2 stars for today's experience. I shop at this Acme year round, more in the summer. Today, I had a large order. The first thing I did was put up my bags which the checkout boy set aside. He started ringing the large order as I was still unpacking the cart. Items were piling up. I asked if he was allowed to use my bags to pack my items. He said yes, but continued to ring up. I started to bag but there were so many items that I couldn't keep up. Items were getting squeezed, folded, crushed, etc. and still he kept ringing. I finally asked him to stop ringing for a minute because things were ridiculously a mess. He stopped and watched me bag for a minute then continued to ring. Finally, at the very end, when he was done ringing and there was still quite a lot to bag, he bagged one bag of groceries. He put fruits and vegetables in with cleaning items, and bread squeezed in among the items. Needless to say the bread came home flattened.
Please - please - have your checkout persons help bag as the items are being rung, especially for large orders. Just because there are no plastic bags doesn't mean they can't bag. Also, please instruct them on how to bag groceries properly. My grocery bill is my largest expense and I am a loyal Acme shopper. I certainly don't want to spend this kind of money on ruined grocery items. Thank you.

I can no longer sit by and not say something. As a local the CMCH Acme is my closest grocery outlet. I’m here quite often. And I commend this store for hiring youth with disabilities. However if you’re going to do that then have the decency to hire managers who will support and protect these kids! The ladies who “manage” the store that stand upfront and frankly do nothing but gossip and boss these poor kids around are pathetic! I walked in to one of these kids cleaning up a spill only to have a manger come over and bark at them to hurry up and get to another location to clean something else up while she walked back to the front and leaned on the counter, doing nothing. Try helping this poor kid. I was in checkout once to buy a 5 gallon jug of water. The checkout person didn’t have the scan code so I went to the front counter. No big deal. However one of these Lazy girls asked me why I got out of line and when I explained it she told me “well that’s what happens when you hire the slow ones”. My jaw was on the floor. I couldn’t believe what she had just said.
One of the girls here who I assume is the store manager, she’s late 20-30s, pretty tall with curly hair, always has a scowl on her face, is the leader of this pack. I CONSTANTLY hear her complaining and talking badly about the other staff and customers while I’m in self checkout. Over Memorial Day weekend self checkout had a 15 items or less sign. Me and a young African American mother who had a child in the cart went up to the self checkout at the same time. Looking at both our carts it was hard to judge how many items there were but I definitely had more than her. However, this same manager only came up and harassed this young mother with a serious nasty attitude demanding she stop ringing up her items and get in the LONNG line for what was most certainly less than 20 items. If I had counted I would bet she had the correct 15. This poor girl had a baby in the cart and just needed to get a few things and get her kid home. Self checkout was EMPTY. She wasn’t holding anyone up, to make her get out and wait an additional 20 plus minutes with a little kid without even bothering to count her items was cruel and unnecessary. Thankfully she stood her ground and refused.
I could go on about the things I’ve witnessed at this location. Acme you need a SERIOUS overhaul of some of your staff here. Do better!!!
The girls upfront need to take a lesson from the staff in the pharmacy who are wonderful!

The carts lock their wheels (anti theft sensors) when you try to cart your groceries over to your car at the EV chargers right in the ACME lot. Silly and annoying.

This store cannot be trusted on deliveries. They miss or get something wrong 90% of the time. Never order from here via an App.

Acme is a supermarket and the people who work here at great. I worked for 20 years for a supermarket chain. The Acme in North cape may nj. Is one of the best I have ever shopped in. Prices are hi but show me a place who's Prices are not hi. I never have a problem in this store. If they see long lines in the front. They open up another cashier.
