I was recently locked out of my car. Calling through the road service system was frustrating and time-consuming. I then called our agent at Selective and got an immediate response. They are always so responsive, professional and go out of their way to help. The agent offered to call road service for me and get everything arranged. They called me back to give me details and also checked back with me later to make sure my situation was taken care of.

Recent computer updates were still causing hiccups on the website and phone service. Took over 45 minutes to make a simple bill payment As a new customer, I am re-considering my decision.

I hate it. Almost every month I receive a cancelation notice before I get my Bill, been going on for 2 yrs. Half the time i don't know if I have coverage

My house suffered severe roof damage 2/28/24 due to a violent thunderstorm. My Homeowner's Insurance is Selective Insurance. I filed a claim immediately. Selective Insurance was immediately responsive to my claim. They gave me the name of a roofing contractor. He provided excellent service. He immediately surveyed the damage. A claims adjuster surveyed the damage and within a short time I was reimbursed for the repair. I am completely satisfied with everyone involved who worked diligently and professionally to take care of my claim.

I gave a very poor rating to Selective due to the fact my inquiry as to the reason my renewal increased 42% was absolutely generic! My agent simply replied “they all went up!” May be true. But with me, on fixed income, excellent credit, no claims - ever, on anything, demand to know why! I didn’t put my home on a beach, so I could watch the sunsets. I didn’t want to be concerned with Hurricanes blowing it away! I didn’t build my home in the forest so I could enjoy the peace and tranquility of nature’s beauty! I didn’t want to worry a forest fire would destroy it! So why on earth do I have to share the exorbitant costs to replace those lost by such manners? Seems all insurance company’s want to make everyone pay for another’s unfortunate circumstance! Finally, I don’t think 42% annual increase is quite the norm! At least not for those of us that make every attempt to put a home in a reasonably safe area!

O stars. Had to list one star just to be able to post. Lousy experience. Cancelled policy and was refunded $175 out of $1079 payment. The remainder was charged for two weeks of coverage. Horrible experience and would not recommend Selective to anyone.

only 1 of 4 the adjustors has been helpful or responsive in our motorhome, tow package and ,truck that was towed and contents of the total loss due to fire.

Being a policy holder for a few years with Selective Insurance with zero claim history, had the policy renew with more than a 300% increase! The rate skyrocketed from approximately $139/month to $412/month. We didn't renew the policy but Selective pulled an ACH from my account anyway & told me only paper checks are issued & they cannot reverse the charges. Of course not, they want to keep a former policy holder's money in their account for as long as possible. There was no reason provided as to the drastic increase. Definitely pays to shop/comp insurance companies and rates. Unfortunately, there is no option for "Zero Stars."
