Rescued a kitten and brought it to the shelter for it to get help. I had expressed my intention of adopting the kitten when I brought him in. He was eating and running, but he was very thin— I figured at least if he was off the street he would make it. I put in for adoption request that night and they called back in the morning and called him “a pathetic little kitten.” They then called me back later in the day and said “that he didn’t make it.” Something seems suspicious, if they didn’t want to help him they should have given him back to me. I figured leaving him with them would put him in better hands as I’ve never nursed a kitten back to health before. I feel like I signed his death sentence bringing him here. And the “pathetic little kitten” just confirmed that.

We recently adopted our dog here. They were easy to work with. We absolutely adore him! And he's enjoying chasing the squirrels up the tree in the backyard and all of the attention he's been getting.

If you are looking for a new pet, I highly recommend coming here. The staff geniunly cares for the animals, and they are all so awesome. There are so many wonderful animals that need a home. I recently adopted a dog from GCAS, and we are so happy to have him as part of our family. He is a joy to have, and my older dog loves her baby brother.

(this review is in regard to animal control, not the animal shelter) over the past few days, my family & I noticed an orange and white cat roaming around our neighborhood and yesterday decided to take a nap in our backyard under a tree, at first glance it didn’t seem like anything strange other than a stray cat, however as I approached it I could tell that it was extremely sick and emaciated and was struggling to breathe. As such, I did what any compassionate and rational person would do and decided to give the shelter a call to see what could be done to help this poor cat, low and behold I ended up on the phone with animal control and when I explained the situation to the lady on the phone she began to accuse me of calling multiple times and said that she had already told me the cat was my property as I had already begun feeding it (mind you, I have never spoken to this lady before or fed this cat at all, it had just shown up. So I had no idea what she was talking about) I continued and explained that I was just looking for next steps and advice to see what I could do for the cat and she began to demand me to give her my address but after I gave her an approximate location she got angry and continued to demand me to give her my property address. Anyhow, before we hung up, she basically told me she could dispatch animal control but they would probably just end up euthanizing this cat. So now i’m without any solutions and a sickly cat roaming my property. I wish I could give ZERO stars. BEWARE.

I have a dead rabbit on my porch. Im a senior citizen and I need help. County office transferred me police dispatcher. Neither one was helpful. Police dispatcher said call exterminator. I decided to call my MUA and left a message because it's Sunday. I hope someone calls me with help.

This shelter is a dedicated group of individuals. We have adopted several of our furry family members from here. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and willing to help where needed. in these times of limited resources and volunteers, they do a phenomenal job caring for the animals in need! Check them out for your new family member!

My experience with this shelter was amazing. I originally went in looking at one dog but when I came back a few days later he was adopted so they suggested I see another dog that they recommended. She was perfect. I was just recovering from a debilitating stroke & was looking for a companion to share my day with. That was 13 years ago. She was an amazing, sweet soul & a staple in our household. Her personality really blossomed after about a week of her coming to be a part of our lives & she had me laughing every day since. We've donated throughout the years & the staff has always been very nice & helpful. Now that my furbaby had crossed over to Rainbow Bridge I'm thinking of volunteering here to pay it forward. ???

We had a situation with an outdoor neighborhood cat. Gloucester County Animal Shelter was able to work with us on getting her back and now she lives comfortably in our home. They were really great and we appreciate their help.

We reached out interested in a young husky that had been at the shelter for several months. We were told that he had some food aggression and didn’t always like to be put back into the kennel. Things we can work on. What they didn’t tell us is that he attempted to bite the workers and that they had problems with him in the kennel. They didn’t tell us that till we returned him two days later after he had bit myself and my daughter. They allowed a dangerous dog to be adopted and did not tell us. We could have been terribly hurt. We never would have taken the dog if we had known he bites. I feel horrible that I put my family in danger. And on top of all of that they will not refund the adoption fee.

Don't bother doing anything with this rescue until they decide to get of Phyilis.
