Martinsville Veterinary Hospital is a lifesaver! Our cat had bad digestion issues, and they squeezed us in without an appointment. We only waited about 15 minutes! The place was super clean, and everyone was so friendly and professional.
They did a quick exam and prescribed antibiotics that worked wonders. They were really understanding about our tight budget and even gave us some free donated medications. They also provided a plan of action in case the situation got worse, and told us to contact them asap if it does.
Can't recommend this place enough. It's clear they really care about animals and their humans too. Definitely our new go-to vet!

I've never met such caring and compassionate people when I had to let go of my 20 year old cat. They are all amazing genuine people. Would highly recommend!

Dr. Shendell and her staff at Martinsville Veterinary are warm, knowledgeable and helpful. My visits are always pleasant and informative, and this is a high quality practice.

We recently switched to MVH and Dr. Shendell for our 10 year old Polish Lowland Sheepdog and our 7 month old Mini Goldendoodle and we could not be happier or more comfortable with our decision. We really like our other vet, so it truly is a testament to Dr. Shendell, Josh, and their whole team that we decided to move to MVH. This is not an exaggeration, it really feels like you're stepping into James Herriot's offices - quaint, immaculately clean, welcoming, and so animal-focused. When we recently had our 7-month-old mini Goldendoodle spayed, they took such good care of her (and us!) by explaining everything in detail, being in constant communication, and being available for questions at any time. It's actually a joy to take both our puppies to the vet, and we know that is a rare thing these days. Thank you, Dr. Shendell, and your staff for being consummate professionals, and above all, true animal lovers and healers.

I needed to find a new vet when my cat Bumper became sick. Sadly, Dr. Shendell was only Bumper's doctor for about a week, as it was his time to leave us. Bumper's time came on a Friday, the day that Dr. Shendell is in surgery all day. She was great. She stayed at the office and had us bring Bumper in so that we could let him go and not be in pain anymore. The staff here is wonderful. We even received a sympathy card signed by everyone in the office. I would highly recommend Martinsville Vet. Hospital.

In town from SC, I found myself in sudden need of a vet for my little guy Rufus. After finding wait times of a week or more at other vets in the area, Joshua and Melissa were not only able to fit me in that afternoon out of concern for my pup, but rendered extremely passionate and thorough care. Rufus left there feeling MUCH better as did I. Thank you Melissa and Joshua.

Getting an appointment is very fast and easy. Your questions are answered at the appointment, and they will take notes of any concerns you may have to follow up on the next appointment. The staff was very friendly and made our first appointment very welcoming.

Since ownership change last year, this place has become much more organized and responsive. Dr. Shendell examined Fred carefully, found a tick under his hair and pulled it off. After Fred's test result comes out, she communicated with me actively. The experience is much better than before.
