I made a small order the other day, I chose and paid for UPS shipping. Yankee dabbler sent it to the USPS, so i call to see why and i was told "UPS could not deliever it any quicker, and there was nothing he could do because it had already shp. Just lost a customer!!!Order #95014

Warning: This guy is a scammer and a con man. He will lie to you about his credit card fees if you cancel an order. Also if you do a return he won't give you store credit. I waited over a month for him to post my store credit to his website. He always had an excuse and never did it. Fortunately American Express refunded my credit card charge after I gave up.

Never again. My models shipped, but never got to me. Call the shop and double checked that the address was correct. Instead of offering a full refund, the person on the phone it’s not their fault and there’s nothing he can do and promptly proceeded to hang up on me without waiting for a response. Never been treated like this by a business before and will never go back to this place again.

Be careful to order online! I ordered 2 pine car kits specifically from this website because I was looking for kits with a solid axle for the wheels instead of 2 pins. When they arrived it did not have the solid axle like I wanted and like what was pictured. When I called, they said they had no control over that and they just post the pictures the brand sends. I asked if he would send me an additional wheel accessory kit with the solid axle to me to make up for the item not being as described. He said “No he wouldn’t” and that I could order and pay for an additional wheel kit but couldn’t assure me it would arrive in 7 days in time for the race. Then told me to look on YouTube to watch videos of how to make pine car wheels run faster. I’m a small business owner and I guess the idea of making a sale right or even saying sorry for the description not being correct and trying to make up for a mistakable error isn’t something every business does. I won’t be buying from this company again.

Arrived in-person on 3/26, to find a sign on the door stating that they're closed for Inventory through 4/2.Could have updated Maps to reflect as such, before folks make a decent drive on our day off. I wasn't the only one who walked up to the door unknowingly.

Order online or walk in. This store has all your model railroad needs. If they don't have it, they usually can get it. Easy online ordering, knowledgeable staff at the store, and their prices are better than competitive.This is my go-to shop for my model railroad needs.

I shopped here twice this week. My items got here within one day, and the service I received was impeccable. I’ve been to some not so nice train shops before, and this place was a breath of fresh air. Their expertise is unmatched. Their primary concern is always getting you the equipment that’s right for your build rather than just trying to sell the most expensive thing. I love this place. they have everything, and even from several states away this has become my new store. special thanks to Bob!

I have been a model train enthusiast for several years. Yankee Gabbler is a quality house! Great prices and superb service! I just had a problem with a damaged shipment and Bob personally took care of it imminently! I would recommend these guys to anyone!

Having been to this shop several times, I can conclude this store is not worth your time or money. I live a little over 45 minutes away, but am willing to make the drive for a store that is worth it. Also being new to the hobby I chose visiting the physical storefront as opposed to online hoping to get some insight and ask questions before I invest. However, each time I visited this location there was not one person that said hello, asked if I needed help, or if I had any questions. Though I did hear the employees acknowledged to each other that a customer just walked in. Furthermore, the aisles are completely unorganized and unkept, things are just flung everywhere. One of my biggest gripes is that you can’t even see the N scale trains they have for sale in the cabinets. Each time I’ve been there, boxes were blocking my view and none of the case lights are on, and just like the aisles things are thrown all over the place. And more than that only some of the products in the store have an actual price marked on them. When I went to purchase something I waited at the counter for around five minutes, before I lost patience and had to walk around a look for someone to ring me out. Employees aren’t very friendly, and act like you’re not worth their time. I’ll take my business online and to the other better put together hobby shops in the area.
