towels in half like a laser. Also took him my 2 everyday carry pocket folders that I had broken the tips off.( was using them like a screwdriver)...got them back better than new... highly recommend.... old world quality craftsmanship that won't be around forever

Warning!! No honesty or integrity here. I brought in three knives and a small hatchet and explained to the owner that the price would determine how many of the items I would have him sharpen. He verbally quoted me $25.00 for all four. I agreed and he gave me a claim ticket without the fee written on it. When I went to pick them up he told me I had to pay $36.00. After reminding him of his original quote he said he had "made a mistake". That's no way to do business. If you screwed up, suck it up and retain your customer and your reputation.

I don't care about his politics. He sharpened my tools. They work great. It's a cutting store not a political debate club.

He is very good at his work and the best I 've seen, The only slight problem is that on many occasions he doesn't open up or shows up Saturdays like the sign thats posted that its open on Saturdays at 10am... The guy is 74 years old !!! its understandable that he can't keep up with the work load But he still does a very good job !! Hopefully he will sell the business to someone with the same caliber but much younger.

Excellent old school business. You don't see these around anymore. The guy knows what he's doing. He's honest and gets the job done the right way. I used to bring my chainsaw chains to another shop - turns out they've been sharpening them wrong for years. When he sharpens them- they come out great.
