Pack-Rat's moving wizards not only transported my belongings but also managed to sprinkle a bit of magic to make the entire experience delightful and stress-free.

PackRat picked up our container 4 days late, then guaranteed a 5-day "Expedited" delivery, and never showed up! They postponed our delivery three times and each time we were postponed we had to cancel movers that were scheduled to unpack and deliver our furniture and other contents. The last cancellation, we were called at 5:10 pm the night before we were promised a “guaranteed” morning delivery! We had to scramble once again to line up a mover on such short notice. We were told our POD had arrived to your storage facility in West Palm Beach near our destination of Boca Raton Florida when in reality the wrong POD was delivered to Florida from NJ. Once our POD finally arrived, once again on the wrong date promised, our contents were damaged. We are in the process of photographing the damages and completing your claim form for reimbursement for the damages. In all, our POD arrived almost 3 weeks late from the original promised delivery, which meant our daughter had to sleep on a hardwood floor and live out of her suitcase for almost 3 weeks while starting a new job in Boca Raton Florida without her clothes, furniture, and personal items. WE WILL NEVER RECOMMEND PACKRAT TO ANYONE AND WILL MAKE SURE TO SHARE OUR EXPERIENCES TO ANYONE CONSIDERING HIRING YOUR COMPANY. We have moved numerous times in our 39 years of marriage and NEVER have we had such an unprofessional, incompetent and reckless moving experience. Your customer service department is no better, and seemed like they could care less about what was happening to us. We were told by one of your employees, who shall remain nameless and was the only truthful employee we spoke to, that the wrong container was transported to Florida from NJ and that our container never left your storage facility in Cherry Hill NJ after it was picked up! HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE??? It is difficult to believe that PackRat can even continue to exist as a business treating its customers as they do and even lying to them. Moving is stressful enough without having to deal with such an inept, deceitful, lying, and reckless company!

Be mindful of the cancel clause they are more concerned with collecting the fine than providing a service. Our sellers got cold feet and did everything to back out of the contract and we wanted to cancel when we got to the first delivery date. The customer service rep said are you sure or do you want to push the date so we weren’t sure and we knew we were going to move so we pushed. Things get hectic they with drew the deposit and I called them again to confirm we did not have a closing date and not to ship containers but we still plan on moving so hold the money. Yesterday they call to cancel and returned my deposit minus a fee. I won’t me a good reference and I won’t be using Pack Rat for my up coming move and my recommendation is find another company because they aren’t about customer service.I really did appreciate the follow up call from Pack Rat Customer Service they were understanding and supportive of our moving needs. They credited the remaining funds and I would use them when we figure out our current closing needs.

To start: Rented the PackRat (PR) for on-site residential storage. Used PR once before w/o issue. I guess the price was competitive (just under $300/mo for 16x8).My issue: When it was time for removal. TWO missed pickup dates & only an explanation for the 1st that “The driver ran out of hours.” - I can understand DOT regulations, things happen; HOWEVER, I did not receive an explanation as to why until I contacted PR. PR advised me of the issue & rescheduled me for 2 days later. That day came & went too, w/o explanation. After calling PR, AGAIN, I was simply added to the list for 3 days out & discounted apx $50-$70 of the removal fee. What I find the problem to be: The facility manager at Cherry Hill is terrible at their job. I was in text communication w/ “Tom” who has now stopped responding to calls & texts. “Tom,” whom I believe to be the facility manager, ruined my experience w/ PR.The break down:1 star b/c the unit did what it’s supposed to do (it sat there w/ stuff in it, keeping it safe from crime & the elements).1 star for the easy “booking” process & the folks in the call center who have all been polite & professional from start to finish.1/2 star (which doesn’t show) for the delivery, which was seamless.2.5 STARS-1 star because, competitive or not, $4800 for 16 months is expensive.-1/2 star for the total logistical failure of picking up the PR unit.-1 star for “Tom” who has ruined my experience w/ PR & for who is responsible for my statement that “I will never use PackRat again.” (Disclaimer: for the purpose of definitive information “Tom” will represent whoever & whatever system is in place that botched TWO scheduled pickup dates. I will happily make corrections to this post if PR reaches out w/ corrected person & facility information.)I hope your experience is better than my most recent. We’ll see if the unit is removed on 09/06 as scheduled for the 3rd time.

DO. NOT. USE. THEM. I cannot stress enough how bad this company is. My pod was scheduled to come 3 days ago and has not arrived yet. I have had to apply for parking permits, take off work, I have spent literal DAYS on hold with customer service for them to say "the driver is coming soon". The driver is not coming soon. I do not know what I have to do to get all of my stuff back. Please for the love of god do not use this moving company. They are worthless, and have given me nothing but headaches and wasted time while stealing my money and possessions.

My pod was supposed to arrive with all of my belongings 3 days ago. After taking off work, paying for a parking permit (metro area), and remaining on hold for literal DAYS, the useless reps can only say "the driver is on his way". The driver is NOT on his way. This company is thoughtless, incompetent, and beyond useless. I paid thousands for them to take all of my belongings and they have yet to tell me where it is or when it will arrive. For the love of god please do not bother using this company.

I had never utilized a Pods style service before my recent move. I currently live in an apartment which lease expired two days after my pod was to be delivered. Unfortunately for me the pod got delayed ... twice. It is now scheduled to arrive the day I move out. Additionally, I called the customer service hotline which then notified me of the hour wait I must sit in which I did. After the hour timeframe I was hung up on. Pay the extra money and go with a much more reliable service like Units or Pods.

I'm on hold now going on 4 hours. keep requesting call back, call back puts me on hold again. My pack rat was supposed to be delivered today but lift truck was broken so they couldn't deliver. No other details. I would like to know when to expect my things. They are supposed to pick up the empty pack rat in a day . Can't get hold of anyone, so sick of this piano music on hold!!!!!!

These folks deserve the 1 star they have on Yelp. If you hire them, they need a *55 FOOT CLEARANCE* on your street directly next to where the pod will go, which does not work on most urban streets. Even if you get a police permit (which I had) the neighbors park in some of the spots because they can't believe they truck could require that much room. They have a day and night-long "window" for pick up or drop off--unless you pay $50 extra--so you spend hours outside staring at your pod and fending off your neighbors who try to park there. This happens each time the truck has to pick up or drop off the pod, so a minimum of 4 times (drop off to fill it, pick up to take to storage, then drop off the pod with your stuff at your new house, then take it away). Calling customer services is a 45 minute wait if they even pick up, and you can't reach the driver directly, so GOOD LUCK! This was the worst part of my move. Will never deal with this company again. AVOID, AVOID.

We reached about a Pack Rat box two weeks before it was scheduled to arrive, got a contract and everything box doesn’t show up on scheduled date/time I call to inquire after they’ve already sent me a confirmation that they are coming that all of a sudden they don’t know if the box can fit down the street. We have tractor trailers and construction vehicles going up and down our street all day long and you can’t fit a 16’ box? Then I call back and they keep you on hold so long it forces you to hang up. This company is a joke 10/10 don’t recommend.

I recently had the opportunity to utilize the Pack Rat location in Cherry Hill. Payment details were clearly defined. The Pack Rat driver Tim was very personal and helpful with showing me how to operate and lock the doors. The pod was clean. Tim returned and delivered the Pack Rat Pod to the next location with a long driveway. All accomplished without incident!

Unit never showed up, even after confirming with multiple customer representatives that it was on its way. Very unreliable service. I do not recommend Pack rat if you’re on a time sensitive schedule. And they still tried to upcharge me for delivery scheduling fees.

I just had a 12 ft unit delivered to my house in a very difficult driveway and the delivery driver was so nice and accommodating! Probably not his easiest drop off but he did a GREAT JOB!

Unit was never delivered today and no one ever bothered to call to tell us and you can’t get anyone on the phone. My daughter has movers coming in the morning but there’s no where to pack up her stuff. What an awful way to run a business 1-800-Pack Rat. You’re the WORST!!! Take your business anywhere else.9
