This was one of our best vacations! I cannot wait to go back. This staff is amazing especially Dodo. It was beautifully decorated for the holidays and the rooms were very spacious and clean. The bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in. If I had to say one thing that was negative it would be that since we were the only guests in the hotel it would have been nicer if we had a room where we could see the beach instead of looking at the buildings next door. Also as other people have said it would be nice to have better window coverings because the sunlight is very bright and wakes you up very early.Noteworthy details: The kids also love that it was haunted.

This is a highly original Victorian sea side inn, and some will be put off by the size and shape of the rooms, thus our 3 star rating ;however, the daily rate is very moderate. Also of note, high quality towels , linens and mattresses more than compensate for room size . The hotel is well staffed, and the hotel is consistently serviced. We dined at the bar and sampled much of the menu....the food is excellent, and portions are more than ample. New decor and upgrades make the public rooms both attractive and reminiscent of the Victorian period. The hotel deserves a loyal patronage, as the architecture and style of such structures require huge investments to keep them in good repair.

We have been coming here for 10 years. This is the first year we have come in contact with Racist Stan. He was guarding the parking lot . We had to go to our car to get a jacket for my son he was cold and we were met with him staring at us. Then he proceeded to walk to our car and harass us and asked us if we were going to the hotel. I said yes we have reservations. He told me and I quote, he said, “I am always right “ he also told us we needed to move our car even though we had reservations there. Such a nasty old man to speak like that to us. What has happened to The Inn of Cape May. I don’t think my family and I will be back here. We will be staying at Congress Hall from now on much more kind not getting treated like the way Stan treated us. The parking attendant at Congress Hall was more in the Christmas spirit. Stan needs to retire and save his unhappiness for himself. Such a sad experience for my children to witness this kind of racism towards a family coming to The Inn of Cape May for the holidays and sharing the Christmas spirit as a tradition we having been doing for more than a decade. It’s very disheartening that I needed to write this review for a bad apple that The Inn of Cape May has trusted their grounds with . Very unhappy unprofessional man to say the least. Merry Christmas !! Hopefully, Racist Stan finds kindness and love in his heart this beautiful Christmas season.

The location and updates to this hotel/restaurant/bar are wonderful however, the service and drinks at the porch bar were terrible last time we were there.. We told the waitress that our drink was undrinkable, but she could not even get it comped. There were no plates available to go with our appetizer and they seemed not able to maintain the number of people that were seated. They even ran out of their featured drink at 3 PM. The location of this hotel and bar are wonderful, but they need to improve upon their service, drinks, and customer service.

I have vacationed in Cape May for over thirty years and I was so excited to stay at a new place.Upon arrival there was another guest with the same name as me and they were checked in my room. The front desk was able to figure this out rather quickly. When we got to the room the heat was not working so I alerted the front desk. They provided a standup space heater. The room was absolutely cold all night. There was a strong wing and the ambient temperature outside was 34 degrees. They heater barely provided heat to the huge room.Upon checkout there was not discount offered for our troubles.I am sad to say that a place that I was looking to staying at is completely off my list for future stays in Cape May.

This past week our families came together at The Inn of Cape May to celebrate the wedding of our daughter. It was the wedding of her dreams and the staff at the Inn were a big part of that. Upon booking the event we have been treated like family who cared that every detail was given their full attention. The wedding weekend we felt as if we had a new extended family that shared in our love and joy while working tirelessly in the background. We would recommend the Inn of Cape May with all our hearts.A very special thanks to Jill and Jeri AnnYou are the best at what you do!❤️Nearby activities: So much to do!Shopping and restaurants. The inn has lost its identity. It used to be quaint and charming. New owners trying to modernize so Mish mosh of different styles and odd color choices. Higher prices but lacks service and amenities. No gym. No elevator and should buy new shower heads towels like sand paper. Don't fall for breakfast coupon which just makes it a normal price. Miss Aletheas and Ocean 7 not good. How are pancakes so bad? Eat at mad batter or George's for breakfast

We lived in Cape May for 35 years but sold our home there during the fake pandemic. We went back last week to visit and stayed at the Inn of Cape May. What an absolute delight! The check in hostesses were so courteous and the restaurant staff were delightful. We had breakfast every morning greeted by Michelle with coffee and a delicious filling breakfast. The room was so quaint reminding us of the Cape May we knew when we first arrived in the early sixties. Anyone who wants experience the old Cape May should stay here. The warm fire greeted us every night when we arrived “home!” We stayed five nights and what five nights they were: cozy, hospitable and genuine. Thanks for a great getaway back home.

We spontaneously booked a night at the Inn for 2 couples. The Inn is a beautiful Victorian hotel with gorgeous public spaces( porches bar restaurant lawn with fire tables and lobby). The rooms were charming and cozy. The beds were very comfortable with wonderful linens. The staff was fabulous! Kind, friendly and helpful. Jill is a great ambassador for the inn and a pleasure to talk to. We will definitely make this our go to place in Cape May and look forward to returning!Walkability: We walked everywhere. The Washington st mall. Restaurants. The beach.

Pictures are worth a thousand words. I have to agree with the person who said that this was the worst room she had ever stayed in. A Super 8 for almost $300 a night. A Big Lots quality plastic dresser, beat up old refrigerator and broken floor lamp (below) were the only furniture besides the bed (which was fine.) Not a chair of any kind. The lobby is in dire need of new furniture- just mismatched cast offs. But here's the shame of it. The location, wrap around porch and restaurant/bar were glorious. Delicious food- good wine. The building has been stunning in its day. It is such a shame the accomodations have been let go to ruin. It would now take millions to restore as it is a total gut job including the extremely sagging floors. I pray someone somewhere will take this property in hand but I fear it is too late. As it is, we would never go back!!

We stayed for two nights, October 5-6th, 2023. We loved absolutely everything about The Inn.We ate breakfast and dinner at The Inn on both days. The food is FABULOUS!The evenings featured live music on the front porch and the musicians were great. We were on the third floor. There is an elevator that must be operated by the staff and we used that for our luggage.A walk across the street leads to a boardwalk area and then the beach. We enjoyed the walks, went a few blocks into town for shopping and later toured the lighthouse before catching the ferry to Delaware. This is a wonderful place with a great feel and EXCELLENT staff.

My fiancé and I booked our stay very spontaneously. We booked a room and did not realize that the bed was too small for us. The front desk was so nice and thankfully was able to switch our room to a room with a bigger bed. The drinks at the bar were delicious and the location is so beautiful.

Stayed August 2022 - New ownership - they need to reflect on their practice! I have stayed at the Inn of Cape May many times throughout my 25 years of marriage. My husband's family likes to come here because my F-I-L grew up here (there is a family plaque on one of the tourist booths). We bring 8-10 people in the summer and then a few return for the fall for a long weekend- no more. My M-I-L was already complaining about no TV's and no fridge's ($25/day). I was accepting of these things. I was even accepting of the fact that the high beds are difficult for half of our party to get into. They used to include breakfast - no more. They have always only had one small, historic elevator, but were pretty easy going about taking you up and down as needed (you cannot self-operate, must wait for a person to run it for you). This morning we called for the elevator and waited 25 minutes to be able to go to breakfast. My 86 YO mother called after 10 and reminded them nicely. I called at minute 20 and not as nicely asked why they were running luggage up and down when people were waiting? I said, "People should be before luggage." Joey said, "We're busy" and hung up on me. I called him back and mentioned that it would be included in my YELP review. The rest of my family had already gone down and put our name on the restaurant list for breakfast. It was a 30 minute wait. I decided to get obnoxious at this point and pushed the old elevator buzzer that hadn't yet been disconnected. I heard it buzzing as it went past us to a floor above, and back down, still not caring that we were waiting. The elevator came back and finally opened for us. I said, "So that's what it takes? I have to get rude?" The man on the elevator said they were busy with all the luggage and I questioned why are they running luggage when people are waiitng? He said, "You aren't very gracious." Nope. Not after waiting 25 minutes to join my family for breakfast. Apparently he was the general manager and doubled down on the luggage before people policy by telling me, "Our clientele have a certain level of service and want their luggage right aways." I guess I'm not their level of clientele? Or their clientele doesn't mind waiting 25 minutes for the elevator? He said, "It wasn't 25 minutes." Even my nice mother laughed because she knew how long it had been. I met my family in the lobby and then someone came and said our table was ready - so my timeline seems right! The GM did come over and apologize for calling me ungracious, which I do appreciate, but he still doesn't seem to find fault with their elevator system. He also sent over a couple of mimosas - also appreciated and checked with me throughout our stay. He did try to make it up to me and I understand that they had a rough morning and me ringing the buzzer doesn't help, but I stand by my "people before luggage" argument. Later, the person running the elevator (head of corporate sales), got stuck in it and it broke. They did get it fixed, but the cage was bent. We are looking for other accomodations for our yearly weeklong trip with a party of 10 to Cape May, especially since I don't seem to be "quality of their clientele".

We stayed at the Inn for the last time after being customers for 30+ year. My sister uses a scooter to get around. The handicapped door was partially blocked by a table. I was told it would be moved. It never was. The bar area, where she was supposed to drive her scooter inside to charge it, was blocked by oversized chair. Their solution was for her to leave her scooter outside and charge it by using an extension cord through a window. The manager rudely said she would refund our money. It is easier to get rid of the disabled issue, I guess. Because it was Victorian Weekend, I knew we would not find another hotel at 4:00 pm. Also, there were dead bugs on my bed.

I didn't stay there, it was a welcome party for my granddaughters wedding. My daughter stayed there and was disappointed for the money it cost. Party took place outside, the cushions on the outside furniture was dirty and loaded withdog prints. Most people refused to sit on
