They got him in, all 4 new tires installed, and aligned right away (there was only one other person ahead of us). “I recently moved to the area and was looking for a reputable and fairly priced mom and pop shop. All of the positive reviews are spot on. From my first call to actually bringing my car into the shop, I was treated with respect and the man over the phone and in the shop was friendly. They let me sit and wait for my car because I had no other option, even though I wasn't listed as a wait. They put a sticker for my next oil change on the windshield and had a little mat down to protect the driver's side floor. A full synthetic oil change was a little over $70. Better than any chain and cheaper than my last mom and pop shop.”
“Brought my x3 for install of brand new rims. They hooked it up with new continentals for a good price installed. Felt comfortable with them handling expensive new rims! TPMS and alignment. Will come for more service down the line.
Most importantly they do road force balancing which is the best!”

“My battery warning light came on and was told at Autozone that my battery was good but most likely needed a new alternator. I called Jim’s and were able fit me in right away. I came first thing just before our winter vacation for them to look at it. Jim’s figured out that the connectors were loose. It was a Christmas miracle! To my surprise, within under an hour of THEIR time, they fastened it and told me that I did not even have to pay. Jim’s service and kindness, especially around this holiday season made my day. “I've been coming here for inspection and maintenance for years. This is definitely one of the best shops around. It's almost always pretty busy so it's best to call ahead to schedule appointment. There's no dedicated parking lot (like most shops in Philly), but there's plenty of street parking nearby when dropping off the vehicle. They always explain if there's any fixes needed and get your approval before doing any work. They never try to push any unnecessary services or charge any surprise fees. A++”

I’m not from the area, I just work in Philly everyday, and I know as an outsider, the vast majority of these tires places can look shady and feel intimidating. Hunting Park Tire Shop is not one of them. They are totally legitimate and one of the best you’ll find. Stop searching and come see them!

“Chances are if you are calling this company, you are having a bad day. Rest assured that DW will turn it around and get you back on track. We spent about three hours trying to get AAA, OnStar and other local businesses to respond to our flat tire in south Philadelphia and only DW responded and stayed focused on our problem. He sourced a new tire from a local vendor and brought it to the vehicle, mounted, balanced and installed the tire right on the curb where we were stranded. Don’t waste your time with the national “service“ providers. Call DW.”

are rampant, meeting Michelle and the staff at Matthew was a breath of fresh air.
I don't live in the area, but,I have referred them to two other friends who are very happy with their services and very happy with the price for the services, which is value.
I believe the hardest thing to find today is honesty. As a consumer, we don't know what we don't know.
Because of the distance from my home to their place of business, I did not bring my car here first. After taking my vehicle to a local mechanic who did not solve the problem, I decided to take my vehicle to Matthey, .because I trusted them, based on the experience of my good friends.
If you don't have extra money to waste, then take your vehicle here first and save yourself money. Because of convenience, I made a poor decision costing myself time, not having my vehicle which cost money. They not only diagnosed the problem and solved it within a day, but the estimate was right on, and the car was running better than ever. I trusted my local mechanic, which cost three weeks and they solved the problem in a day.
Their price structure is very forward, and very fair. More importantly, they focus on the work and provide a two year guarantee along with their services.
Now that my vehicle is running, I will be taking it to Matthey for all future work.

“Top notch service. Organized, straight shooting, transparent, and extremely fast. Will only recommend what you actually need done and they know what they're talking about. Had a flat about a block away (luckily), immediately saw the nail (I completely missed it), thought I needed a new tire but he was able to fix it in about 20-30min, if not less. I ended up buying a spare as well! 10/10, this is my spot from now on. Highly recommended.”
