We hired this company to remodel our kitchen. I explained exactly what the expectations were, which was to install new cabinets, new countertops, new backsplash, knock down the existing wall and breakfast nook, and make an island. We purchased the cabinets and quartz countertops from them and all additional supplies we purchased from HD or Lowes and supplied them with the material. We were quoted an amount that was less than what we expected to pay, but hey, they seemed to be a reputable business so we agreed. They arrived on time and the work looks pretty good from afar; however, up close, there’s so many flaws. First, they left everything a mess! Left water bottles, extra wood, and trash everywhere. They didn’t clean up anything! Secondly, the cabinets at the top are uneven and they said it was due to the ceiling being a little uneven. So instead of them caulking it neatly to close the gap, they just left the gap between the cabinet and the ceiling. Third, they did not seal the spaces left between the floor and the cabinets. Lastly, they never finished smoothing out the ceiling from where the wall was demolished. I assumed if you demolish a wall, you will make the new wall and ceiling look finished. We ended up paying our painter to put more plaster and smooth out the ceiling. He explained the ceiling job looked rushed and incomplete.
I do like the look of my kitchen but my husband and I should not have to do additional caulking, plastering, and grouting if we specifically said we wanted the kitchen redone. It should look finished when the job is completed. I wish we had the experience other reviewers had, but unfortunately we did not. If you’re quoted a price that’s lower than you expect, then I guess you should expect a not so thorough job
****Update: I’m thoroughly disappointed. While their plumber was checking on a problem, the entire sink fell out. Per their plumber, the sink wasn’t put in securely. He had to reapply the sink. On top of us having to pay our own plumber to unclog the drain that was backed up due to debris from the work being done on the sink. When my husband called the Rep, instead of apologizing, at least for the sink, he was just upset that I left a bad review. Evidently they do nice work sometimes, I’m guessing those in urban communities are not that fortunate to receive their best work.
I told my husband, from the beginning I would have rather gone with Family and Friends Home Improvement in Philadelphia. They are more expensive but worth it!! They finished our basement and constructed our deck and everything was A+!!! Husbands sometimes you have to listen to your wife lol.
