Great rescue every step of the way - from the wonderful and caring foster who went out of her way for meet and greets through the entire adoption process where everything was clearly explained, medical paperwork and all other documents were provided. Transparent and honest - a real rescue organization. Thank you for rescuing our little man Benji and bringing such joy into our life!

These people want all your personal information including drivers license numbers and mortgage information. When you don’t want to give certain information due to safety concerns. They deny you the right to give a dog a great home. . Bunch of losers and weirdos. Give us your personal information so you can worry what we’re doing with it!!! Bunch of jackoffs that ruined a adoption for the poor dog.

I adopted a dog from Northstar in November 2022, and it was my very first time adopting or having a dog of my own. I found the process to be extremely responsible and caring. I had my heart set on a little dog despite not knowing him very well, and Northstar’s volunteers were realistic with me about what to expect from him and the adjustment. Adopting a dog is a very emotional process, and although I was a bundle of nerves waiting for my application to be approved, it really didn’t take long at all. I was notified the moment they began working on it and was asked some clarifying information. Mine couldn’t have been an easy application to work through, due to some unique minor details of my living situation, but I was given the chance to explain myself and was understood in the end. Just be open and honest. They want the best for these dogs. That should be clear to anyone who applies.Oh, and they took incredible care of my Malarkey in the months it took me to find him. Thank you NorthStar!

This is an amazing rescue. When they "rescue" a dog they truly care for each soul from the day they take them in by giving them full veterinarian care and emotional care. Each dog is lovingly fostered until Northstar finds them a loving home. Thank you to Tammy and her amazing volunteers.

We have rescued many senior dogs from Northstar. Every adoption was a pleasure. They are so efficient and compassionate. I love the way they always put the dogs first!

I have been so lucky to be a part of North Star Pet Rescue. I have been volunteering for a year and last September, I was fortunate to begin fostering. Tammy, Tray, and Jeff are wonderful and devoted to their mission. All volunteers love what they do and always give it their best.I've fostered 3 dogs and loved every moment. The support I received from everyone was amazing and much appreciated.I end my fostering chapter with the adoption of my third foster, Damon, whom I've renamed Declan. The love that I feel for Declan is unsupassed and he brings me such joy. It never would have been possible without the love and expertise of all those involved. I am forever grateful.

We lost our beloved 13 yr old dog a few months ago and our other dog 1.5 yr old was so lonely & stopped playing. We knew we needed to find him a buddy. A friend who adopts seniors suggested NorthStar Pet Rescue. We wanted a specific type to fit our life style. I checked their web site and found a pup I thought would work. We filled out an application then received confirmation they got it. They checked all of our references and we were approved! She was still in Texas so we had to wait until she could get on the next transport to New Jersey.NorthStar was great to work with. They always responded to all my questions and even got me in contact with her foster mom in Texas. We were able to get to know her before she arrived. We are forever grateful to NorthStar Pet Rescue and all the volunteers who put in endless hours to help these dogs. Thank you for saving our fur baby! We absolutely love her and so does our other dog. She’s the perfect fit for our family.??We highly recommend NorthStar Pet Rescue if you’re looking to give a dog a forever home!

I started volunteering with this rescue about a year ago and I am so impressed and inspired in the way its run and prioritizes the dogs’ well-being. This rescue does its due diligence in making sure that the dog fits well for you and that you are a good fit for the dog. They put the dog first, and I love that because it sets up the dog to find it’s best home. Thank you North Star for everything you do!

North Star pet rescue is more than a rescue. They are, as their name suggests, angels. We got our little Remi a year ago now and we and our other pup could not be happier. When we first got Remi, everything was fine! He was happy to be in New Jersey after a long journey from Texas. But then it was discovered that he had heart worm! It was an unfortunate circumstance, and heartworm can be dormant and not found in the blood tests for months after initial contact. North Star upon finding out, went above and beyond to help us figure out a treatment plan and even volunteered to pay for everything!A fantastic organization whom will do absolutely anything to keep their pups happy, warm, safe, fed, and healthy. No dogs are kept in kennels, every single one that North Star rescues are fostered in a loving happy home. Every single volunteer I have met at various events, including the owner, has been down to earth, polite, personable, and very passionate about helping dogs. Do yourself a favor and check North Star out.

From the moment I submitted my two applications- one on behalf of my parents and another from me. They been so disorganized, not finding the emails I sent in or not reading my emails properly. They claimed there are inconsistently Information and when I answer their questions with bulletin points. They were still confuse.A quick phone call to me could of clear up anything they couldn’t UNDERSTAND on the email. Yet no one called me. I had 3 girls work on my applications i guess whoever had time at the moment. They would of known there was two separate application submitted. My mother and I. Two different people with two different living situation and circumstances. I guess that was too much work for them to think. They took forever in a responding back. My family and I have always rescue dogs from rescue and/ or shelters. They made this experience so disgusting for their disorganization and lack of follow up.After 3 weeks to say the two dogs I was interested in had a scheduled meet and greet already. 3 weeks as suppose it could of taken 3 days to process my application with a quick phone call to me to wrap up my application. When you call the main line. They don’t pick or return your voice messages. The minute I withdrew my application via email I received the quickest reply back with “will do” which I found such disgusting move. Since they been so slow in all the emails I reply back to them.I will stick to the prior rescue where I rescue my current dog from.

We rescued our German Shepard from NorthStar and foster for them as well. Everyone involved with this all volunteer non profit rescue is awesome. They really take the time and effort to evaluate all their dogs and the potential adopting families to find the perfect match.
