We shared 3 pizzas-plain, buffalo chicken & artichoke. All were delicious. Plenty of beer options. This was a family gathering post Cherry Blossom bicycle racing event.

Absolutely absurdly good pizza. Mussels marinara was amazing as well. Strongly recommend.
The Star Tavern has been a traditional family favorite for delicious, thin crust pizza served hot & lively in an atmosphere humming with 75+ years of neighborhood character.
It isn't the result of any secret ingredient that makes what the New York Times declares "superior" pizza. Its fame and good fortune is as much a result of the generations of families who consistently return as it is the great & inexpensive food you receive time at the time.
The Star, as it is affectionately called, sits in the northern end of Orange, a wisp away from Glen Ridge, Montclair & West Orange. Star's clamorous kitchen, in full view to the customer & always active with hand signals, voices and swirling ingredients, is open for dine-in & takeout everyday.
