Primal Surf is my favorite surf shop at the Jersey shore. Mike is the man! Super knowledgeable and friendly. He's sold me 4 boards now, each one better than the last.

I can’t say more about the lessons from Mike and his team. They made my 6yo so comfortable his first time out, we have already been back for more lessons. If you have any doubts of bringing your child, Mike and his team of well trained instructors are hands on and engaged. Can’t speak highly enough of the lessons plus the store has awesome goods!

Great surf lessons! The ratio teacher / students for group lessons is really great and the teachers are friendly and attentive. My son loved the experience!

We have gone to Primal Surf 2 years in a row now for surf lessons - the staff is very helpful and accommodating when you call and Mike and his crew teaching the surf lessons are amazing people. Very well versed in the surf and tides and naturally skilled surfers! It has taught my son a true love of surf and surfing and I can't say enough about this place. Especially in todays world - it's the best!

We had the pleasure of meeting Susan and Michael, the owners of Primal Surf. So very friendly and personable! The store or surf shop or boutique is set up beautifully. Even if your not a surfer, there are many unique items one can find from clothing to jewelry to beach items. Now, if you are a surfer, you can find surf boards, wet suits, anything you need or want for surfing. The main reason we stopped here was because my son and daughter wanted to take surf lessons. Fortunately, the weather held out and they were able to sign up for a lesson. One of Michael’s instructors, Luke, gave them their first lesson and my kids were super excited. Many thanks to Susan, Michael and Luke, for all their kindness and professionalism. My kids look forward to returning for more lessons.

I heard good things about this surf school and was a little nervous signing up my younger teen kids, but WOW awesome instructors and I felt totally safe since they employ lifeguards to help assist. Pretty much 2 to 1 instruction ratio. Their 2 hour lesson is extremely affordable and great value. My kids were up on boards within ten minutes. Definitely will book another lesson for next week or the following. Don't forget to tip your instructors for a job well done. Jack and Luke were great instructors

I wish I had a video or pictures from this experience, for everyone but somethings are ment to be remembered on their own..... We needed a smaller surf board to throw in car on the go for our 8yr old surfer, I called ahead to primal surf shop & Susan answered & said she would have one ready for him to pick out! When we arrived Mike showed JP all of the boards & he picked which one he wanted & Mike took the time to put the fins on the board with JP & give him a little lesson on surf safety & some surf talk! JP loved the whole experience! We've ordered other boards all online & now that Mike gave JP that experience, we will go to the primal surf shop & get the boards from now on! Mike & Susan both gave him an experience he will never forget! We got in the car & JP said Primal Surf is my favorite store! We recommend this surf shop to all surfers!

Amazing surf shop. Super knowledgeable staff (Mike is a legend). And can hook folks up for great surf lessons. They helped find my two boys boards that they loved. And lessons that made a difference.

We had a great experience with the surf school, the instructors were energetic and so positive, all the kids can’t wait to do it again. You can see my son’s instructor cheering after he successfully did a little trick he taught him! They were amazing with the kids. Mike does a great job of explaining where to meet and what to expect. It’s our favorite surf shop too!

This surf shop boutique is such an incredible place to visit.The owners and staff are so knowledgable and will help you with all your beach and island needs whether it's surf lessons (they have the best and most fun lessons around town for sure!!!), to paddle boards, sunglasses, lovely clothing for guys and gals and so much more!! Besides all that you must check out the garden before entering this lovely gem of a store. The owners Susan and Michael are extremely passionate about what they do and honestly, they really care about your experience. A must visit to this carefully curated surf shop. You will not want to leave.

I signed up for 3 classes. The instructor had me standing up during the 1st session. I highly recommend them if you are considering trying to surf.At 58 years old they gave me the confidence that I could still catch waves.

Primal Surf Shop has a great selection of gear and apparel. They also provide quality surf lessons at a very reasonable cost. They had my two daughters, 12 and 7, standing up on their boards within 30 minutes of hitting the waves. What a great experience.

Awesome business with not only awesome staff but awesome customers. I was a little new to purchasing a wetsuit and I had a customer and staff member help me in sizing and feel, owners grandson even made me a coupon, well done!
