Well kept shop! Tons of outdoor items not limited to clothing, sleeping bags, tents, packs, etc. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Dog friendly store too!

What a great store I scored some amazing deals and with the rewards it is worth the trip. It’s so refreshing to get in the car and go to a real store and actually try stuff on rather than all the packaging and returns. The staff is amazing and very helpful which makes shopping a pleasure.

Some feedback for those who are gear shopping.Do NOT buy anything from Eastern mountain sports.Bought a pair of boots here instead of buying (much) cheaper online because they had a reputation for standing behind product, or so I thought.Wore them around the house - felt fine. First break in hike and they are killing my husband's toes, they are not wearable. We could barely finish our hike as he was limping along in so much pain.Even though these were in almost new condition - they have a single 10 mile hike on them- they refused to let us exchange them for a pair that did not cause him pain. We are out $200 on a pair of boots because this company does not stand behind their product. The people at the store told us that if the shoes are worn outside AT ALL they can't be returned - she did not have any helpful suggestions as to how we could simulate walking down a 1,400 foot mountain in our living room.Definitely will never buy anything here again!!

Super helpful sales staff! I rented a kayak and bought some gear recently, and James and Mark were friendly, knowledgeable, and made it an easy process. They even took the time to show me how to use some of the gear I bought.

Went here to buy sporting goods and when I asked the associate if they had something he rudely answered “This is NOT an athletic sporting goods store!” Please take some basic customer service training. Politeness goes a long way.

Excellent outdoor equipment, clothing store. Much more hiking backpacks, shoes and clothing variety than in its direct big competitors stores. Also, there is no problem to return anything. Store staff is very helpful. I just wish they are not as far or perhaps they will return one day back to New York.

This is one of the worst retails stores i have visited, my parents used to shop in here for years after they started having the same issue. I Purchases a pair of Hillsound Crampons back un Early Nov 2020 and since then i have barely used them on the trail. Last week one of my crampons snapped in half ( not even 6 months old) I called the stored manager and also visited the store twice. Manager was not to pleasant to speak to. and instead of helping me was questioning me, (terrible service for a store manager) I will not recommend or shop from any EMS Store in general, the return policy is very very poor. (without mentioning my sleeping EMS hobo Pad developed air bubbles on its first years of purchase)(I never attempted to return and still have it) I will definitely recommend REI in Princeton 100 times over EMS in Somerville NJ ! Ems just lost another outdoor customer.
