My anger with this company just grows each day that passes. We lost a very healthy energetic min-pin due to theyre inability to properly diagnose her sudden illness that worsened over the course of TWO WEEKS where she stopped eating and drinking after a week into the illness, but was prescribed meds that needed to be taken with food - heres the outcome of her death so not to bore you with the details - she suffered from leptospirosis that took about 10 minutes for another vet to diagnose- it's all in the questions that were asked - one initial blood test at black river and no other blood test as she deteriorated during the two weeks of being "treated" at black river . Who am I most mad at? Myself. I allowed this mistreatment by them to continue for two weeks. On the last Saturday of her life I asked that she be given an IV treatment at home but was denied because they thought she didn't need it. Two things I can recommend to you and you can either take my advice or make sure you have the phone number of Abby Glen. Get you animals vaccinated for leptospirosis and find another vet. The doctors here are great and that's why we keep returning. Pricing is expensive and the woman at the front desk told us to find a new vet when we called about our invoice after we left and got the email. We took our dog in for a routine allergy shot and to have her glands done. They charged us $65 on top of what we went in for calling it a "medical progress visit" saying they examined a bump on her side and gums. It's like taking a dog in for their nails clipped and them claiming they need to inspect the nails to determine they're long enough. Beware, and ask for pricing of the visit up front. That was what we were told we should have done. We will be finding a new vet after this.

I would never trust any doctor with my pets who break their hippocratic oath by signing off on the inhumane gassing of innocent animals. I'm entitled to my opinion and freedom of speech and I should never be threatened for sharing that opinion... I won't be returning to Black River ever again, unfortunately.

Dr. Jamie Murphy believes gassing animals is a humane form of euthanasia. I would be very, very wary of bringing your pets here.

I specifically ask for Michelle Hewitt however all the vets, techs, assistants and really all of the staff are so kind and caring of your animals and will always go above and beyond. Highly recommend to anyone!!!

I will always be grateful for the ongoing care that Dr Hewitt and Dr Vex provided for my cats. They are both very knowledgeable and caring. Also thankful for the care provided by Dr Tack and Dr Wall for emergency / tests. I highly recommend Black River Veterinary Hospital.

It's the best rating place, and it did show when I brought my 14-year-olds Charlie for a check up, they provided a throughly check-up on him it handled professionally. Highly recommended.

Dr Tack and his staff are the most competent, caring and compassionate Veterinary staff you will find. I have raised working dogs for over 25 years, and only wish that I had found the Black River Veterinary hospital sooner. Dr Tack is not only an extremely talented Veterinarian, but he is an even better human being and is a model for his profession! Many thanks from me and Mae for the incredible care and kindness that was given to her!

I have never seen a vet office with so many different caring and compassionate doctors, nurses and staff. They go the extra mile with everything they do, they understand when you are struggling and help when they can. I never want to switch vets because of that.
