This is an extremely unfavorable workplace. Most of the time, you'll be hired on a seasonal basis with promises of eventual full-time positions, but those promises are rarely fulfilled. Consequently, you'll miss out on overtime opportunities during holidays, chances for transfers, and career advancement options that are exclusively available to full-time associates. Unfortunately, there is no FlexRT (full-time flex with full-time benefits) offered here. The HR department is of little assistance, only available from 18:30 to 0200, and their tasks can easily be done through the Amazon network A TO Z. It would be beneficial to explore and learn about the various available resources since HR tends to waste time without achieving much. Additionally, there is a pervasive issue of favoritism. Ideally, employees should be rotated across multiple roles, such as counting, stowing, problem-solving, P.G., and promotions, based on their character and work ethic. This would ensure fairness and confidence among all employees, as everyone, except for PA's and OM/AMs, is paid the same. It would also reduce dissatisfaction from repetitive tasks like picking, which can be mentally draining. Unfortunately, the reality is different. If you're a woman who puts effort into your appearance, you are more likely to be assigned indirect roles. These roles involve minimal physical work, but still require substantial effort depending on whether you're in the inbound or outbound department. Examples of such roles are problem solvers (those individuals with laptop carts) and process guides (essentially lapdogs for process assistants who spend most of their time on their phones behind their laptop on their mobile carts). While attractive women are usually favored for these positions, I have also seen younger, attractive women assigned physically demanding work. To obtain an indirect role, it seems that being attractive with a laid-back work ethic is important. Otherwise, if you're competitive, you'll likely be overlooked. As a guarantee, you will be initially hired as a picker and spend most of your 40-hour workweek on picking tasks since seasonal hires cannot be cross-trained for other roles until they become full-time employees. If you happen to be a decent-looking woman, you'll likely face harassment as if you're an object, especially in direct roles. Similarly, if you're a quiet worker who performs well, you'll be subjected to relentless harassment. Some of the indirect role holders may even attempt to act like managers or process assistants, but they lack the authority to audit your work so ignore what these losers say. There’s this one individual in this facility who is a process guide and she exhibits a negative attitude acting like a manager so be cautious of them. The working conditions are also unpleasant, with frequent station breakdowns that negatively impact your productivity rate (yet you'll still be blamed for it). The benefits provided, particularly for seasonal associates, are subpar. If you're hoping to access the career choice program to transfer to a corporate role, you'll be disappointed, as it requires full-time employment. It is strongly advised not to work here for more than two years, as it can have adverse medical effects. If you're desperate for a job, it's better to come here with clear priorities, build your savings, and leave as soon as possible. Don't offer extra effort unless you have a plan, as that's what indirect roles demand. The management is terrible, consisting mostly of inexperienced individuals in their early twenties without prior internships, management experience elsewhere, or sound judgment. Even the process assistants are ignorant and incompetent individuals who get hired without knowing about basic Amazon terms, like 'andon' (referring to a troubleshoot ticket you can submit in case of station issues). Speaking of andons, they will often go unanswered due to RMEs (Reliability Maintenance Engineering) personn

I would give zero stars if I could!!!! Worst facility to work in. It’s like being in high school all over again managers are out there to get you, they give you a write up for any little thing until you get fired You will work until you pass out. Peak season is the worse time to work. Only work here temporarily and if you are really desperate for a job. Don’t fall into the “benefits” trap either. RUN

Horrible location for truck drivers. The ewr9 associates are lazy and beyond slow, physically and mentally. Communication amongst themselves is horrible so nobody is on the same page and they like to keep truck drivers longer then they’re scheduled to be there. Hate going to this location.

I transferred from acy2 location to Ewr9. I signed my offer letter august 5 was told I couldn’t start till the next Thursday August 11 got a termination letter august 8th talking bout job abandonment. Filed unemployment. Unemployment found no evidence of job abandonment and granted me benefits. Ewr9 appealed the decision they had a hearing I wasn’t part of and they said I left work on august 8th and told them I couldn’t work there no more cuz I didn’t have transportation. So unemployment cut my benefits. I appealed the decision and sent proof that Ewr9 lied during the hearing. Been waiting for a decision. Since they lied I am homeless cuz they cut my benefits and I had to move from where I was staying. Im working on filing criminal charges and suing for medical discrimination defamation of character because the email from Amazon sent for my termination doesn’t match what was said in the hearing with unemployment. How did I leave during a shift and say I can no longer work for ewr9 when I never worked in the building. I was terminated 2 days after signing my transfer offer letter. If I quit why would they send an email about me appealing the termination and having a meeting with someone to explain why I think I shouldn’t be terminated. I’m getting whoever lied to unemployment charged with lying under oath and suing them cuz they terminated me after seeing I was transferring there after being out on medical leave for almost a year.

Terrible place to work. They're racist towards Hispanic people. Wouldn't recommend at all. I'd give it 0 stars if I could.

They lost my package! I ordered this on November 19th. It was supposed to be here on Saturday. Then I get a notification Sunday saying that it's delayed and they want to know if I want a refund- No. I want my freaking item. Seriously, I had no problems with Amazon all summer, and as soon as the holidays hit lost packages left & right!?! Come on.
