Update: The self-checkout option is not worth it. The machines are always saying "remove item in bagging area" and then require you to get an associate to type in a number to continue with the transaction. No associate is anywhere to be found other than cashiers, who are working hard assisting other customers.

Is it possible to give 0 stars? The definition of insanity: Doing the same thing over & over again to the same result. That's me at ShopRite expecting that they will address the problem with their self-check process. The only grocery store I have ever been to that I can't check out without assistance from the staff multiple times. They CAN override the function that insists over & over again that you remove the unknown item from bagging area (the item being that bag, that yes I did press the button to ID that I have my own bag & place it on the scale) only to remove the item and then be instructed to return the item to the bagging area! We are held hostage by convenience to this store. I clearly need to plan my trips so I can go to ShopRite in Sterling. My bad that I continue to shop at this store. By the way, the staff is very nice and they deserve better. The fact that owners & management refuse to fix this issue shows utter disregard for customers & staff.

If I could give 0 stars I would. This grocery store treats their workers extremely poorly. The manager was very rude to me. She was very unprofessional and disrespectful. I hope this shop rite gets new management and is more respectful to their workers and customers.

Best Shop Rite in New Jersey. Great for your weekly food shopping, They have most of the brands you are looking for, Friendly courteous help. Great to stop in for lunch for soup or sandwich, and they have a fresh hot lunch buffet with many hot items to choose from.

This morning the customer service at self checkout was atrocious. A young woman working there accused me of stealing paper towels. I scanned them myself while she was chatting up a coworker. I presented my receipt (I had very few items) and she insisted that I should have told her that I was scanning said item. Well, sorry but do your job! If it wasn't the closest grocery to me I would not be returning. I understand that Covid plays a role in all of this however this was nonsensical. I'm not one to speak to management but I hope this is read.
