CrossFit Andare has been absolutely essential to my personal growth and development.
I've been doing CrossFit for nearly 20 years with a history of poor attendance. I also ate very poorly and drank regularly. My poor life choices and laziness ultimately resulted in the need for serious back surgery at only 39yrs old. Recognizing the need for change in my life I used Andare as pre-op physical therapy as much as I could.
The programming at Andare is fantastic. I was able to strengthen my core and spine to the point that I was able to return to work 3 weeks after a fusion of my L5S1. In 2 months I was able to attend classes again. 12 months after coming back I broke my Deadlift personal best. A record I had not been able to surpass for 11 years!!!

“Old school beach gym vibes. Not many of its kind left. Hot cardio deck is unfortunate but also kind of awesome. Has some old, classic, wonderful machines, including what looks like some early-gen nautilus gear. Two benches, a squat rack, 2 smith machines, and a solid dumbbell rack round out the offerings. They have a low pull that will make you feel like Arnold at Venice Gold's circa 1973. A real gem of a place.”

“I've been lifting on and off for about 13 years and out of all the gyms I've been to in that span, these guys are my absolute favorite. Setting aside how awesome it is that you can go here anytime you want at any point in the day with a membership and the key fob, this gym especially has a lot of perks. The staff are exceptional and kind, and I mean that for every one of them that I've had the pleasure of getting to know over the past couple of years. The equipment is always maintained extremely well and the people are generally very friendly and polite as well. They've got pretty much anything you could need here to run just about any type of workout. My favorite part, though, is the community. You might not feel it on your first visit but this gym has a lot of special people who will go out of their way to make you feel welcome. There's so many familiar faces that this place has started to feel like a second home for me. I love to see my fellow gymgoers like Bruce, Debbie, John, Kevin, and so many more. We all encourage each other to do and be better not just at the gym but in our lives. Hands down this gym has the best community I've ever been a part of, the people and staff who are here will care about you and your goals, and I speak from experience as one of the most active members who has only gone here more and more as time goes on. At 31 I'm currently in the best shape of my life and a lot of my gratitude for that goes towards the amazing people here who have been so supportive of me and others. If you want a gym that's more than just a sanctuary for you when you need to let off some steam, this place is great for that, but it's also great for meeting good people who genuinely care about you and your goals. Very much the ancient Greek concept of kalos kai agathos incarnate”

“This retro fitness is a no-nonsense gym, just a bunch of great members there to get their work in and not clog up machines and equipment. No selfie sticks, no ego lifters, nobody trying to pick up a date. And pretty much everyone respects the idea of wiping things down and put things back where they belong. It gets a little more packed in the summer when LBI picks up but they have great hours which allows you to avoid the crowds. And the staff is great, making sure the place stays in order and organized and so friendly as they greet you on the way in.”
