“I attended an event at Castleton over the weekend. The venue is stunning and it had so much to offer. Below are some things to think about if you are hosting an event here.Recommendations:GET MARRIED AT SUNSET! (you will not regret these photos.)Apps and display trays were all DELICIOUSWorked:* Wedding coordinator was on point* flow is cool (ceremony outside, cocktail hour in main building, reception area to follow.* If there is an event on the other side of your event you cannot hear it, sound proofing is done well.* Bartender quick, nice and efficient.* overall experience wonderful.* Outdoor fire places are AMAZING!* staff was quick, attentive and supportive.Didn't Work:* There is a room for the groomsman and brides maids to get dress, have space during the wedding. The bridal area is very small depending on the size of your bridal party (just something to think about).* The ATM was out of cash at the start of our event and remained that way throughout the night* Some of our time outside seemed to interlock with another families time outside.* Because another event was on the other side of ours at times there were stragglers over at our event one in which whom completely undressed in our bathroom. (Not the venues issue but something to keep in mind.) We luckily had an adult only event.”

“My family and I had the best prime rib we have had since Lewis's closed in Essex years ago! The waitress was friendly & on point! All the food and deserts were amazing! I definitely recommend! I would make reservations though especially on the weekends because they pack in quickly and there's usually a wait if you don't!Parking: The entrance to the restaurant is in the front of the building not where it says The Village Inn on the side where you park. That's their function rooms so park in the lot then go up the side ramp to the front of the building to get in restaurant. The waiting area is a little tight so like I said a reservation is probably best!”

“I was going to wait for photos before writing a review, but i couldn't stand the thought of waiting! My husband and I had our wedding at Birchwood last night, and it exceeded our expectations by miles. We toured this venue back in November of 2021 and booked it before we were even engaged because we knew it was special. We've now been legally married since beginning of 2022, but all of the coordinators/staff at Birchwood made us feel just as special as if we were becoming newly weds. As soon as I arrived at the venue, Denise was SO accommodating and personable. She made everyone that was apart of our day feel extra special and heard, regardless of what was ever needed throughout the night. Once the ceremony was over, Denise and this sweet blonde girl (I wish SO badly i could remember her name) were SO attentive to my husband and I. Whenever our drink was empty, there they were with a new one. Whenever we needed water, there it was. Appetizers were offered frequently, and we were asked if anything was needed VERY often. We felt SO special and so loved by everyone there.Lastly, the food was absolutely incredible and we got nothing but great reviews from all of our guests. We chose the prime rib and Tuscana chicken as our main entrees, but even the stationed and passed appetizers were delicious. We had several no shows, and the staff packaged up ALL left over food and gave it to us.If anyone is on the fence about booking Birchwood for your wedding, just know that if you do, you will not regret it at all. It's hard to look past the high $ payments that need to be made, but once the day is finally here, there will be absolutely no regrets if you choose Birchwood!!”

“Amazing space! Nice blank canvas that can be turned into whatever your event requires. The marble floors to the custom tile ceiling and chic bathrooms make this space standout from the rest. Clean and in a great location and just enough space to have an intimate party or a gala fit for a queen/king.”

“Gorgeous course! Super friendly staff. It's very enjoyable and pretty challenging to play. However, I do wish they had water bottle refill stations throughout the course.”

“Everything was great! First time here. The rented skates were a bit worn (laces/velcro). I've never rented before so I'm not sure how often they update their skates but other than that, we had a blast! Staff were very friendly and helpful. Pricing was fair.”

“Very ?nice staff, rooms are nice but a little dated. Gentleman at the front desk quickly had the faulty shower head fixed in my room. Restaurant/grill has tasty food, as I ate dinner there four evenings and did not have any complaints. Located on a golf course so plenty of places to walk for exercise. Within 15 minutes drive of a few towns that had any type of store, restaurant or shopping complex you might need.”

“We booked Chateau Merrimack for a night during a road trip from the south back to Canada and what a treat! We were warmly welcomed and immediately charmed by the thoughtful decor, gorgeous wood trimmings and smell of the wood burning fireplace on the main floor. The rooms are very large, clean and delightfully decorated, and the bathrooms are extremely spacious, clean and stocked with lovely products that were a treat to use after we spent time at the wonderful pool and hot tub.The restaurant was closed for upgrades, but we ate in the bar and shared delicious Caesar salad, crispy fries and flavourful wings between three of us and were satisfied and stuffed. After dinner we were treated to a tour of the charming new restaurant space by the kind front desk attendant. The library/ lounge is beautiful and modern and we had a look at photos of the original hotel decor from the 80’s. What a transformation this hotel has undergone, it’s incredible! If this hotel was close by, for this price we would be booking a stay regularly. It sounds like they may be ironing out some kinks based on some other reviews, but given the incredible transformation this hotel had undergone, that makes sense. I hope people are patient and give them a chance. This a special stay and we really hope to return. We really wish we could have stayed longer and were able to use the pool and amenities more. This hotel would be perfect for a romantic or fun weekend away or staycation, and the price was right for both!Rooms: Huge, full of character and charm, clean and very comfy. The wood trim throughout is amazing. Kudos to their designer!Food & drinks: The Caesar salad was huge and full of flavour. Definitely try the sweet chili and toasted peanut wings.Noteworthy details: The pool and hot tub were clean, vibey and delightful.”
