This store is ok. Nothing special. Very generic....the produce section/deli section is very dim lit and uninviting..
Update. July 8th 2024. The produce section has an area of BUY LOCAL/SUPPORT LOCAL but the produce in that section isn't local!??? Jersey tomatoes are the BEST and there are tons of farms in the area but in their LOCAL section are tomatoes from Mexico and Canada. Dissappointed is an understatement, so my 2 star stands

⚠️RIP OFF ALERT⚠️ AVOID at ALL COSTS! Cause it will cost you by shopping here. Shop Rite is cheaper, Whole Foods is cheaper! On top of that, this store frequently sells expired items and their produce is always sketchy/rotten/soggy/on the verge of bad. Never FRESH. DO BETTER.

There's barely any food they constantly out of stock. The prices are way too high. Even ShopRite is cheaper and that's hard to believe and what they really need around. Here is a store if they're going to charge those kind of prices. That's like an Uncle Giuseppe's or even a Wegmans to replace stop& shop and even so much a ShopRite as far as I'm concerned

Stop and Shop, is OK, but is wanting, in several areas. It is convenient, for Me; but half the time I need something; particularly an unusual item (and this is true, of most grocery stores, these days), they don't, or no longer, carry it.It would be nice, if this Situation, changed. Perhaps they could arrange with manufacturers, to carry a small inventory of these items, that could be shipped, to regional warehouses, then available to local stores; as needed. Supposedly, We have the infrastructure, to accomplish this. I miss; Post Oat Flakes, Arrowhead Mills Oat Bran Flakes, Nabisco Bacon-flavored Crackers, Suzy-Wan Chinese Dinners, and Pillsbury Quick Bread; Date Bread, and Nut Bread; mixes; just to name a few items; and I do not care, to "do business", with either Wal-Mart, or Amazon.

I have been coming to this Stop & Shop for over 20 years, and in the last few months there has been a notable decline in the quality of customer service, especially those employees helping in "self checkout". These employees in my opinion should be the most patient and helpful, since difficulty during self checkout is already an annoyance to the customer. Instead employees have been brusque, rude and downright insulting, not just to me but others, including the elderly. Please be more considerate in placing qualified people here. Some people are better suited working the warehouse, instead of dealing directly with the public. Note: I have only see this at the Carlstadt S&S, not Lyndhurst where customer service has always been satisfactory.

They have so many stuff expire that it doesn’t make sense how this store is still passing inspection, the management is so bad that they woried more about the dress code than the product been spoiled , heard a manager telling a employee about the sweaters that she has on, who cares about her sweater , worry about all the expire product, I was speechless, this store is really bad?
