Embarking on a tour of NAS Wildwood is like stepping back in time to World War II. Led by passionate guides, you explore vintage aircraft and learn about the station's pivotal role. The experience instills a deep appreciation for the bravery and sacrifice of the Greatest Generation, leaving you with a profound sense of admiration and gratitude. This Place was amazing I will definitely visit again in the future

Wow! Fascinating museum. Historic planes from several eras, plus wonderful exhibits that touched on the personal side of the war effort. Very friendly and knowledgeable volunteers. I could have doubled my time there (1.5 hours) and not have been remotely bored. I absolutely loved it, and I will definitely come back the next time I’m anywhere nearby.

CAPE MAY: The non-profit Naval Air Station Wildwood Aviation Museum is an awesome experience and one of the most unique attractions we have ever experienced with Brie! Set in a World War II era hangar, the museum has over 25 historic plans, jets, helicopters, exhibits, artifacts, and more! It also memorializes the 42 naval aviators who died while training at this facility. The museum is pet friendly and dogs must be on a leash. A really cool thing to do is to go inside some of the planes and sit in the cockpit! We met a staff member, Bethany, who was fun to talk to about the museum and its features. This is a great spot to visit any day, and especially when the weather is not cooperating, since it is all indoors. Parking is free and be sure to get a puppy potty break in before entering the museum.Thank you to all Veterans!Typically, their hours are:In Season: March 5 through November 30, 10AM-4PM DailyOff Season: December 1 through March 4 10AM-4PM Mon-Friday (Closed Saturday & Sunday) NOTE: NAS WILDWOOD AVIATION MUSEUM WILL BE UNDERGOING REPAIRS AND WILL BE CLOSED TEMPORARILY FROM 10/9/23 THROUGH 1/1/24

It's been a minute since I visited, but super cool place to explore. When I went you could climb up and look inside certain ones. And I am not even all that into airplanes, but it was super cool learning the history and getting that close to the planes.

I applaud the effort in preserving some military history in Cape May. They have plenty of aircraft to see and even enter, lots of documents and photos, and I would recommend this to those with kids who have a particular interest in aircraft. Our visit today was somewhat disrupted by the rainy weather and that they were doing some repairs in the main hangar. We were pleasantly greeted, given a detailed explanation of the repair situation, and were even offered the opportunity to just make a donation of our own choosing instead of paying the normal entry fee. We elected to just donate the same amount of the entry fee anyway because we know the struggles that non-profit organizations endure.

An almost missed gem. Cool old planes, copters and cars from WWII. If you like planes you will not want to miss this museum.

Cool local aviation museum. Punches above its weight. Nice collection of mostly post-WWI aircraft and helicopters. A number of interesting exhibits with good interpretation. The Coast Guard exhibit is particularly well done. Kid friendly exhibits as well. Good gift shop. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. Particularly useful if the weather is bad and you have young children who need to burn off some energy.

Interesting museum focusing on WWII but with displays that cover a broad military history. Recommend highly.

We went this past weekend as a rainy day activity at the shore. Regular prices were $14 dollars a person I think and $10 for kids. They were not charging though when we went because they were closing early because of a wedding so it was free and they just asked for a donation. It was a great way to spend a couple of hours learning about the world war 2 military base that trained fighter/bomber pilots. It was interesting to learn some history and see some old war planes/ helicopters/ and military vehicles. A good rainy day activity for sure.

I was pleasantly surprised by this self-guided museum. Love the fact that you’re able to sit inside some of the airships and explore inside others; it really puts into perspective how large these planes are. The museum is very well laid out and clean. Ample parking, and if you’re lucky, you get to park adjacent to one of the airships :) You move at your own pace, there are rooms with real footage of events and other rooms which include all sorts of WWII memorabilia, ammunition, vintage equipment, historical photos and so much more. If you’re a reader, I suggest you allot a few hours.Tickets are purchased at the gift shop. It’s a great hands on experience for curious minds, history buffs, and aviators! An awesome addition to our Cape May excursion, we will definitely visit again when in the area.

Always a great time for the family! The kids have lots of fun climbing into the aircraft and taking pictures with memorabilia. Plenty to learn about aviation history for the adults. Definitely recommend.

More than you expect! If you're an aviation buff or WWII buff. You're going to like this museum. A lot of love went into this place. Countless displays of era photos from Wildwood, lots of aircraft from the time, and an introduction film in a reproduction ready room that really sets the stage for your visit. Beware that the museum is in a WWII hangar that is not air conditioned. But still definitely worth it. Just so much there.Even the gift shop is high quality and seems to be full of high quality stuff. The curators here are really be putting their heart and soul into this place. Highly recommend.
