When my husband told me that he had a pau hana with his boss and coworkers, I told him that I had no problem being the DD so long as he didn't vomit in the car on the way home. My husband laughed off my request and commented that he hadn't been a "Palu Princess" for the past two years and that the plan was to head home by 9pm. It was then my turn to laugh because knowing my husband, we'd be lucky if we were even home by midnight. By the time Friday rolled around and after awkwardly having to introduce myself as the "ball and chain" crashing my husband's night out, pau hana was in full swing. I can't even recall how many shots and beers/cocktails were ordered by and for the group but my husband was definitely starting to feel the alcohol. It wasn't until we hit our second (and final) bar of the night that I realized it might be time to head home. So one of my husband's coworkers helped me get him into the backseat of our car and as I drove off and checked the clock, it was only a little past 8:30pm. And since the only noise in the car was my husband's snoring, I figured we were in the clear. But as we we were about ten minutes away from home, I heard rustling in the back and as I asked my husband if he was okay, I was greeted with The Exorcist in full vomit glory. And as if the stench and sounds were not enough, the chunks splashing my shoulder closest to the armrest were enough to indicate that a simple Clorox wipe would not suffice. By the time we got home and I took a look at the damage, I realized we were going to need professionals.The next morning, I did a quick search on Yelp and Fine Shine Auto Detailing was one of my first options. I liked the fact that it was close to home and that based on the reviews, FSAD seemed to be the best kept secret in Kailua. So I used the Yelp app. to put in a quote request and waited on a response. Yelp also helped out by putting out the request to several other companies that may be able to help (via their Projects tab--super handy!). Alex W. from Clean Max Auto Detailing and Arvin I. from Detail Lab Hawaii were the first to respond with quotes and other details related to my request but since Alex's first available appointment wasn't until later in the month and Arvin was farther away than I would have liked, I held out hope that Fine Shine would get back to me. And almost like he had read my mind, Whitney had responded to my quote and asked that I give him a call. Whitney is perhaps one of the nicest people I've ever had the chance to interact with. While we were getting the details in over the phone, he was really good about getting info such as what work was needed, the type of car, when we could drop the car off, and billing (which I got a kick out of because Whitney initially thought I was a Uber/Lyft driver and one of my punk passengers vomited in the car and would need to be charged lol). My husband and I were basically able to drop the car off to Whitney within 30 minutes to an hour of our phone consultation and even when we met him in person, he was just as gracious and we had a bit of small talk (Whitney: "So what happened?" Me: "That's the culprit!" Hubs: "Yeah, sorry, I had one too many drinks...") before Whitney gave us a rundown of what he would be doing and told us he would have the car back to us same day. And sure enough, by 9pm, when we went to go pick-up the car, I could not have been more surprised at the work Whitney (and his wife) had done on our car. Since it was dark out, I initially thought that my eyes were playing tricks on me because of how shiny the exterior of our car was, but it wasn't until my husband had asked that Whitney had told us that he had of course taken care of the exterior as well as the interior because we were paying for full service. Whitney, the owner of Fine Shine, has cared for my 2015 Black Honda Accord for over a year. As you know, a black car can be a challenge to maintain because everything shows on that color. He picks it up at my home every month and returns the car a couple hours later.During the 2 hours, Whitney thoroughly evaluates the appearance of my car. In addition to cleaning and polishing the car, he checks the tire pressure, condition of the paint, and lets me know of any apparent problems. He touches up any little rust spots, paint that rubbed off during near misses with the pillars in parking garages, and makes sure the interior and exterior are dust free and shiny like new! I love my car and appreciate the exceptional service Whitney provides through his Fine Shine business. Beautiful work Whitney!

Just had my 2006 car detailed today by Whitney and his staff. This is the fourth time I have returned to them to have my car detailed because they do an impeccable job each and every time. This is coming from someone who is very picky. I told him I would continue to return as long as he keeps up the fantastic job... and he has! He is very warm and welcoming to boot whenever I see him. I highly recommend his services.

I was blown away by the level of detail and professionalism. My car was thick with dog hair and sand, and it came back near perfect. I've used other local services in the past but nothing as good as Whitney's work. Competitive rate and a result that exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend and will use again. Mahalo Whitney!

Whitney did absolutely phenomenal work on our borrowed car. We had placed buckets of flowers and water inside the back of the vehicle, transporting items to and from a wedding venue, and contrary to what you may think, the smell was awful. We needed to have the car's rugs shampooed and get it back to tip top shape before returning it to the person who lent it to us. I called 4 other detailing services and none could help us that day. Fortunately, Fine Shine Auto Detailing saved us. Whitney and his team worked their tails off for about 7 hours, making sure that not only was the smell gone, but every grain of sand was removed, the scratches were buffed out and every panel was shining. Whitney & Mark charged me $280 for an interior and exterior detail - I was shipping my vehicle for a PCS. They did a near to perfect job. They work out from their home (and have a mobile unit), if you are OK with dropping your vehicle off there. It was night time when I remember to took the after- photo but they did an absolutely fantastic job on the interior. Minor problems with the exterior, didn't properly even the wax in some spots. Not a huge deal. Worth $280? Maybe. If you need your vehicle done next day, they are super responsive and willing. Otherwise I'd recommend doing your research or get word of mouth. I've had a significantly better exterior detail (with interior included) for practically the same price.

If 6* was an option I'd give it to them. Absolutely incredible what they did for my wife's Rogue with sand, fur, French fries, etc. it honestly looks brand new. I'd honestly expect to pay over $500 for what they did and they did it for a fraction. If you are PCS'ing your vehicle YOU NEED TO GET THEM TO CLEAN IT BECAUSE YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!!!!!

Needed to get some minor paint damage repaired and car cleaned prior to shipping out of state. I can't believe how clean he got both the outside and inside, it looks like a brand new car! The service wasn't cheap, but better priced than most other quotes I got. Very easy to work with over the phone to set up the appointment. Only accepts cash. Very pleased with the work.

My car was extremely dirty from having a toddler, two dogs, two cats, and from going to the beach. He did an amazing job making it look like the car was fresh off the lot. We needed it done ASAP due to needing to ship our vehicle, and let's just say they are extremely strict on how clean the car needs to be. Glad I trusted this business with getting that done.

I brought my car in severely neglected I was actually looking to buy a new vehicle so didn't give it the TLC it needed! I have executives in town so had to detail and so grateful I found Whitney at Fine Shine! He's got a great energy about him and he and his wife poured 5 hard working hours to bring my car back to life. They washed the seats more than 12 times each to get them to a better state. The car was immaculate and makes me not in such a hurry to buy a new one anymore! So so so would recommend this company there is no way you'd be disappointed!

Definitely a 5-star service! I brought the car in with lots of dog hair and sand, and I picked it up looking like it was better than when I had bought it!! All the trim and the upholstery look new. Highly recommend!

We booked an interior detail appointment for our 6 year old Tacoma. Beach, baseball and everyday life made for the perfect dirty storm. To our delight the interior of our truck now looks brand new. Seats, dash, carpet, doors, all look amazing. Coordination was fas, great communication and superior work....all for the win. We highly recommend Fine Shine.
