It was fine. An old hotel, a bit musty but well enough maintained. Good location. Parking rates are pretty ridiculous but on-street parking off season is cheap and ample. Room rates strike me as being on the high side for off-season (Dec).Rooms: Stayed in a more expensive oceanview room on an upper floor. Nice enough room and view was a bit occluded but might be pleasant in season. Batteries in room safe were dead so it didn't work.Walkability: Short walk to bars and restaurants, boardwalk.

I got the king size suite and the room looked beautiful and the bed was comfy but that's where it ends. The air conditioning was broken. I set the room temp to be 65 and when I came back later that night it was 85 degrees. Nothing I did to the thermostat would make it blow cool air. So I got no sleep. The light switch in the bathroom was broken and I could not turn the light off. The shower curtain rod was broken and kept the curtain from staying closed and flooded the bathroom every time I showered and the tub would not drain for 10 minutes at the time meaning half my shower was actually a bath. So if your a lizard person that loves super hot terrarium rooms and take nothing but baths this is perfect. Otherwise I would not recommend.

We normally stay at the empress. The empress is a complete dump by comparison and I wish I would have found this place much sooner. It's not much to look at on the outside but the inside is new and updated the staff is friendly and the place is clean. Don't look for room service or anything like that but it's good enough and it's a hell of a lot better than the empress. It is Asbury Park so you do get the occasional fight at the in the middle of the night that is in the street and then carries through into the hallway of the hotel but then again that's the Asbury experience not the hotel's fault. The mattresses are as hard as a rock though. And so are the pillowsRooms: The rooms were large and exceeded my expectationsNearby activities: Great location to the beach and the boardwalkWalkability: Extremely walkable which is why we like it

Very disappointed in the quality of the rooms. Outdated furniture was weathered and looked like it was from a thrift store. Parking is very expensive $70 a night for crossover SUV 90 for larger SUV. Website needs to be updated because it is inaccurate. Nice location and Juan the bellman was extremely helpful. Had to have desk correct bill 3 times.Walkability: Right across from boardwalk close to restaurants and beach.

Hotel with a view to the Atlantic Ocean.Atlantic ocean is a walking distance from the hotel. Its family friendly hotel with table tennis courts at the lobby, a shop and mini market with complementary coffee every morning. The rooms are spacious but with limited power supply.Beds are queen size and firm mattresses. No fridge nor a coffee maker in the room. There is a vending machine for soft drinks and an ice maker.I liked the view but not the service as often times there is only the receptionist handling almost everything from luggage service to checking in & out of the hotel.

This hotel is seriously run down. Peeling wallpaper throughout the entire floor, and severely water damaged rooms probably infested with black mold. Our carpet was wet from rain leaking into the window, our other friends who stayed in a different room water was pouring through the ceiling. This is a serious health hazard to stay here. Not worth $350/night. Only good thing was the location.

My sincere apologies for the delayed solution on this.I am out of work today and will be back tomorrow, rest assured that it will taken care of.Sorry for the inconvenience that this has caused. You will receive a credit and and will see it on your account 7-10 business days. I will send you a copy of your updated receipt as well. This problem exists with the third-party resellers not selling the proper inventory at the time of booking. I wouldrecommend you book directly through us in the future, and it will be my pleasure to assist. This was from the manager of the hotel No refund was give or a callback. I booked a oceanfront room and got a parking lot view . Bate and switch!! Beware

I use to frequent this hotel. It has a phenomenal mezzanine. Eloquent structural design. It’s almost like going into a time capsule back into the 1920s or 1930s. Such sophistication of the design. I once stayed in the Johnny Cash suite and I was very impressed.Noteworthy details: A historical piece of art

Classic hip charm. Clean rooms with some minor cosmetic blemishes. Visited off season for 1 night and couldn't be happier. 100% great experience. Staff was helpful and polite, never dismissive. It would be 4.5 stars but you can't do it on here. We will 100% stay here again.

This was my first time at the Jersey Shore, and I loved it!! A large part of my. great experience, was staying at the Berkley. Àccording to my wife, the room s have been nicely updated since her last visit 2 yrs. ago. The view was incredible. Service was great without being intrusive. The ice machine was not working on our floor (7th) so we went up to the next floor looking for ice. A maintenance tech. was working in the hallway and noticed our ice bucket. He got off his ladder and took us to the ice machine. Before we were finished filling our ice bucket, the gentleman came back to verify our floor, and within an hour the ice machine on our floor was repaired and working. This person was so respectful and helpful--more than we are used too anymore!! The rooms had some some minor wear to door frames, dining table top, and shower hardware. I cannot begin to imagine the number of staff it takes to constantly repair things people roughly use and misuse. So not perfect, but worth the cost. We parked in handicapped parking so cost was free. Parking enforcement was constant. Overall, we had a great visit, and we are planning out next.

Beware: before you pay about $600 per night PLUS $65 PER NIGHT for parking, you will hear adjacent rooms dogs howl and bark all night and day. I like animals, but this is way too expensive to let people bring in their animals AND smoke in any room for a additional $75 fee. You will smell the smoke, you will smell and hear the dogs as well. The staff is super friendly and the hotel is upscale.. but the dogs, smoke and parking expense plus the super pricey room rate may not be your ideal place for the money. The pool is cool upbeat spot with a bar, but they do let non guests and locals in for a daily fee.Nearby activities: Right off the boardwalkWalkability: Everything is in walking distance that you need (beach, bars, boardwalk and food)

Meh. Over $400 night and it was just okay.ProsGood location just across street from beach. Away from all the noise from clubs / bars in AP. Rooms clean and smelled good.ConsIt's an older, well-worn hotel that's leveraging location but in need of rehab. They've spent more on lobby than anywhere else. A lot of lipstick on a pig.Beds are uncomfortable. Air conditioning runs all night. No coffee makers in room and long wait for coffee in morning.Pool turned into a night club at noon and was VERY loud. Odd ambiance considering it was mostly families at pool. My girlfriend and I had to shout at each other to communicate. Not conducive to relaxing, reading a book, etc. Went back to room and could still hear music blaring.

It's a very nice hotel at an excellent location. Service was top notch. I will say the rooms could use a little updating. Sliding in your key to power on the room was beyond finicky. Not enough outlets or lights in the room. Mattress was quite hard too. Aesthetically, very pleasing and location really was hard to beat. Just those few minor drawbacks. Definitely not enough to keep me away from revisiting though.

Great spot - parking is way too much (park 3 blocks away for free on the street). No refrigerator in the room and no coffee. Room wasn’t cleaned/bed not made and we were there 2 nights. Just felt like they got some of the renovation done and stopped (carpet didn’t go all the way to the wall ???). Room smelled musty despite the AC cranking. 1 quirk - the outside doors slide open but you need to open the inside door yourself - and use the elevators off hours (they are sloooow). There were spilled Cheerios by the elevator on our floor for over 24 hours so not sure how “diligent” the cleaning is.In all, the location was great and the room was comfortable but a lot of touches that could have really supported the cost (it is one of the cheaper compared to the Asbury and the Ocean Club though).
