James had developed cancer so as I sat in the office as he did his treatments I started painting bird houses for the other people. I told the owner Tom about it he was so kind to donate samples of paint which helped me to get through treatments. Tom not only listen to me he also gave part of himself. “I have been going to this location since I was a kid tagging along with my dad. As a homeowner I come here a couple of times a year purchasing mostly mulch but also some stone products. Staff are men of few words but extremely helpful. I rarely have to wait (except some spring time Saturdays). I always get high quality materials quickly at a good price. Highly recommend.”
“Just had a key programmed at Costello's Ace hardware for a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. John is an experienced key programmer and did a great job of getting it to work after the new FOB failed to program due to a weak battery. After replacing battery and repeated programming, he was eventually able to get the aftermarket FOB to work. While not all aftermarket FOBs are guaranteed, he went the extra mile to keep at it and in this case it worked. Thanks!!!”

The floor staff could be more knowledgeable about the store and home improvement in general but that might be asking too much.
If you place an order call to make sure is has been pulled and not just in stock.

“Bob in cabinets is the best Home Depot employee I have ever worked with on a project. He is extremely knowledgeable and spent a lot of time making sure all my questions were answered. He made sure all my measurements were accurate and patiently put together my kitchen in different configurations. “5 stars for Donna B. in the garden department. She was probably the 5th employee that I spoke with and the only one who was willing to help me locate an item at this South Plainfield store. I was walking inside the store, back and forth from one end to the other, trying to find this item, being shown 20 in stock from the HD app but with no aisle and bin #. Donna B. was able to show me where the similar items would be, and bingo, I was able to find it. The item was all the way on the top shelf. I took a picture to zoom in so that I can confirm the item #. Then Donna B. went extra miles to get a ladder and pulled the item for me. You can forget about the first 4 employees, one of them telling me to order online but it says in stock at the store; he just didn't wanna be bothered. Home Depot should do their best to keep employees like Donna B. I am not related to Donna B. in any possible way; I go to Home Depot for DIY projects.”
